My Left Piercing Hurts A Lot

Ear piercing hurts?

my ear piercing area started to hurt about 2 or 3 days ago and today it hurt the most. it only hurts when i touch the earring or when i moving my head a lot. other than that, it does not really hurt. it's not oozing yellow stuff or bleeding and it's not red and swollen so i don't think that it's infected. but i'm not sure. it is it infected? what should i do? my ears might be sensitive to the earrings i am wearing because theyre sterling silver and costs only 10 bucks. also, i've been wearing them for a while now but i've been cleaning them at least once or twice a week. could it be that i've been wearing the earrings for too long?

My Tragus piercing Hurts?

Itching and pain is absolutely normal - it's part of the healing process so it's actually a good thing that you're getting this. If it is infected you'd probably be able to tell straight away as it is much more painful and you produce a lot of gunk (be aware that you do produce some anyway even if it not infected - again due to healing).

I have quite a few cartilage piercings but the tragus for me was the most painful during the healing process as it is a thick part of cartilage and moves when you talk etc so it's more noticeable day to day. It may just be that during your sleep you slept on it awkwardly which has irritated it more lately, but my ears do the same with a new piercing and go through stages where it can feel better and then suddenly feel more sore again for a while.

4 days is no time at all - it takes up to 15 weeks to 'heal' enough to change the bar but cartilage piercings can take up to a full year to fully heal properly - I know mine did but my ears always take ages compared to most for some reason. Just be patient and make sure you wash it twice a day with rock salt water solution and tea tree drops. Meantime try not to fiddle with it as this can lead to infection. Wear your hair up as much as possible and clip any wispy bits out of the way - I have long hair and it didn't affect the piercing but if you wanna be extra safe then tie your hair back.

Do nose piercings hurt?

I had mine pierced twice - once with a gun and once with a needle. Both times, I had studs inserted. I'd rate the pain of being pierced with a gun 6/10 and the discomfort 8/10. With a needle, it was 4/10 pain, less than having your blood taken with a needle since the moment of contact is so short, and discomfort 6/10. This coming from someone who's a wuss where pain is concerned. With a gun, my nostril throbbed for weeks and they had to bore a large hole. With a needle, they could make a narrower hole and throbbing only continued for an hour afterwards, with minimal discomfort following it. It was less of a throbbing than a sharp stinging sensation, as if someone with very sharp nails is pinching the skin around the pierced area. Really though, the anticipation of pain when a tube is slid up your nose is almost the worst part of getting your nose pierced with a needle. With a gun... I felt like my skin had been brutally punctured and there was no space left in my nostril (again due to needing to have a large hole drilled in). Your eyes will tear up, as other answers have mentioned but its not from the pain. Its a reflex action. After the initial settling in period, a nose piercing doesn't hurt. You're vaguely aware of it and it does make picking your nose a little trickier (particularly in the initial weeks when you're supposed to be gentle around it), but all in all its no more painful than wearing earrings. The end result is this:

My left ear piercing hurts?

The pierced hole on my left ear has suddenly started feeling really sore and when I touch it, it's really tender and it hurts a lot. I googled it and all the results were about if your ears are sore after you first get them pierced. I got my ears pierced over five years ago so it has nothing to do with it being new.
It's only my left one. My right one is fine. It started feeling a little sore last week and now it's so sore it hurts to touch it. It looks normal, like it's not red or anything. But it hurts.
I have no idea why this is happening or what I'm supposed to do. Which is why I came here. Hopefully someone has an answer. Thank you!

How much does a lip piercing hurt?

