My Puppy Has A Large Bump/lump On His Head

Why does my pitbull puppy has a bump on the top of her head?

I have two pitbulls they both have the same bump right between their ears on the back of their skull. When I first noticed it I took my female pitbull to the vet she said it is just part of their skull. I would not worry about is unless it does hurt her when you touch it.

You may have just noticed if your pitbull is anything like mine are they bump their heads all of the time and it could have been larger due to some mild injury.

My dog hit her head and has a bump?

I have a 4 and 1/2 yr old chihuahua dog. Today we were playing and she was running around the living room and we have a coffee table that she usually runs under. Well today, she rammed herself right into it. At the time, she kind of made a whimpering/growling/barking noise when she hit herself. I started getting really worried because I didn't know if she was okay. Later maybe 30 minutes she got a little red bump on her head closer to her eyes but not exactly there. I called my dad and he told me to put vicks on the bump and that it should help the swelling. I did that and my sister and I thought it had helped. Well she still has the bump and it's still a little elevated on the head. She's been acting normal and eating and drinking and going to the bathroom fine. Do you think she'll be okay? What should I do? Thanks!

My minnow has a large lump on it's head. Please help!!.?

I noticed today, one of my minnow's (Cold water fish) has a very large red bump on the right side of it's head right near it's eye. Has anyone had this same problem with their fish? Please advice me on what to do, the lump looks really very sore!
Thanks.

Mastiff has bumps all over his snout and a lump on his head??!!?

First of all, that is one GORGEOUS dog! I have a Bull Mastiff.
My bull mastiff is 7 and he has lumps and bumps all over him. We take him to the vet once every few months to make sure they are okay though. Large breed dogs are prone to lumps and bumps. My bull mastiff has skin allergies and gets hot spots, rashes, bumps, etc. Take your dog to the vet, check them out, and just keep an eye on them. Make sure they don't grow at a rapid pace either. They will probably be nothing, but it is better to be safe than sorry! Plus, it will ease your nerves

Edit: I have to agree with you, they are addicting. No matter what he does wrong, I can never get mad because of that face of his!!

My english mastiff pup has a bump on her head?

Your puppy is growing pretty rapidly at this age, and many large breed dogs have the 'cone head' look during puppy-hood and adolescence.

Large and giant breed pups grow very quickly and they can look a bit out of proportion and 'gangly' for quite a while. They get all their bone growth and height etc. first, then they add the weight.

Even in puppies from the same litter there can be a distinct difference in looks, bone size etc., so the fact that your other mastiff doesn't have the same shape of head doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong. As she matures her head will get wider and the bump will be less noticeable.

I breed Rottweilers and there are always 'cone heads' in a litter. They often end up to be the adults with the biggest heads as their skull bone structure is bigger.

However, as you're worried I would suggest double-checking with your vet and telling them your concerns. I doubt they will mind putting your mind at rest, and should there actually be a problem they will be able to deal with it.

Best of luck with your puppy.

My dog grew a bone lump on upper back head?

She is a herding dog. Usually they have this "knob" on their back portion of their head. My Border Collie has one, My Aussie had one, the other "herding" dogs I know have them. It is quiet normal. You may not have noticed it because she was still growing. But if it really worries you, take her to the vet!
Good Luck :)

My puppy hit his head on the coffee table' and he has a knot on his head that wont go away, what should i do?

if you are that scared and worried you should get him checked out. What can it hurt. Better to be safe.
