My Girlfriend Is Illegal

Is it illegal to protect your girlfriend???

Is it really illegal to protect your girlfriend if someone tried to abuse because someone was trying to hurt my girlfriend and i just started going out with but that's not my point my point is i sent the guy to the hospital is that illegal because alot of people is saying that it's illegal for me to send someone to a hospital under any condition.

My girlfriend is an illegal immigrant?

She entered legally, on a valid visa, with inspection. So she has a chance to adjust to LPR (Lawful Permanent Resident) through marriage to a U.S. citizen (not necessarily you).

I understand that you are not looking to get married at the moment (which I think is quite smart), but it's a good idea for you to understand how a U.S. citizen can adjust a non-immigrant's status from visa overstay to LPR through marriage.

Let's say you decided to marry her. I would then suggest consulting a good immigration attorney. Normally, you would file to adjust her status right after you married, but your girlfriend has been an overstay for a considerable time. USCIS almost always forgives overstays upon a pending I-485 (Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status). I think I can safely say that if you filed without the help of an attorney, she would be fine. But it is always better to be say than sorry.

Continuing on hypotheticals here, let's say you filed to adjust her status after marriage. In that case, you would not - NOT - let her leave the country until her GC was in hand. Even if you applied for and received her Advance Parole (filed w/the I-485) to allow her to re-enter the U.S., she would not be allowed back into the U.S. without a GC due to her being "out of status."

As to anything she can do on her own - well, nothing, short of hiring a good immigration attorney.

My girlfriend is pregnant and she is illegal?

My friend is in the same situation. She is illegal and because of that she couldnt get medicaid. She can get emergency medicaid. Everyone qualifies for that even if you are illegal. Emergency medicaid covers for when she delivers the baby in a hospital and her stay in the hospital afterwards. You just need to save the money and pay for the doctor visits. Check in your area for a free clinic. Every city needs to have one, call the health department or the nearest hospital to where you live and ask them for the phone number. They provide free or low cost prenatal care while she is pregnant. She can get on WIC. (Women, Infants, and Children.) That pays for some food that she needs during pregnancy, if she breastfeeds or if she bottlefeeds it pays for formula as well. That helps alot cuz formula gets pretty expensive. Then the child can have WIC until he or she is 5 years old. Call your local health department and they can give you more info. They speak spanish as well. They offer free classes about a variety of things. I hope this helps! Good Luck and Congratulations! Dont stress about it, everything will turn out fine! But dont go back to Mexico because you will want your baby to be a US citizen so that she can get legal easier!

If im 18 and my girlfriend is 17 is it illegal for us to have sex?

I just turn 18 in April and she is 18 next February. is that illegal for us? can I get charged if something happens?
if so. Is there any time of the year before she is 18 where it would not be illegal?

I just found out my girlfriend is a illegal alien what would you do?

Currently there is no way for such an illegal alien to become legal. Marraige or children doesn't make a difference.

You are setting yourself up for a life of misery. She will eventually get caught and deported and then your only option will be to go with her.

If it was me I would run run run.

Would dating my girlfriend be illegal when I turn 18?

So long as you mean simply dating, then you're fine. No state has a law against chaste dating, they only care about sex.

Exactly what sex is, who can have it, how old they have to be, whether there are exceptions for people close together in age and the punishments for breaking the law vary wildly from state to state, and since you left out the critically important information about where you live, nobody can give you a specific, factually correct answer.

I can tell you sex with your girlfriend will only become illegal when you turn 18 in about 10 out of the 50 states. The other 40 or so states won't care.

Of the 50 states, 29 set the age of consent low enough that she's already completely legal. Another 11 set it at 17. The remaining 10 set it at 18 but about half of the states have some sort of exception for being close together in age, and depending on where you are you might fall within it. Or not.

Trial and error is bad though. You and your girlfriend having sex would be 100% legal in Washington state, but would be punishable by 20 years in prison in Wisconsin. But since you left out where you live, nobody can tell you for sure.

EDITED:

Since you added the all-important information about which state you live in, I can now give you a more specific answer:

Florida sets the age of consent at 18, but they have a close-in-age exemption. If someone is at least 16, they can give sexual consent to someone who is younger than 24. Sex with anyone under 16, even if both are under 16, is a crime in Florida.

In your specific case, you and your girlfriend are legal to have sex right now, and will remain legal after you turn 18.
