What are some good first person 3D games that aren't just about killing people with guns?
DishonoredThe allow you to use guns and you can go head to head with enemies and play it as a straight up FPS. But it's much more fun to play it as a stealth game. The stealth game play is pretty standard "line of sight" stealth, with a very interesting magical/movement twist. Early on during the game, you get the ability to transport yourself instantly from one spot to another. While there's a distance limitation, and you can only blink yourself to a spot you can see (no going through walls and such), it greatly increase your mobility, opens up all sorts of hidden path especially through rooftops. You can play through the game without killing anyone, not even your target. There's always a non-lethal way available, and they're often more fun to plan out. Dishonored was my favorite game in 2012. Definitely worth playing. On the same line of thought, if you want to play other first person stealth games, I'd recommend Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Similar idea applies, you can go in gun blazing, but you can also go non-lethal and stealth. And other game you can try is last year's Thief, while Thief's core game play is pretty solid first person stealth, there're a lot of cumbersome secondary game play added making it a hard game to like unless you're totally into stealth (like myself... but even I had a hard time going through some of the areas).

FPS and adventure games are two of my favorite genres. And quiet a few good games were released in 2014 and 2015.FPS:Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege(2015)I was eagerly waiting for this game and it surely didn’t disappoint me. It had 11 maps and the maps had variety. Gameplay was fun and the audio was one the best. But the cool part was breaching. You could blast through doors and ceilings. And yes,the wall that is protecting you from your enemies,doesn’t last long. You will surely feel the rush of adrenaline while playing this game.Titanfall(2014)Titanfall had some new features to offer. Giant-robot combat and jetpack-powered locomotion makes it’s gameplay more and more intense. It’s maps were well designed but I feel they could’ve worke a bit more on modes and customization.Call of Duty:Black Ops 3(2015)After disappointment of 2 years,the Call of Duty franchise surely invigorated fans with Black Ops 3. The game takes place in the future as expected. It’s gameplay is innovative. It has one of the best multiplayer maps design in the franchise. The ability of using different types of power sets it apart from other games.Squad(2015)Squad is by far one of the best tactical shooters I’ve ever played. This game will challenge you in every single step. The weapons recoil in a realistic way. And yes,it’s not that easy.These are the games I think the best FPS released in 2014 and 2015 for pc. Some other games are also mentionable such as Wolfenstein:The New Order and Farcry 4.Now let’s have a look at some adventure games.Middle Earth:Shadow of Mordor(2014)Middle Earth had a beautiful open world map and an awesome sword combat. You can either play the game stealthily or you could kill every single enemy that comes near you. And it gets very violent.Sherlock Holmes:Crimes and Punishments(2014)Needless to say that this game was inspired by Sherlock Holmes written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. You have investigate six well-written cases in the game. The game’s quite enjoyable.Now a lot of adventure games were released in those years and so many of them were enjoyable such as Broken Age,The Vanishing of Ethan Carter,Murdered:Soul Suspect and so on.