I hate to be that person, but I sure hope you’re talking about going to a professional with your parents signature and getting it done in a safe clean environment. If we’re talking about having a friend stab a kinda sharp object through your lip, stop right there. It’ll hurt more, take longer to heal, and get infected. Now that you’re done rolling your eyes at me, back to the answer. I had a Monroe piercing. It hurt but not as bad as I thought. It’s a little prick, then a sting, then some blood, and done. You have a lip piercing. You’ll first have to wear a swell bar before you can have any cool jewelry. A swell bar is an extra long labret bar. Your lip is going to swell up for a few weeks and normal sized jewelry can get lost and stuck inside a swollen lip. Don’t try eating anything right after your lip is pierced. Pro tip, be extra careful about biting down on your new piercing. It’ll take getting used to. And most importantly, keep it clean. Buy whatever cleaning fluid your piercer recommends and clean it often. Being in your mouth offers much more opportunity for infection. If I remember correctly, I think the pain and swelling totally stopped after a month and it scarred up around 6 months after that.I say my lip piercing hurt more than my nose piercing, my friend says the opposite. It’s really about your pain tolerance. I wouldn’t let the pain stop you. I’m so afraid of needles but I suffered through literally 60 seconds to have it done. Pain is temporary. Just please, I can’t stress enough, go to a tattoo shop and have a professional do it for you.

How much would a right lower lip piercing hurt? How much would a left nose piercing hurt? I want to get both but I don't how much they'll hurt.

Now I won't be OVER pedantic but comparing the left side or right side of any piercing is generally moot, unless you have a considerable facial difference(scarring, previous trauma etc) so I won't compare the sides.Lower side lip piercings:5/10Reasonable. Stings. Will swell. Soreness redness and generally painful to bite on or touch for a few days. Once swelling passes and healing begins pain is incredibly mild and will generally only ever hurt if bitten or knocked.Be careful not to over clean or to use harsh cleansers as a swollen or embedded lip piercing can be VERY painful and should be looked at by a piercer immediately. Basically if you feel a lot of pain go get it checked out.Nostril piercing:7/10Be prepared for a fairly nasty sting. Pain subsides immediately. Teary eyes and sensation through sinus is overwhelming and in fact overides the pain. No pain throughout healing unless knocked or ripped out(be VERY careful with them in the first few weeks)The nostril piercing is actually rated as a quite painful piercing but the pain is so short lived that hardly anyone ever remembers it and will almost always mention that they are pain free or very mild. Don't be fooled. But don't be scared. Yes they sting. But you will forget that within 3–2–1…So there you have it.Oh and as an addendum everyone feels pain differently. This is just a guide from experience and client input.

Do helix piercings hurt?

I have three helix piercings (all done with a needle) - one on my right ear and two on my left ear.In my experience, the first helix I did only hurt when the piercer inserted the jewelry because it was a circular barbell which took some time to put through properly and screw on. 4 out of 10 on the pain level.I chose labrets (flatbacks) for my double helix piercing and I barely felt anything at all when I was getting pierced. 0.5. out of 10.That being said, I have a pretty high pain tolerance. My other friends who got theirs done said it feels like a sharp pinch, but it isn’t extremely painful.

Do Rook Piercings Hurt More or Less Than The Tragus Piercings?

Rook piercings hurt a lot more than tragus piercings.
I currently have my left rook pierced and my right tragus pierced... and the rook does hurt a lot more.
The rook piercing goes through a much thicker section of cartilage and the procedure is slower than a tragus piercing because it's in an awkward position.

That said, neither hurt THAT much, just a pinch of pain (or in the rook's case, a long pinch haha).
And it's worth it.

For the first 2 weeks after I got my rook pierced it hurt a lot... It hurt to smile, move my head and even talk. I also got really bad headaches.
It was also really inflammed and angry for 4-5 months before healing FINALLY.

My rook piercing looks absolutely wonderful now, but if you're thinking about getting it done, remember the healing process can be infuriating to say the least...

Anyway, good luck.

Nipple piercing healing: one hurts more than the other?

Sounds normal; when I had mine done, leftie caused me a lot more worry that it wasn't healing properly, in comparison to rightie . . . so long as they don't have several symptoms (redness, irritation, swelling, bleeding, discharge/pus, bad odor, pain, etc.), it's unlikely they're irritated or having other issues. Watch it closely, clean twice daily, treat them gently and leave them alone otherwise. If pain persists for a week, go speak to your piercer or a doctor.
