My Supervisor Only Replied

My supervisor wrote me a very demeaning email... should i reply back?

On the one hand, you probably shouldn't be so easily offended. specially with email. It's very easy to read things into an email that weren't intended.

On the other hand, you can get this employer in a lot of trouble if you want. You mentioned that this is an unpaid internship? Do some Googling about unpaid internships and you will see what I mean. There are VERY strict laws about what an unpaid internship can consist of, and making you do actual hands-on work is not allowed unless it's all about teaching you rather than getting stuff done.

Someone just replied to my email with only my first initial in a business setting. Is this rude behavior?

No, it’s not rude. It’s a quick acknowledgment and actually polite for her to do, since she technically owed you no response. One of the executives I support signs all his business emails with his initials, both lower case. He addresses his emails with the recipient’s first initial often.I have seen people who sign their emails with only their first initials a few times. One of the guys I work for and I will send emails back and forth to each other with only first initials. He started it by signing his emails ‘E’ and I reciprocated; now I address all my emails to him with either ‘E’ or ‘Boss’. It’s a kind of friendly informality under those circumstances, since he uses his full name for his regular correspondence. To me it means we can relax and have more of a peer standing than a boss/employee relationship. (That impression is likely bolstered by the fact that we send random memes back and forth as well and aren’t afraid to use the f-bomb with each other, both of which practices he also initiated. I love this guy.)I seriously doubt this was done to/for you specifically; this kind of manager/executive tends not to put that much thought into anything mundane like that. They have their rhythms and habits and that’s just what they do.Incidentally, I also went to a job interview, sent thank you emails, and was then told I shouldn’t have contacted the employer directly. I was hired and am now into my second year there.Good luck!

What should I reply to my boss for ignoring or not replying to some important messages?

When written messages don’t get a response, try to speak by voice. Preferably face to face. If your boss has a secretary, make an appointment for a meeting. If your voice messages aren’t getting a response, and you can’t arrange a meeting or try to find your boss in person to ask in person, there isn’t much you can do except build a paper trail.“On January 29th, I asked you about the upcoming deadline on the XYZ project. That deadline is now less than a week away and I still don’t have your instructions.”“As I said in my email of February 2nd, I have not been given instruction on what to do about the XYZ deadline.”“The XYZ deadline is tomorrow, what do you want me to do about it?”The only other thing I can think of is to examine the quality of the messages you sent. Are you inundating your boss with too much information? A wall of text is daunting, and will often be left unread no matter how urgent it seems to you. Were you unclear about your needs or requirements? It may seem obvious to you, but don’t assume your boss understands what you mean — or what you need. Also think about whether you’re asking for help with things which you should be able to do for yourself. This happens sometimes.Or you may be sending text messages to someone who prefers email or even paper. That could be a serious problem. The best way to communicate with your boss is the method your boss uses to communicate with you — however rarely that happens.

Have you ever had a job but only lasted one day?

1 day employment

So after landing my new job as a Wal-Mart greeter,
a good find for many retirees, I lasted less than a day....

About two hours into my first day on the job a very loud,
unattractive, mean-acting woman walked into the store with her
two kids, yelling obscenities at them all the way through the entrance.
I said pleasantly, 'Good morning and welcome to Wal-Mart.
Nice children you have there. Are they twins?'
The ugly woman stopped yelling long enough to say,
'Hell no, they ain't twins. The oldest one's 9, and the other
one's 7.
Why the hell would you think they're twins? Are you blind, or
stupid?'
So I replied,
'I'm neither blind nor stupid, Ma'am, I just couldn't believe
someone slept with you twice. Have a good day and thank you for shopping
at
Wal-Mart.'
My supervisor said I probably wasn't cut out for this line of
work.

Human Resources- Religious Discrimination?

Vision Electronics has a well-published dress code, which states in part that "employees working directly with customers can only wear headwear officially approved by the company. Nadia El-Saher is employed by Vision Electronics and has worked two months as a customer service advisor with direct customer contact. Nadia is Muslim and stated that her religious custom requires that she cover her head. She asks that she be allowed to wear a scarf in order to comply with her religious requirements. When asked specifically what the rule is on wearing a scarf she responded, "You are supposed to keep your head covered at all times."

Since her employment, Nadia has worn a scarf only occasionally. In the past two weeks, her supervisor has observed her wearing a scarf only four times. Her supervisor comments that the scarf is more of a "bad-hair-day scarf." When asked why she doesn't wear a scarf on a daily basis, she replied that some days "she just doesn't." Consequently, Nadia has been told that she cannot wear the requested head covering. She has challenged management's position, claiming that her religious custom must be accommodated.

1.If you had to decide this case for the EEOC, how would you settle the charge?

2.Should management be allowed to ask Nadia when she must keep her head covered and what is permissible headwear?

How do I reply to my boss when he gives me a task to complete?

Just say,“Noted and well recieved Sir,I ll put in my 100% efforts to finish this task in the stipulated time assigned to me.”

What is the best reply if your boss asks, "How are you doing?" at the urinal?

Take advantage of the opportunity to get valuable face time with your boss. I'd recommend something like:"I was under a lot of pressure, but things seem to be flowing well now. I've got a firm grip on the situation and am seeing some good output. It may take awhile before I achieve completion, but it's important to take one's time in order to stay on target. I expect to wash my hands of the whole thing in the next several minutes."

What does it mean when your boss invades your personal space?

when i see him and we're alone, he does this: i was walking to the back to swipe in for my shift and he was by the fridge and said hey to me with a big smile and i replied with an hi but as i tried walking passed him he purposely got close too my face (as if i was being corned) i was agasint the fridge and couldnt back up even tho i tried, and he makes something up like "oh you walked right into me" as a joke when another supervisor (that i didn't see) walked by

My boss has yet to reply back to my resignation email..?

Unfortunately this type of response is not all that unusual. Some bosses, especially those who get along with their subordinates, may feel slighted by your choice to leave. They may take it as a betrayal. Of course, it is also the "holiday season" and the end of the year and many companies are typically very busy during this time, so it could be that your boss isn't intentionally trying to slight you. In either case, just remember that your boss is human too and is subject to their thoughts and emotions. If you've done everything reasonable and prudent and you've acted respectfully then there's not much else you can do except to know that you did the right thing and hope that your new employment prospects pan out better.

Also, they don't have to accept it before you coan work out your notice period. All that's required is that you submit it in writing.
