Persuasive Presentation On Becoming Vegetarian

Persuasive speech about becoming a vegetarian?

You've chosen a really tough subject that a lot of people have strong objections to. I would try to focus less on animal welfare (maybe include how how they are fed growth hormones, antibiotics, etc), and focus more on the health benefits, as that is something more students will care about. Just be ready for the redneck hunter in the back row to start talking about the bambi he hunted last weekend...don't lose your cool. Try not to be too passionate, just intellectual. I've included some resources for you below. Good luck!
Good opening quotes:
Einstein:
"Nothing will benefit human health and increase the
chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the
evolution to a vegetarian diet."
Paul McCartney:
If slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be a vegetarian.
K.D. Lang:
We all love animals. Why do we call some "pets" and others "dinner?"

P.S. I would use PETA as a resource, but I wouldn't mention them in my speech, as most people have a negative opinion about them.

Good attention grabber for a persuasive vegetarian speech?

It really depends upon the content of the rest of it. You could sum up your previous points saying '...and those are the reasons why you should make becoming a vegetarian your new year's resolution.' Or something like that.
You could quote figures for numbers of animals killed? That would be attention grabbing. Maybe say how vegetarians help continue animal life by saying that by not eating meat but by consuming their products (like milk etc) we encourage farmers to breed more of the animals which helps?
I guess just anything which could shock the audience.

Persuasive essay attention getter on being a vegetarian?

Do you want to live longer? Have a food budget 50% below the average American? Maintain an appropriate weight? Have healthy Skin, Hair, and nails? QUIT EATING DEAD ANIMALS!

That should get your teachers attention. :-)

Catchy intro for a vegetarian persuasive presentation?

How about this as an intro to your vegetarian persuasive speech, "Upon seeking a catchy phrase to get your attention for this vegetarian presentation, I was reminded what it feels for a fish to be "catched"; the hook ripping his mouth apart while he struggles, deepening the wound."

Need help on Persuasive Speech about vegetarians?

Groovykarma: Bill Clinton went pescetarian, not vegetarian (let alone vegan). Granted, he only eats fish once in a while, but even once in a while makes him a non-vegetarian. I'm glad, however, that he's taken the step of completely reforming his diet for the sake of his health and, more importantly, spoken publicly of it. Because he's such a well-known (and, for the most part, well-respected) person throughout the world, he has much more influence on others than you or I do (and a much wider audience). If he can make even just a few people rethink their diets and stop eating themselves into a triple-bypass, then it's a very good thing (for themselves and, ultimately, for the several years' worth of animals they would otherwise have gorged themselves upon).

Now on to the question.

What are some suitable, persuasive, entertaining, inspirational, and informational speech topics for Toastmasters?

It depends. What are your interests? What are you passionate about? What are your hobbies?Persuasive speaking means speaking from your heart about a subject that may (or may not) be considered controversial. You try to bring your audience to your way of thinking and end with a call to action. I've heard speeches that were pro-life, donating blood or adopting a pet. I gave a persuasive speech on becoming a vegetarian.Demonstrative speeches are pretty easy. What do you know how to do that you can inform others of? How to cook a nourishing meal, how to stay hydrated in a marathon race, how to tie a bow tie, how to create a chart from an excel spreadsheet, the subjects are endless.Entertaining speeches? Keep it clean!Inspirational speeches? Try listening to a few of them and then come up with something that inspires you, or how you overcame a difficulty and went on to succeed. The important thing to remember is that your speeches should be yours. They would sound insincere if you tried to copy someone else's speech without experiencing it.

What are the ways to persuade vegetarian to eat meat?

Why the hell would you do that in the first place? Being vegetarian is a personal choice that is to be respected. By persuading other people to eat what is against their conviction you prove yourself to be nothing better than completelly ignorant.

How can I convince my family to not become vegetarian?

Your parents are right; vegetarianism is, for the most part, healthier and better for the environment. And Janet Clifford and others are correct in pointing out that while you're eating at your parents' table, you're going to have to eat what they buy and cook. One thing you may have not considered is cost. Meat is expensive. Perhaps your parents are also trying to save money? I know fresh fruits and veggies are expensive, too, and I don't know your family situation, but it's possible that the economy has something to do with it.I'd try to find out why your parents want you to eat vegetarian. Maybe it's important to them, or maybe it's more important for the whole family to eat this way. Do they forbid or discourage you from eating meat outside the home? If not, you may be able to finagle some meat with your meals.Have you asked them if they'd consider preparing meat just for you? It's easy enough to cook up a chicken breast or steak on the side, which you can enjoy along with the family's lentil casserole or whatever. You could offer to pay and cook your own meat. It's not that hard to cook meat. I eat meat pretty much every day for dinner, usually in a stir fry or as part of a salad, and it's very simple. Your parents could show you, or you could easily find a YouTube video or illustrated recipe book with instructions.I see you're 16. I have an 18-year-old cousin, and he claims he has to eat meat at every meal, otherwise he gets hungry too quickly. Your parents may not remember what it's like to be a growing teenage boy. The hunger argument may spark some parental guilt which could be the "in" you're looking for.Other idea (and this is a bit out there) is taking up fishing. If you caught your own fish, you'd have your own supply of meat (well, fish) that's probably going to be just as healthy and earth-friendly as their veggie meals (unless they are going super-organic and local with everything). Good luck.
