My friend keeps copying me! Help!?
There's this friend I have that lives in my neighborhood. We are good friends and rarely get into an argument, but the problem is, she keeps copying me! If she copied me once or twice, I would understand, but she's done it so many times that it's bugging me! Ever heard about being original? She keeps doing what I do, it's like having a clone of myself. I just can't take it anymore. Here are some examples. *I posted quite a lot of selfies on this app that is related to Instagram, but only friends and family can see it. She's on my friends' list, so she would see all of the photos I post. My selfies are edited and filtered so that they look better than the original photo. She copies me by doing the exact same thing! *I bought a new outfit that is different from my taste. I tried it on, and I liked it, so I wore it. She saw me wearing it and bought the same outfit in another color, same style. *I made a website to raise money for the Red Cross, and she does the same thing with the same site maker. In fact, she's overdoing it with the sites and keeps deleting one site after another. *I have played the flute for quite a long time. She was planning to play the clarinet, but after seeing me play the flute a little, she changes her mind, goes to the music store, and buys a flute. Ugh! *I wanted to enhance my look just a little, so I buy some products and she does the exact same thing. *I generate quotes for my followers on a social network, and she copies me. -.- *I don't shop a lot, but when I do, I go to my favorite clothing stores. She had her own favorites, but when she heard about me going to my favorites, she copies me and actually purchases a lot of clothing at my most favorite store. Please give me some advice on how to fix this! Thank you! No rude comments.
How do I deal with a friend that keeps copying me?
Charles Colton did say “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery” but since you're asking this question, I'm guessing you're definitely not feeling flattered by it. This is possibly because your friend doesn't have a sense of identity or individuality and the best solution would be to help him/her develop that. If they're not receptive to that, try having a frank conversation with him/her and gently tell them that while you are honored that they appreciate you to the extent of copying you, still you're not comfortable with it or feel like you're losing your own identity.

Well, My best friend keeps copying everything I do. For one example, I love trying new things with my hair & makeup. And One day I put on turquoise eyeshadow and eyeliner that I winged out- Next day she did the exact same thing. Another one, I love dying my hair crazy colours. So, I told her that I'm getting a bunch of colours to put in my hair, and I'd just change my hair every few days... Well, she decided that she's gonna do the exact same thing. Then she asked me when I was gonna do it, and I said in about a month. She decided she was gonna do it sometime this week! So then I look like the copy-cat. (lol.) But Its driving me insane!! She's literally obsessed with you, and you need to have a conversation with her about individuality and how she needs to be herself and not a carbon copy of her. The bra example is a good point to draw the line, becasue if a girl is an A cup and where Bs her boobs are not supported and therefore the point of wearing a bra is defeated. I would go bra shopping with her and both get measured, and the measuring will tell you that your a B and tell her shes an A and then have te conversation with her right there
My best friend keeps copying my hair and clothes.?
Right, i know i might sound a little over exaggerated and everything but my best friend copy's a lot of my hair, accessories and clothes. She just can't see that it's really annoying me - i like being my own person and hate dressing exactly like someone, especially if we're together. It's like say if theirs 50 headbands the same but different colours etc, she'll pick the same colour i picked.. & before we went shopping for a party and had a fight over a dress because i brought it and she said 'oh actually, im going to get that dress to, just in a different colour' and i really didn't like the idea of that. So i've already tried saying things like 'copying my style are we..' etc.. and its just not working :S. I know everyones like 'take it as a compliment' but i can't stand it anymore.. i'll come to school and next thing we'll have the same bag & hair style.. What i really want to know is 1. How can i stop her? 2. How can i make her realize how annoying and how she wouldn't like it? thank you

