My Dogs Stopped Peeing On Pads. They Are 10lbs. Should I Crate Them While Working They Have Small

Can you work full time and have a small dog ??

You already have the dog and if you need to work full time then you need to work full time. It's not the best scenario but I would never tell you to give him up cause you have to work. Small dogs can't hold it 8 hrs and it might be a huge change for him to be alone that long so maybe you could have a dog walker come in mid day or have him go to day care a few days a week to keep him occupied and out of trouble and not so lonely. Hey, it's better to have a dog in a good home than in a shelter waiting for death. AANNDD if everyone who worked didn't have a dog, then hardly anyone would have a dog.

How long can small dogs hold their bladder?

The size of the dog has little to do with their bladder control. I had a female Doberman Pinscher who had a difficult time holding her urine for more than 4 hours, but my 8 pound Papillon/Chihuahua mix can hold her urine for 8–9, even 10 hours, if necessary (or if she is too comfortable to get up). There are varying factors, but the idea that a tiny dog has a tiny bladder is close to irrelevant. Just as a tiny dog eats substantially less than a large dog, and has tiny poops by comparison, likewise a tiny dog drinks less, has a lot less blood to filter, and its bladder size is relative to its body size. When my large dogs pee, it is a significant amount of urine. When the little one pees, it’s about a thimble-full. Plus, since many people believe that small dogs can’t be successfully and completely housetrained, they sort of ‘expect’ accidents, and let the small dogs get away with it.Frankly, I think this is at least sometimes due to the human’s laziness. If they don’t expect the dog to have control, they can shrug off taking it for a walk with the same frequency (and expectations) as a medium or large-sized dog. The dog then doesn’t try to wait, since the human has essentially given it permission to relieve itself in the house.I almost always take my dogs out at least every 3–4 hours, because I happen to love being outside. But if I have to be away for 8–9 hours, I know they will be fine. And there are times when they don’t really want to go out, like during a thunderstorm, when they will refuse to go out, and just wait.Good, thoughtful house-training, praise for going where they are supposed to, and praise for waiting an hour, then 2 hours, then gradually 3, then 4… little by little, and always with great praise for waiting, will teach your dog that you expect her to wait until you get home, or until the morning…. for some dogs, crate training helps because they don’t want to soil their ‘personal space’. And once they get it, they get it!

Dog Ate a Tiny Jingle Bell?

it should pass through in a day or so, so watch her poop for the evidence.,if it doesent show up by the weekend and she starts acting sluggish or in pain call the vet. when my border collie was a pup only around 10 lbs she nipped my ear and the earring i had on was swallowed by her and the vet was not to concerned. good luck

How long can a small dog hold it's urine? How long can she go without peeing?

Do you take her water up well before bedtime? That can certainly be helping her to hold it through the night. At 12 weeks old, my puppy was around 9lbs, and was able to hold it overnight no problem! He's a mutt, and I'm guessing he'll be around 15lbs full grown, and he's been holding it overnight since about 10 weeks or so.

Sounds to me like she's doing well! Good luck with the pup :D

Has anyone flown with a 8 week old labrador puppy under plane seat?

Making annual trip to Colorado for the month of July. We take our labradors with us and will have two adults under the plane. We will have a 8 week old puppy. I was planning on carrying it on the plane in a small kennel. Anyone had any experience with this? Not sure how a puppy will do. It's a 3.5-4 hr flight.

Which dog food is better: Castor & Pollux (Ultramix/Organix) or Blue Buffalo?

My poor doggy (3 years old, around 10 lbs) had been eating Science Diet and was throwing up. I read recent reviews of other people reporting their dog throwing up on Science Diet as well so I decided to switch. I switched to Nutro, but now I am reading not so great reviews on that stuff and how it is not that much better than Science Diet. I have decided that I am going to start feeding my little guy food that doesn't contain soy, wheat or corn. But I need an opinion. Blue Buffalo or Castor & Pollux?

What would happen to a puppy if instead of puppy food he eats adult dog food?

We got a puppy a couple of months ago, he's now 4 months old. We have another dog who is 8 years old, i've noticed that recently my older dog has started eating the puppy's food and the little one is eating the adult dog food, I've tried to feed them separately, in different rooms, at different times, in very different looking plates, but the baby is still eating the adult dog food and the older one keeps eating puppy food, they will sit and stare at the pplate until i let them go for the other one... it's like they do it on purpose! I'm worried because i don't know how it can affect the pup, he's an Amstaff, and so far (after about a month or so of this behavior starting) i haven't seen any symptoms like diarrhea or constipation, he's growing nice and big, and i don't see any signs of a skin allergy... the adult dog food is ''Alpo Prime Cuts'' by Purina, and the puppy food is Purina dog chow for puppies (formerly know as ''puppy chow'') i have noticed, however, that my adult dog has gotten significantly fatter, is it that the puppy food has more fat or some kind of hormones? i KNOW i have to stop this as soon as possible so don't tell me ''stop it right now'', believe me, i have tried but i ultimately think it's better that they eat each other's food rather than just not eating anything at all... but what could happen if it continues? will my puppy have some kind of growth problem? does the puppy food have something in it that adult dog food doesn't and he needs as part of his development? or is it just marketing?

Can I leave puppy inside apartment while I'm at work?

I'm thinking of buying a yorkshire puppy; however, I live in a small 2 bedroom apartment with no patio and the dog would have to stay alone inside the apartment while I'm at work (8 hrs).

I'm worried that the dog is going to be peeing/pooping all over the place while I'm at work, is it really possible to train the puppy to go in a dog potty??

I'm not a germaphobe but lets say that it would really get on my nerves to step with my bare fet on a carpet that's been peed...

Any advice or is it just a plain bad idea?

Thanks!
