New Industrial Piercings

How to soothe industrial piercing?

yep. thats an industrial for you. it's going to feel like that for about a week. take some aspirin and do some warm sea salt soaks (1/4 tsp sea salt to 1 cup warm water) every day for about 5 minutes for the entire healing process. the salt soaks will prevent infection and help with swelling. after the soaks you can always put ice on it also. that should help with swelling and pain. but make sure to soak your ear. dont use a qtip or cotton ball. sooaaakkk the ear. it softens the crusties and gets rid of them and prevents them from getting in your piercing, which causes infection. but some aspirin, sea salt soaks and ice should help a ton with the pain. also try not to sleep on it. it will irritate the piercing!

New Industrial Piercing Forming Puss?

I recently got my industrial pierced about 2 weeks ago and i have been following the after care that my piercing told me. 2 daily soaks in warm water and sea salt. probably two days ago i noticed that after doing my sea salt soaks in warm water, the inside of my top hole has been getting a white-yellowish puss coming out. throughout the day i dont find that the puss comes, but only after doing the mandatory soaks. i was reading and everyone that said they had an infection said they had this puss. i thought that this was normal, but now im getting scared thinking i may have an infection forming? im following all the instructions and only have the occasional bumps to the ear. besides that everything else seems to be good, it isnt burning (unless hit) and i dont sleep on it. could this still be an infection??
thank you in advance!!

How to take a shower with industrial piercing?

You just simply take a shower. Like normal. Sometimes your hair will get wrapped around the top, you just have to carefully unwind it.

Honestly the industrial was the most painful piercing that I've had. As far as getting it done, it wasn't so bad. There was a lot of blood but the paid was manageable. The real pain came the next day. I felt like my whole ear was going to fall off and it wasn't even infected. I strongly considered taking it out so the pain would stop but after about a week the pain was gone.

Just make sure to clean it and twist it often because you do not want it getting infected.

Bruise below my new industrial piercing?

There is a small (about 2mm x 4mm) bruise below one of the exit holes of my industrial piercing, it is the one on the back of my ear where the barbell ends, if that makes sense. It isn't on the actual piercing but right below it. I got it pierced at a prestigious piercing and tattoo studio (they are members of the APP). Is this normal? They are closed sundays and mondays so I can't call them until tuesday. I was using a hand held mirror while infrount of a wall mirror to clean the back of it so I could see it and I found the bruise. Is this weird? Should I be worried? It's not any more sore than I would expect from a new cartilage piercings.

My new industrial piercing is non stop bleeding!?

Hey Im a piercer and this happends to alot of industrial piercings, its normal.

But bleeding non stop for four hours, if not light, isn't too good. But it can be normal too, just depends on the way your body reacts to piercings. Obviously if its pouring with blood, like really heavy go to the piercer or a docotor! As some people can snag a main vein in their ears which causes bad bleeding.

The pressure from an industrial bar can put undue strain on your ear and the piercing wounds, so you can be better going back to your piercer and having the bar removed and two surgical steel rings or regular sized surgical steel bars put in until their healed, then have the industrial bar put in.

But for the maintime, just keep just keep wiping the blood off with clean tissue, dont touch the bar! Before you go to bed clean it carefully with sea salt water. Put a clean, soft cotton cover or tshirt over your pillow because the blood.

In the morning carefully wipe the dried blood off the bar with a cotton bud soaked in sea salt water. Then clean the piercing again before you go to bed.

If the bleeding doesnt die down or subside in the next 5 days I would advise going to your piercer for advice. Dont play with the bar, just leave it and see how it goes. Good luck :)

Sleeping on an industrial piercing?

Alright so school's almost out and my plan is to get my industrial on my right ear asap so that when school comes back in session if it gets bumped a little or someone touchs it, my ear won't hurt as badly as it would if I get it say...two weeks before school's in. I have a cliche cartiledge piercing high up on my left ear and I had that about a week maybe two and I could sleep on it fine. So how bad is the burden to sleep on an industrial?

Is it normal for my industrial piercing to bleed!?

Nope that's perfectly fine. I have an industrial myself, and it was perfectly fine the first few days then after the first 3 days, it started getting really crusty as well as having some dried blood around the piercing. Plus, i know other people who have industrials, and when they first got it pierced it randomly bleed a lot the second or third day it was pierced. If it continues to bleed A LOT really really often, then that would be a problem. But if it only bleeds occasionally, or if there's just some dried blood around the bar after sleeping or something, that's normal and will happen for about the first month or so. Good luck!
