Can I name my baby boy after his deceased brother?
Can and should are two different things. Can you? Yes you are the parents and can do whatever you want in terms of naming your child.Should you is another question. If you name this child the same as his sibling will you be able to think of him as his own person, or will you compare him to the ideal that you wanted for your first child?How will you explain to the child that he and his brother have the same name? It will come up, if for no other reason than a friend or relative will be shocked when you call him that name and they have heard that the child is dead. They will want an explanation and, depending on the age of the child, he will want one to.Not to mention that the child may run into complications with officials who research him by his name only to discover that he died 2 years prior to his listed date of birth. This is a common thing done by con artists. research the name of a dead child and then assume that person’s identity to hide their own. Since the child died young most people will not be aware of it. But officials search more closely now because of it’s popularity amoung identity thieves.

It's one of my top 10 names for a girl :) It can work for a boy as well, but when people hear his name (at school, or wherever..) they may assume that he's a girl (ie. substitute teachers - "Jade. Where is she?") Anyone who knows him would be OK with it, I'm sure.. for boys I also LOVE Jay (my brother's name), Shael (my cousin), Jasper, or Jett.. I'd stay away from Jaden/Jayden because it is super common right now...
