Need A Name For A Witch

I need evil witch names!?

I agree..Natasha is pretty evil! Look at it spelled backwards. Its Ah Satan!

Need name for a witch and a witch's spell book?

I'm writing a story about a girl, who finds a magical spell book, and discovers she has magical powers, and is later revealed to be the most powerful witch of all time. The spell book she finds is also revelaed to be her late mother's, who was also a witch, before she passed away. What I need now is a name for a spell book to use. and a name for a witch as well.

so far all I know of is The Book of Shadows, which is the most common name for a spell book, along with the Grimoire as well, and another spell book that I know of is called the Hexoren which is from a nickelodeon show called Every Witch Way, which in my opinion sounds a lot cooler for a spell book then The book of Shadows does.

If anyone could give me some magical sounding names for a spell book, that sound either similar to the Hexoren that would be greatly appriciated.

My main character's last name is Kezwick, and her younger sister's name is Ellowyn Luna, who likes to be called Elly for short. What kind of girl do you picture when you say the name "Ellowyn." (El-low-win)

Lol I need a good witch last name?

I'm making a family. Andd I have 'Blackwood' for the last name for the bad witches, but i am not sure.
So if you could suggest LAST names for Good witches and bad witches, thanks!

What are some good witch names?

You question is rather vague. Are you writing a story and want ideas on a name for a witch character in it? Are you a member of a group that requires you to have a "craft name?" If you are a member of the group, then why haven't they given you some direction? If you are a solitary practitioner, no separate name is necessary. If you are determined to have a "witch name" I would suggest that you do a vigil, a meditation, a vision quest, or something else along those lines that fits with the type of pagan you are. Do this expressly to discover what name you should use.Having people tell you some good witch names and choosing from them rather defeats the purpose. I expect you need to do a lot more research on this path. The internet is your friend and asking questions like this on Quora is a shortcut that is not in keeping with the personal growth required along this path.

What are some names of witch covens?

Clint gives a good answer, but I disagree with covens not usually having names. I hold degrees in two Traditions and teach at fests, so I meet literally hundreds of Wiccans. NEVER encountered any coven with no name. The word, “coven” means different things to different people. In Traditional Wicca, a coven is run by ordained 3rd degree clergy and has formal by-laws, clergy licensing and training, and offers a very specific curriculum of studies in (usually) three initiatory elevations. It is, in every sense, a very formally run congregation. Many covens also offer regular religious rituals, outings, field studies, family programming, and much more. But any group that gets together and calls itself “coven” is also a coven. In Witchcraft (not Wicca, which is a religion, but secular witchcraft), a group of witches who practice together is a coven. In vampire lifestyle groups, there are also “covens” and “houses.” So all these groups can use the word “coven,” but they are not remotely the same kinds of groups.“Some” names of Traditional covens in my Trad include:Spiral Tor Coven (mine)Raven Star CovenHearthstone CovenSerenity CovenPolaris CovenEvergreen CovenA coven’s name is very personalized and refers to what the coven actually does and stands for, so you don’t just go, “Hey, I thought of a cool name for a coven!” Coven leaders, in Traditional Wicca, anyway, consult with the Gods very often in selecting a coven name. Coven names are endless in variety.

Can a male be a witch?

Yes, males can be witches. What’s even cooler is that a male witch was called “wicce” in the Old Tradition — female witches were called “wicca”. Both terms meant “wise folk”, regardless of the gender, and followed the Crede:“An’ it harm none, do as Ye will.”Today’s “Wicca” was started in the 1950s by Gerald Gardner, who was more focused on making the Olde Ways sexy and cool. By that, I mean he preferred his acolytes young, pretty, and female. Men were accepted as well, but not seen with the same fervor. Regardless of gender, a Gardnerian witch is simply called “Wiccan”.Male witches are also known in other parts of the world as “shaman”, “sage”, “oracle”, “priest”, “prophet”, “medicine man”. Although it’s commonly believed that males do spells and summon demons and walk through multidimensional portals and talk to snakes… we’re nowhere near that exciting. Some Quora members have mentioned the term “warlock”. Roughly translated, it means “oathbreaker”; regardless of gender, broken promises aren’t taken lightly… especially if you break the Crede in doing so.However, just because you’re a male witch doesn’t automatically mean you’re a warlock, or the Devil’s plaything. We don’t even have a Devil in our pantheon… we have something far more terrifying:The consequences of choices made by our own free will.

Good names for a Witch's familiar?

I like the name Selena. It is of Greek origin, and the meaning of Selena is "the moon". Mythology: Selena was the moon goddess, sister to Helios, the sun. A variation of the name is Salena, which would compliment Salem.

As far as weaknesses, the other poster said it all. Witches have human hearts and can be swayed by emotion.

Good luck with your book.
