I need help translating a few sentences into Vietnamese?

I'm creating a photo book to send back to my parents' parents in Vietnam, and would like to include this on the cover. If anyone could translate it, that would be terrific! Thanks!

"From our family to yours, we hope that you have a wonderful holiday season and an amazing new year! May your lives be filled with happiness, joy, and prosperity this year and in the years to come!"

Also, if anyone knows a good quote about family, that would be nice too! (In vietnamese) Thanks so much!!

Urgent need of vietnamese translation?

1) Have you eaten dinner yet?
2) What are you doing? (ji is supposed to be spelled gi)
3) (I think the last word is missing an m, making it em.) Are you free right now? Is that why you're messaging me? (There's no direct translation, but that's basically what it means.)
4) Just stay over there and take care for your career. When you have the chance to visit Viet Nam, we will see each other.
5) (I'm filling in the missing letters myself, but I think this is it. e: em; a: anh) I'm saying that when you come back to Viet Nam, I will spend time (hang out) with you.

How do you translate this sentence from vietnamese to english?

There are many ways to translate these sentences because in different situations the meaning is different.
- "Me thay roi" can be translated as I found it or I've got it. In this sentence "Me" means Mother, a mother said to her children: I found it or I've got it.
- "Muon me lam gi dau" can be translated as the children said to his mother: I want you to do nothing.
- "bo tay" means: stuck in doing something or have no idea about something.

They can be translated differently because Vietnamese uses punctuations:

- Me thay roi = Mẹ thấy rồi
- Muon me lam gi dau: muốn mẹ làm gì đâu or mượn mẹ làm gì đâu, or muốn mẹ làm gì đầu (tiên) = Which ones would you like me to do first?
- bo tay = bó tay

In general, in different situations, the meaning is not the same.

Is there a 100% accurate way to translate Vietnamese to English? None of the online translators are able to translate conversations that include slang and common terms used in chats.

There is no easy and 100% accurate way to translate text with slang words from one language to another, unless the text is relatively simple. Some statements people make in Vietnamese chats require a lot of built-in cultural understanding that sometimes even confuse a native Vietnamese speaker who are not part of the “in” crowd. For example:“Phim Số Em Xui quá hãi”(Literal: The movie “My Unlucky Fate” is too scary; Meaning: That adult movie is terrible - initials of the name of the movie is S E X)“Tới đó coi chừng thổ dân”(Literal: Beware of the natives there; Meaning: Watch out for the nasty people - thieves/rude people/…)“Não phẳng là đi tàu sáu tấm”(Literal: Flat brain is going on six-piece boat; Meaning: Death comes for the stupid - “tàu sáu tấm” is slang for the coffin)“Vở kịch này rất tân cổ giao duyên”(Literal: This play has a harmonious mix of new and old; Meaning: This play is a nonsensical hodpodge of new and old)

What is the Vietnamese translation for "white person"?

I agree with these ideas:Hai Tran: Formal: Người da trắng (người = person, da = skin, trắng = white)Casual: Tây if address a foreigner (which literally means Western)Also Hạnh-Minh NguyễnIf distinguishing the two races is necessary, then"Tây đen" to indicate black Westerner,"Tây trắng" for white Westerner.IMPORTANT NOTE:Use these terms with extreme care. Both these formal or informal words CAN imply racism. Hope this helps :)dohuyngoc's public profile
