My Legs Itch Uncontrollably After I Shave Them. How Can I Stop It

Why do my legs feel so itchy after shaving?

When you shave, you may find that your skin feels itchy afterward because, you have exfoliated the dry skin from your legs as the razer skims over the skin. You may have even noticed that when you dry your legs, you get little rolls of skin on the surface of legs. This is dead skin cells.I can give you full instructions on proper shaving, so you can see if anything I suggest is different from what you do.You will need a loofa sponge and body wash of your choice. Here are 3 loofa that are all under $5.00Before you get ready to shave. You will want to wash your legs with very warm to hot water. Using body wash on the loofa, gently scrub your legs against the direction the hair grows. This will help remove the oils and surface debris and it will help the hair stand up a bit.Using a shaving cream, shave like you normally would. Rinse all excess cream from your skin. Now, you will need to close the pores by rinsing legs in as cold water as you can handle. When you get out of tub or shower, you can blot dry your legs. Try to not rub them because friction can irritate the freshly shaven area. After you have cooled down from getting out and drying off, moisturize your legs. You should have no issues if you use this method.

How do I stop my balls from itching?!?

Ok, I know this is gross... but I have a problem! My balls CONSTANTLY itch, wherever I go. Especially when I move around. When I'm sitting down in a chair, it hardly ever bothers me. But when I lay down, or walk around, my balls just start itching.

I've never had sex before (I'm 15), so it's not any STDs or anything like that. They don't look "dry". But I think it has to do with my pubic hair. I've shaved my balls with an electric hair-trimmer before, on several occasions, because the hair just gets to long and I can't stand it. I've tried talking with some people about it and no one takes me seriously. As soon as I bring up the "shaving" topic, everyone says "Oh, but your not supposed to shave. If you shave your pubes then ur gay!"

No... it's just to ******* annoying. And shaving is actually really difficult, and painful at times. I have actually cut my balls before. X_X

Anyways.... I just wanna know if anyone has any advice for me.. Please don't be mean, I just can't stand this any more. I feel like getting a visectimy (I think I spelt it wrong, lol).

Problem with itchy legs?

This is a long and complicated issue and I'll try and explain as best I can.

My legs are full of these marks and scabs (although small they are plain as day) all year round for the past few years.
My legs itch really badly and I scratch sometimes until they bleed, it's confined to my lower legs and feet (I think it only happens this time of the year also). I'm left with red marks and cuts which have scabbed over, if I pick the scab it will bleed, then scab over, even if it's left for over a month it will bleed, surely this isn't right?

My mum said it's my blood being 'too warm' and anti-histamines will aid me, but I somehow don't see how they can.

UGH this is making me insane! Any suggestions/ideas would be REALLY appreciated. PLEASE HELP :( !

Two days after shaving my legs there are red itching bumps. What is it and how do I avoid that?

Thank You for the A2AThis could be due to many reasons. It could be your first time shaving so your skin isn't used to it yet. It could even be if you have sensitive skin. But mainly, I think it's because your skin is just irritated and hence the red bumps. If you notice that in shaving hair never comes off with the root, it just gets cut and starts growing again in a day or two and sometimes when hair is growing you will feel itchy on your leg/arm wherever you shave. It should go away in some time though. Next time when you shave, take an oil of your choice and apply it on your skin that you're going to shave and then shave it after 10 minutes. This should help you in avoiding these bumps next time. After shaving, it's a good idea to apply astringent. You can use Rose water  as that is a natural astringent. Make sure to moisturise your skin at night to keep it hydrated and nourished. If you want you can read more about rose water here: http://www.janeandsamara.com/?p=354 Hope this helps, Jane

Why do your legs/shins itch when you take off your socks?

