Never Before Seen Species Of Fly

What species of fly have stingers?

It was not a fly if it had a true stinger.

It could have been a wasp.

Scorpion flies though LOOK like they have a stinger. But they do not.

There are a few others too that look like they have a stinger, and some wasps that look similar to flies (called sawflies).

BTW I forgot to mention that saw flies do not have a true stinger either.

EDIT

This is probably what you saw....A type of robber fly. It is a true fly, but what appears to be the 'stinger' is not a stinger.

What is this insect? (fly? ant? spider?)?

They invaded my cargo trailer :( I don't know if they are native to my area of the Pacific Northwest as I had never seen them before. They look like a fly and even have wings, except they don't fly. They behave more like ants or a web-less species of spider. They have a black body with white dots and are fairly small in size, maybe a 1/4 inch to 3/8 max.

Why are geese flying north in early December?

I live in upstate NY and it has never been a big deal to see large numbers Canadian geese fly south by winter and north by spring. However in the last 2-3 years they have mobbed this area all year'round, and today 12/01/12, I observed huge numbers heading directly north. Must have been close to 500 of them. What is up with that? Does anyone have a clue?

(macro) Evolution deniers explain ring species?

MACROevolution has even been CAUSED by scientists in a New England lab at some college (I don't remember which): they took a large population of a multicellular but microscopic life that reproduced sexually and divided it in several parts. The first stayed in its original environment, and the others were each put into slightly different environments.

Some environments died out, but when others got populous enough, the scientists divided them again. After more than a year of adaptation, the ones from a new environment were reintroduced to the originals. They COULD not successfully mate. They were a new species, never before seen on Earth!
Science is God!

What type of fly has a stinger?

Recently I saw a housefly with what looked like a stinger (it had got into my glass of water right after I poured it). I've never seen one like that before. It looked just like a regular fly but hanging off it's backside was what looked like a stinger. It was colored the exact same as the rest of the fly so I am sure it wasn't feces. I would like to know what kind of fly that was out of curiosity. (btw, I threw the glass of water away along with the fly) Thank you for any help you can give me.
