Hemoglobin= low 104 (reference 120-150).
Hematocrit= low 0.31 (reference 0.36-0.46).
MPV= low 6.2 (reference 7.0-11.0).
Tprot= low 59 (reference 60-83).
ALB= low 34 (reference 35-48).
T.BIL= high 37, 56 (reference 3-25).
ALK.Phos= low 33, 37 (reference 42-98).
GGT= low 4, 5 (reference 9-35).
CRP= <1.0 (reference 0.0-8.0).
Rheum Factor= <20 (reference 0-20).
ESR= 10

hmmmmm. so, do I have.. Hemolysis, Hepatitis, Hyperbilirubinaemia, jaundice.. which one? ;P

What does high ESR in the blood mean..?

ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate) is a non-specific screening test for various diseases. This 1-hour test measures the distance (in millimeters) that red blood cells settle in unclotted blood toward the bottom of a specially marked test tube.

Normal Values
Adults (Westergren method):

Men under 50 years old: less than 15 mm/hr.
Men over 50 years old: less than 20 mm/hr.
Women under 50 years old: less than 20 mm/hr.
Women over 50 years old: less than 30 mm/hr...

Simply: ESR (normal: <= [age + 10]/2 for women and age/2 for men

Your Doc is right . 21 mm/hr is nothing to worry about
God bless

What could this be? My doctor found something in my blood tests?

Hello,

It's really guesswork, - I suppose my guess is Henoch-Schönlein purpura, that's where you get a slight bleeding tendency, combined with a flu-ey tummy upset. Also joint pains, which you don't mention.

That would probably not be too serious, and HSP is not cancerous, it's like an allergy.

Really we have to account for the minor bleeding into your skin, - those red dots and the purple lump.

I think it's unlikely that a major, serious blood problem has *suddenly* developed in between your two blood tests. You can get mild spontaneous bleeding from just a shortage of platelets, sometimes, - it doesn't have to involve your white blood cells (in any cancerous change).

If my guess is correct and it's HSP, then the blood tests for your kidney function may be mildly abnormal : it could be that ; or you could have a raised ESR or CRP, which are non-specific signs of inflammation inside you.

If it were HSP, then I would be a bit worried that your "left upper tummy lump," - and your increased tummy pain, - both represent an "intussusception," - and I should definitely mention that to your doc?

Intussusception tummy lumps, - "Physical examination may reveal a "sausage-shaped" [lump]... on [feeling] the abdomen."

That is pronounced "in - tuh - suh - SEPP" - shun," and is a telescoping of your bowel in upon itself.

Hope this helps. You need to ask your doc about HSP, about your kidney function, and about any telescoping of your bowels? - in my humble opinion.

Best wishes,

Is it dangerous if the ESR rate would be 50 in blood?

Not dangerous. This reading is permanent for some persons with out any serious problem.Genrally ESR test is not specified for the diagnosis.Inflammation always show ESR level high. Once the corrections are made the level may go to normal.

My health reports say high lymphocytes (48) and high ESR (38). What do these mean?

High lymphocytes and high ESR indicates infection, please check with your doctor for confirmation of the diagnosis and treatment required.Lymphocytes are a type of white blood cells fight against infection and are part of our immune system. Normal range is 18–45 %of white blood cells and >50 % indicates high value . High lymphocytes count is normal if one has infection.ESR referes to erythrocyte sedimentation rate, is the rate at which the red blood cells sediment in a period of one hour. It is common blood test and a non-specific measure of inflammation. The normal ESR range is 0-22millimeters/hour for men and m0–29mm/hr for women.ESR is increased in inflammation, anemia, pregnancy, infections, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, some kidney disease etc.

What is the problem if I have an ESR of 25?

ESR is the Erythrocyte Sedimentation rate. It is a test that measures how quickly erythrocytes (red blood cells) settle at the bottom of a test tube that contains a blood sample. Normally, red blood cells settle relatively slowly.A faster-than-normal rate may indicate inflammation in the body.ESR is done to knowHow is the disease progressing?Is it deteriorating or getting better?ESR does not specifically diagnose any disease, but it can provide information about whether or not there is inflammation in your body.Normal Range of ESR blood test results :Men below the age of 50 must have an ESR rate under 15 mm/hr.Women below the age of 50 must have an ESR rate under 20 mm/hr.Men above the age of 50 must have an ESR under 20 mm/hr.Women above the age of 50 must have an ESR under 30 mm/hr.Newborns must have an ESR under 2 mm/hr.Children who are yet to achieve puberty must have an ESR between 2 to 13 mm/hr.If there is abnormal ESR results it may indicateSome common conditions include:-A disease in the kidneys,AnemiaLymphomaTemporal ArteritisOld age factorPregnancyMultiple myelomaWaldenstrom’s macroglobulinemiaA particular type of arthritisThyroid disease.Don't worry, if you have an ESR 25 that means you have some inflammation in your body if it becomes 100 it indicates some chronic inflammation. If it lowers it indicates you are recovering.

What does it mean if my ESR is 35?

ESR refers to Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate. ESR is used to check if you have any condition that causes inflammation. It is mainly used to find out the symptoms of an inflammatory disorder. The normal ESR range is 0–22mm/hr for men and 0–29mm/hr for women. Since your ESR mentioned here is 35. But it doesn't necessarily mean you have a medical condition that requires treatment. A moderate ESR may indicate blood disorders, polycythemia or anemia, rather than an inflammatory disease. Certain medicines and supplements can also affect your results. Though it might be possible it’s an indication of inflammatory conditions like - Infection, vascular disease, arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease etc. It’s better to consult a doctor to be perfectly sure about your case.hope it helps :)
