Need Urgent Physics Help

Need urgent physics help???????

a car is traveling at 60mi/h (a) what magnitude of acceleration does it need to have to come to a complete in distance off 200 ft?
(b) what acceleration does it need to stop in 200 ft if traveiling at 100 mi/h?

Need urgent physics help?

distance = 5cm

3.4 X 0.05 = 0.17kN

I need urgent physics help?!?

I came along this problem when studying for a test and i can't figure out part B

A glider of mass 0.150 kg moves on a h...‡ less horizontal spring, which has a forc...‡

for part A i got 1.47m/s using a formula i derived from the problem (x*sqrt(k/m) i tried applying this to part B and got 2.04 but i the answer is supposed to be 1.35 please help

(sorry i posted this question before but deleted it before anyone could give me an answer)
any help is appreciated

Urgent Physics Help Needed - Newton?

The dogs rotate their bodies back and forth vigorously. Because of inertia, the water clinging to their hair continues moving tangentially as they snap their bodies back quickly in the opposite direction. Some people may tell you that the water comes off because of "centrifugal force," but if you get close enough and watch carefully, you'll see that RATHER than moving radially outwards from the dogs' centres, the water is in fact moving TANGENTIALLY from their CIRCUMFERENCES!

Live long and prosper.

Physics question needs urgent help?

The energy is small enough that you can just use classical mechanics.

By symmetry, each Helium atom gets half the energy:
T = E/2 = 1/2 mv^2

solve for speed:
v = sqrt (E/m)

and momentum:
p = mv = sqrt (mE)

Convert the masses from amu to kg and the energy from keV to J. Plugnchug.

Doppler problems? Wavelength?

Vsound=330m/s @ 0 degrees C
V sound = 0.6m/s per degrees C
c= 2.998 x 10^8 m/s

1) A flash of lightning is seen and the sound of the resulting thunder is heard 3.50 seconds later. The temperature of the air is 30 degrees C. How far away is the lightning?

2) How much time is required for sound to travel 3.00 km if the temoerature of the air is 20 degrees C?

3) What is the wavelength, in meters, of the sound produced by a tuning fork which has a frequency of 288 Hz? The temperature of the air is 23 degrees C?

The angular momentum is constant. Angular momentum = angular velocity times moment of inertia. So

ω0*I0 = ω1*I1

ω1 = (I0/I1)*ω0

Since I1/I0 = 3/4, ω1 = (4/3)*ω0

Thus the rotation will be 1.33 rotations per second.

I need urgent help with a physics question!?

Question #1
A 3.4-kg solid sphere, made of metal whose density is 4600 kg/m3, is suspended by a cord. The density of water is 1000 kg/m3. When the sphere is immersed in water, the tension in the cord is closest to:

37 N
26 N
30 N
33 N
41 N

Why do I need physics to be a surgeon?

If you don’t take Physics in college, you will never get into medical school, at least in the United States. Without an MD degree, you won’t be a surgeon.It’s as simple as that.If you had asked why medical schools ask for Physics as a prerequisite course, that’s a little more complicated. The main qualities that medical schools look for in their students are intelligence, good working memories and the ability to work hard and get good grades. They also want some affinity or ability in these subjects since the profession is an applied science that requires both deductive reasoning and the ability to use scientific principles to solve problems. Lastly, they need filters to parse out those who will make it through medical school and those who won’t.Physics, Organic Chemistry, Math and Biology - subjects that are hard - help distinguish those students who fit the criteria from those that don’t. While they will have some direct application to medicine, that’s not the real reason you have to take them. They mimic the types of courses you will take in medical school in order to become a professional, courses that will have both a practical and professional value as opposed to just getting an “A” for your GPA. As a professional you will have both an intellectual and emotional/non-logical relationship with the domain knowledge. If you can’t handle it in college, the assumption is that you can’t in medical school where the information is much more important.Hence the prerequisite of sciences such as Physics. Medical schools don’t want their students to fail out so they are very selective.

Need urgent help with this physics problem...Help please?

We have to assume the bar has attained a steady-state temperature distribution. In that case, and assuming no heat is lost out of the "sides" of the bar (i.e., heat is only transferred along the length of the bar), the temperature in the bar is a linear function of distance along the bar. That is, the temperature gradient, dT/dx, is a constant.

If dT/dx is a constant, then we can also say that delta-T/delta-x is a constant, so:

(23 C - 11 C)/0.13m = (48 C - 11 C)/L

where L is the length of the bar.

Solving for L yields:

L = 0.401 m