Ok so I've been friends with a girl(lets call her c) for about a year now,she's a good friend she doesnt spill secrets doesn't make stuff up or spread rumors shes there for me she helps me out,but she copies me and its starting to get to me.It all started out when we were both friends with a girl(lets call her h) and she stabbed us in the back so were not friends with h anymore.H was always bossing C around she tried to boss me but I stuck up for myself anyway she never let C be herself so when me and C became good friends I encouraged her to be crazy and wild and be herself.Well it isn't workin here lately I've noticed this:she's copied my toothbrush she has the same one i do but in a different color and I had mine first and she knew i had that one,she has 2 of the same shirts I do but I bought mine before her,she copies my makeup she buys the same kind I do and tries to wear it like i do,she said she wants the same cell phone as me but her parents won't let her get a smartphone thank god,she copies specific poses I do for facebook and myspace pics like she never did it until I started,I took a oic for facebook of me in the mirror and it looked like there were 2 of me well in the caption i put "my twin sis haha jk" a week later she did the same thing with the same caption!,she got side swept bangs after I did,she always has to have her hair straight like mine hers is normally curly!theres soooo many more but I'm goin on to the braging like example(this has happened before)she will be in walmart and just randomly text me this:I'm gettin a ke$ha cd. i get annoyed bc it's like okay? why do I need to know? i get sooo annoyed with her and she does the bragging thing like that alot when she goes to eat at my fav. restraunts and when she gets new things and its just getting annoying (I've done it back to her but she doesnt seem to understand) and I know if I tell her whats shes doing she will be like"no I'm not?" and get upset idk what to do were 13 if that helps 10 points =]
Help? My cousin keeps copying me?
my cousin has been copying me for YEARS. at first i didn't mind but it's getting to be too much. We used to be best friends, because she's just a year older than me, but we've grown apart. When we were 8 she would see a watch or necklace i had and she would go and make her mom buy the same one for her. she would always say "I'm not copying you!" even though I never accused her of it. As we got older I would point out a swim suit or shirt I liked, and she would buy it before me. It's been about 6 years now, and even though we've grown apart, We keep in touch on Myspace. She copied my layout, which I didn't mind, then she started copying what I put on the "about me" section and the quotes I had on my page word for word. It's just getting to be too much, her page look identical to mine, and when we see each other she steals my ideas, and things like that. How do I tell her to stop nicely?

I've asked this question like 3 times but i need more answers so im asking it again. :[ So my friend lets call her, Lily. Well she keeps copy everything about me. It started at the end of 7th grade (we're now in 8th). So i made up a list to show you guys everything she does to copy me. - I buy grey skinnies. She buys them after me. - I shop at PacSun and Hot Topic. She changes from Abercrombie to those two stores. - I date this guy when we break up Lily suddenly likes him. - I cut layers into my hair, she Attempts... to cut layers into her hair. - I change my fringe, she Attempts... to change her fringe. - I buy red skinnies, she suddenly buys them. - I date another guy in the summer and we break up (but i still like him) and she goes out with him KNOWING I LIKE HIM ! Which i think is really effed up. - I get new Nike hightops, she buys almost the same pair. - I wear makeup, she tries to wear the makeup the same way. - I use the word Amazinglyawesome over I.M. She uses it in person. And not just that all she talked about last year is how she 'cut' herself. And she drew on cuts with sharpie. Doing that it looked like she was mocking a really good friend of mine who actually cut herself due to problems in her family. And now all she talks about is how 'Hardcore' she is and how she loves Hot Topic and Gir from Invader Zim. Lily also steals my sit at lunch which really annoys me, haha i dont know why it annoys me so much it just does. Oh yeah. I've always kinda wanted to get snakebites and a tattoo of L.o.v.e on my wrist. And now guess who wants to get that ? So what im asking is how the hell do i get her to stop copying. And yes i understand many other people dress like me and have their hair like me, but its strange how i get it and she gets it. So PLEASEEEE help me. Thank You !!!!!!!!!!! xx
How can I nicely tell my friend to stop copying me? She is suddenly getting better grades because she is copying my work secretly.
OMG IM GOING THROUGH THE SAME THING! My friend was an average student and now she’s doing better. Still not as smart as me though. She’s always sitting next to me in class and gets mad when someone else sits with me. The other day she COMPLAINED TO THE TEACHER and said that she works better when she’s next to me. I think she even likes the same guy. She even copies how I act and what I say!!!! HELP! She benefits from me. But all she does is upset me and mess with my mental health AND DRAG ME DOWN. Lol this is no help to you but….idk I just needed to rant!
