My hair is hard???
I use silk elements shampoo and conditioner (the conditioner has mineral oil in it) And well even before I was using that my hair has been so hard. like when the little hairs come out i can feel them and they are so hard. not hard like gel but just hard. They aren't soft or anything they are hard! Also wehn i shake my head the hair doesnt sway, and come back down, sometimes it just goes up and doesnt go back down it just stays there. until i gte a brush and brush it back down. and its probaly because my hair is so hard, or w/e. Anything to help me and i dont wear gel btw. and i have african american hair also. I buy all my things from sally's beauty supply store and walmart btw, and prices arent really a problem

Why does my hair get hard after i take a shower?
Okay so after i get out of the shower and dry my hair the hair on the center on my head gets hard like if i put gel in it? my hair is about 4 inches long and the rest is fine just the center of my head gets all hard? like my mom says its just too oily or something. I used to use oil product in my hair and i stopped about a week ago so maybe that might have to do something with it? i don't know but now i don't put anything in my hair and use head and shoulder shampoo. ive tried scrubbing it extra hard but it just wont do anything for it! please help!

It sounds like it might be a build up problem. You should consider changing shampoos. Usually to avoid build up, I use biolage normalizing shampoo once a week with my normal conditioner. The rest of the time I use biolage fortifying shampoo with bain de terre watercress volumizing conditioner. I've tried many many shampoos but have always come back to biolage over like 8 years.
Why is my hair getting hard after i take a shower?
This has never happened to me before. I live in wi and about a month ago i went to kentucky for two weeks and it started while i was there, I have never heard of this and it has never happened to me untill then. So i figured it was just all of the chlorine in their water. But now i am home and like i said it has been a little longer than a month. After i get out of the shower and brush my hair (same rutine for a few years now) i just let it air dry, i do not put any kind of styling, or leave in conditioner or anything in my hair, i only brush it. So my hair gets hard as if i put a can of hairspray in it. I do not use hairsparay the only thing i do to my hair is wash it, brush it, and starighten it, and i have been doing the same thing for years now, i did not change my shampoo or conditioner, i use pantene btw. Why does my hair feel hard after a shower?
Sometimes I have the same problem with my hair when I take a shower or when swimming in the pool it gets really dry and hard. So what I do for have a beautiful hair is to use a very soft shampoo and conditioner for damaged/dry hair named biolage smootherapie http://www.biolage.com/products/biolage/... These products really works! I love them! Also I add some drops of baby oil to the conditioner.
