My Tooth At The Back Of My Mouth Is Small And Is Sore.

There's a tooth growing in the way back of my mouth, its just a bump [my gums are over it still] but it hurts!

If you already have all of your permanent teeth it is very likely that is your wisdom tooth.
You should have 14 teeth on the bottom and 14 on the top. If the extra one that is growing makes the number 15 then that is a wisdom tooth.

Usually wisom teeth grow without any problems however they can grow against the molars (back teeth) and as a result cause pain. It is said they are "impacting".
They can also cause inflammation and since it's right at the back you can swallow everything from there and that is definitely not good.

I think you should go to the dentist and have a radiograph (x-ray) taken to see if it is a wisom tooth and if its eruption will affect the other teeth. It's not a good sign if it's really paniful and a possible solution is taking it out.

It is very very common for people to have their wisdom teeth extracted.

However it depends on your case so I say visit the dentist and until then try so pain relief for the area.

Hope it goes well.

Loose gums at the back of my mouth?

Hi there ~

It sounds like a wisdom tooth is starting to cause you some problems.

When a wisdom tooth is only partially erupted, you can get a loose flap of gum tissue over it, called an operculum. This operculum traps food debris and plaque bacteria under it, because it is so hard to keep clean - like a protected little cave. This can set up a bacterial infection called pericoronitis.

Usually this presents with pain, and swelling - you mention nothing about swelling, so it's possible it's just a little inflamed. Try to keep the area clean, and rinse often (especially after meals) with warm salt water - 1 teaspoon of salt to a glass of warm water. Rinse it around very vigorously, then spit out.

If it doesn't resolve soon, or starts to get worse, especially with swelling, see the dentist. Pericoronitis can be treated with antibiotics, since it is bacterial in nature.

I've giving you some links below to check out.

Hope you feel better soon!~

Tooth hitting canker sore in the back of my mouth, can't close my jaw/mouth all the way because of it?

your dentist is correct. I have seen this with my job. It will take about another week to 10 days to go away. My suggestion is to go buy the chloraseptic sore throat spray. This spray contains an ingrediant called Phenol that numbs areas of the mouth simular to novicaine. It works better then you could imagine. Go buy this spray and spray it directly on the sore and you will be completely pain free. You will be so relieved to be able to close your mouth without being in pain all the time. Trust me and go get the spray, it works awsome. Let me know how it turns out, I promise you'll be thanking me later.

p.s. It comes in a red cherry flavor, the exact spelling of the product it Chloraseptic then underneath it says phenol/oral anesthetic.

Gum pain in the back of my mouth, behind the last tooth..?

The gum looks swollen and it kinda looks like a lump. It hurts a lot to eat, drink. swallow, and even talk.

any ideas on what could be wrong?

My tooth/gum hurts when I move my tongue back?

When I move my tongue back in my mouth (close to the roof of my mouth and towards the esophagus), my bottom teeth hurt (teeth 26/27 about) near my gums. It is a pretty sharp pain that causes me to wince when it happens, but it goes away very suddenly, and only happens when I move my tongue directly back. Do you have any idea what may have caused this or how to fix it? Thanks.

Can canker sores cause tooth pain? If so, why?

If you’ve ever had a canker sore, you know that these small mouth sores can cause major pain.A canker sore can show up on the inside of your lip or cheek, under your tongue or at the base of your gums. Usually, canker sores form one at a time, but sometimes they show up in a little cluster.Source: Do You Know You Can Reverse Your Teeth Cavities Naturally?Canker sores usually go away on their own and they’re not contagious. So no one can catch a canker sore by kissing you or sharing your drink.Canker sores are round and usually about the size of a kernel of corn (14 inch, or 6 millimeters), but they can be bigger. If you look in the mirror at your canker sore, it will be white or yellow with a red border. The inside of your mouth is delicate, so mouth injuries, such as biting the inside of your lip or brushing your teeth too hard, also seem to bring on canker sores.Cold sores (fever blisters) are a different kind of mouth sore and are caused by a virus. Cold sores and fever blisters often form outside the mouth, around the lips, on the cheeks or chin, or inside the nostrils of the nose. Unlike canker sores, those sores are contagious. There’s no sure way to prevent canker sores, but it’s a good idea to eat healthy, get enough sleep, and try not to get too worried or upset. Put canker sores on the list of things you don’t have to worry about. They hurt for a little while, but before you know it, they’ll be gone.

I'm 14 and the back of my jaw is sore. Is it my wisdom teeth? If so, how long does the pain last?

If the back of your jaw is sore for longer than a week, you need to be examined. It is a bit early for your wisdom teeth to come out at 14 years old, but it is certainly possible. If you wisdom teeth are indeed coming out, it might take years for them to fully develop. It all depends on how much room there is in the back of your mouth, and how your other teeth are positionedWisdom teeth hurt when they are trying to come out. As they move, the gum tissue over the tooth gets swollen and the opposing tooth starts biting on it that tissue, since it is high above the tooth attempting to come out, and will be in the way. The more pressure the opposing tooth puts on the gum, the more pain it will cause.  Also when it comes out half-way there will still be gum tissue over a part of it, and sometimes food and bacteria can get under it and get it infected.  In most cases you need to see a dentist as soon as possible to get you out of pain. Depending on  the root cause of the problem, the treatment could range from a simple bite adjustment via orthodontics or extraction. Wisdom tooth or .........?

From your description, it sounds like you have pericornitis. You haven't had your wisdom teeth out, yet they are trying to come in, so a small pocket of gum, where the tooth is exposed, keeps getting swollen and infected. The lower ones can't come in properly and the upper wisdom teeth overerupt damaging the gums.

This is very painful and is actually more painful than getting the wisdom teeth removed! Do yourself a favor, and stop suffering with them.

Attached is a longer explanation and remedy for the problem for both of you young people.

If I have pain on the bottom left side of my mouth, under my gums at the back of my mouth, what could it be? I am 14 and have my second molars.

Go to the dentist.Could be inflamation and infection, but what is causing it? Might be orthodontal problems or gum inflamation from stuck food (gengivitis). Only the dentist can tell.If it is gengivitis and you don’t take care of it early, it will progress to periodontitis which means irreversible damage: loss of gum tissue and loss of bone that supports the teeth, which eventually progresses to tooth loss.
