Pocket Bike Legality In Illinois

Pocket Bike Illinois Legality Issue!!?

Probably not legal, although this is based upon local law... At the very least, the State requires you to wear eye protection when you are riding your 'speed machine'.. I did not have time to check, but registration and a title (and perhaps a license plate) may also be required. I would check with the local municipal law first because it is very likely that they prohibit these types of vehicles on sidewalks if that fails then check the state - online at www.ilga.gov here are some relevant parts that I found..

(625 ILCS 5/1‑145.001) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 1‑148)
Sec. 1‑145.001. Motor driven cycle defined: Every motorcycle and every motor scooter with less than 150 cubic centimeter piston displacement including motorized pedalcycles.
(Source: P.A. 90‑89, eff. 1‑1‑98.)

(625 ILCS 5/11‑1404) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 11‑1404)
Sec. 11‑1404. Special equipment for persons riding motorcycles, motor driven cycles or motorized pedalcycles.
(a) The operator of a motorcycle, motor driven cycle or motorized pedalcycle and every passenger thereon shall be protected by glasses, goggles or a transparent shield.

Super pocket bike made legal in PA...can it be done if i get a good bike?

Maybe.
In searching through Penndot's info, it looks like you might.
You will not spend $700, it will be more. You must at least change the tires.
It will be classed as a motorcycle. It must pass a motorcycle safety inspection. You must be insured and licensed to operate a motorcycle.
I'm sure the insurance will be an issue.

I still don't understand why people insist on running these toys on the street. You will do all that's needed to ride a motorcycle, pay extra to modify a new machine, and still not really have anything worth riding.
Why not buy a real motorcycle instead?
Easier. No extra mods. Repair support. Etc.

Dual exhaust on a single?

What is the legal age to ride a dirt bike?

I don't think there is a legal age limit.
