What is the difference between oceanic and continental crust?

Meet basalt:Image SourceBasalt is a dark dense rock that makes up the oceanic crust. It is composed of silicon, oxygen and magnesium. At 3 grams per cubic centimeter, basalt is not much more dense than the mantle of which it floats, and therefore is relatively thin at 5 to 10 km (3–6 miles) deep. Any thicker and it would tend to settle deeper into the mantle and the bottom melts.Meet granite:Image SourceMost of the continental shelf is made of granite, a light coloured stone comprised mainly of silicon, aluminum, and oxygen. At 2.6 grams per cubic centimeter, it is less dense than basalt, and therefore floats higher on the mantle. It ranges in thickness from 35 km to as much as 70 km (20–40 miles) in some of its mountainous areas.Image SourceBecause of their relative densities, the oceanic crusts tend to be the plates that are subducted (sinking) where plates meet. This results in much younger oceanic crusts, as they tend to get recycled, while the continental crusts remain buoyant. The continental crusts are much older than the oceanic crusts.Difference Between Oceanic and Continental Crust

For Earth Science (9th grade), I need to know everything about the Black Canyon of Gunnison.?

If your teacher (maybe) and librarian don't like wikipoedia but you can't find any other good sites for the info, you haven't looked very hard. There is a box on this page entitled 'search the web'. All you have to do is type Black Canyon of Gunnison into that slot, hit the 'enter' button and you'll be knee deep in information.
The reason your teacher (maybe) and librarian don't like wikipedia is because it is an unreliable source of information. It is made up of 'facts' that people put on the internet, which may or may not be genuine.

How can we combat climate change?

The first and foremost step is to make people aware of their responsibilities towards environment.Climate change is basically due to people's misconception and less Awareness towards the environment. Because the world has already number of problems, no doubt climate change is its self major problem. But it's effect has not been that dominant to our daily life style. We can easily avail to our basic needs and energy source. When climate change will begin to affect our daily life (though many parts around the world has started to experience) then the people automatically become aware of it. But it would be too late then. It might be so dangerous. As the famous saying prevention is better than cure. we should start from right now and this point of time to preserve our energy sources. Remember climate change is most urgent issue that threats from all the human beings to entire species. Each and every one must understand this and make their own life problem and they should worry about future generations, for their energy sources.Remember this solution I suggested is beginning (first step) not end.Hope it helps!