There may be multiple reasons that can show a relationship between itching feet and socks, and these are,Maybe your socks are with mites that are causing itching of the skin. The presence of some irritants within the socks may also be the major cause. But in my opinion, the third reason, that is the anatomy of feet skin will describe the topic with more logic. Your feer skin has small pores and each pore is with obvious or non- obvious hair. These hairs are embedded in your feet skin forces within skin muscles. When you wear socks the day long, it stretched the hairs against the muscles and again its origin. When you take off socks, this will make the hair relax, the stretched hair origin will try to move to its original position and all these will cause the stitching of feet skin when you turn your socks off.Related:What will happen if you are not drinking enough Water? This is what happens when you apply Yogurt on Skin?Six warning signs that are telling you that your life is full of toxins.

What can I do to prevent itchy razor bumps after shaving?

TOP 10 CAUSES OF INGROWN HAIRS:1. Too many passes with the blade. One pass, going 1-2 inches downward at a time will eliminate ingrowns.2. Too many blades (if you are prone to ingrowns you don’t need 3 or more blades)3. Pressing too hard on the skin with the blade. A gliding, light touch is all you need. This is likely your biggest issue. Follow #44. Not enough prep time. You should be using a warm/hot water prep (5 mins). Then leave the shaving creme on for more than 3 minutes to really soften the hair. The hair stubble should literally fall away with little or no pressure at all. Pressing is the problem! Be gentle ya'll.5. Using a used blade (this one is obvious, of course).6. Use of skin/pore clogging cremes or lotions. These keep hairs from growing up. After a shave, keep your skin bare; let it breath, and allow those newly shaved, really small, microscopic hairs to grow out just in time for the next shave.7. Not enough exfoliation to remove excess layers of skin. Use an exfoliation brush as directed.8. Shaving too many times. This rule is hard to follow especially if you have to shave for your career but if you are prone to ingrowns, try shaving with an electric clipper. The results are not super close but no one but you will know the difference.9. Shaving against the grain. Shave in the direction of hair growth (usually down, but perform a face map to be sure).10. Avoid tight fitting clothing around the Adam’s apple (neck) and/or below the waistline region.

How long does pubes itch for after shaving?

Three to four weeks. Any kind of cream or lotion will suffice

Why do leggings make my legs itch?

Leggings cause itching for several reasons.Compression . The compression of the garments will , occasionally cause the ancillary hair on your legs to rub , hence itching.Dry skin. When your skin is dry, the tight construction of the garment rubs on your body and causes any loose and dry skin to flake . This is itchy due to the skin flakes being pulled of and the collection of skin that will sit against your skin. These two key factors can be alleviated by exfoliating . A quick multi tasking way to stay on top of this, is to use a razor for hair removal . The razor acts as an exfoliant and keeps leg hair to a minimum . The exfoliation process also allows your kin to absorb hydration products readily .Moisturizer will reduce your itching as it soothes the skin and will lie any irregular skin to lie against your garment .

HELP! Insanely itchy legs and cannot find relief!!?

It's now 5:30am and I've been up all night (yet again!!) with absolutely uncontrollable itching on my legs. It feels like there are bugs crawling underneath my skin and I CANNOT find relief. I'm literally going crazy.
There is no rash, no bites, bumps, dry spots, ANYTHING that is visible. Just nail marks and bruises from scratching.
I've tried shaving every day, shaving once a week, changed sheets, soaps, detergents. I've used Benadryl which helps for maybe 10 minutes. I've used hypoallergenic lotion which seems to make it worse. I've tried drinking only water (as I've seen some suggesting a hydration issue), I've skipped birth control pills as some has said that was their problem. NOTHING IS WORKING!!!
I went to the dermatologist who was just as confused as I was. He issued blood work, and told me to start taking Claritin once a day as he thinks it's an allergy issue. I've never had problems with allergies before and the Claritin isn't helping at all.
I can go all day and never itch once, but the second I lay down at night (couch or bed) the itching starts and lasts for hours. It used to only happen about once a month, and has just gotten worse over the past few months, to where now I'm suffering every single night.
I'm a 22 and my diet isn't great but honestly it never has been. The itching has gone on for maybe 6 months or so and I am so discouraged and TIRED that I'm getting desperate!
Someone tell me I'm not crazy! Because honestly I'm starting to feel that way! I seem to have tried every suggestion that I've found while researching and have found no relief. Help me!!!! :((
