My 16 month old daughter calls everyone Mama?
Hi everyone! My daughter calls everyone mama. even strangers at the grocery store. She says it with a little bit more excited with me though. But she does it with my step mom and her grandpa. I know she loves me and knows I am her mom. But it bothers me a little when she sees her grandma and says mama. Is this normal? How long will it last, and why does she do this?

My 16-month-old daughter has been banging her head off the floor?
for the last few days, whenever i tell my daughter not to do something (bounce on the couch, play with the tv, etc.) she's been banging her head off of the floor or the wall, along with screaming at me. she's never done anything like this before, and she's freaking me out. i realize kids throw temper tantrums, but isn't this a bit extreme? can anybody help me please?? i don't know what to do with her, and i don't want her to hurt herself.

Absolutely not!!! Speech pathology for children that young is a major gimmick.The first thing I learned in my Communication Disorders classes is to wait until a child is around the age of 6-7 to get them any help..even then, the problem can often fix itself. No child under 5 should ever be seen by a speech pathologist unless it is a language issue or a severe, obvious speech disorder.The only problem that needs to be addressed immediately (regarding speech) is tounge thrust, and your child is still too young to be diagnosed with that being that I'm sure they're still sucking on a pacifier.
How do I discipline my 16 month old ??
Yesterday in the nursey at chruch , my 16 month old daughter knocked this little girl down and dragged her by her hair !! Then smacked some little boy in the face , and scrached him ... When she doesn't get her way she throws herself on the ground and sreams "no" , she is only 16 months old , how is it possable for her to be so mean ?! She is never around other children (except my 3 week old , who she doesn't mess with ) , and never around anyone who is violent .. Is it normal for her to be so mean so young ?? Don't get me wrong she's a very sweet baby , (most of the time ) and she gets attention all of the time , I don't want to spank her she seems to young , and how hipacritical would it be to spank her and then say "don't hit " ... What would you do in this situation ??
