Question About Takamine Guitar

Takamine guitars?

Great guitars - I've had one for about 8 years. I bought it because I was doing more acoustic gigs. I played every acoustic / electric at Guitar Center under $1000. into an acoustic amp and the Takamine NT4 pick-up system was the best - no question. The best sounding one unplugged was their cedar top one (EAN10C)
The Bruce Springstein "Sessions" concert was just on TV - and every guitarist but one had a Takamine - 1 guy played a Taylor.
Very close are the Alvarez "Artist Series". You might check those out too.

I have some questions about my Takamine Jasmine S34C guitar?

1) you could break the string if you tightened it too much or if the string is old and gets brittle or weak but in normal tuning and with a new set of strings this should not happen for a good while in normal use and normal everyday playing...

2) Those little pegs or "ball things" as you call them hold the strings down so they can be held in place and extended over the bridge and align them evenly spaced to then stretch over the fretboard and the neck and to the tuning keys which allow you to tighten them and tune them to the right pitch while being held in place. Yes, when the strings are replaced or need to be reset, you can loosen the string so as to get some play in the string and then the peg can be pulled up and then pushed back in the hole at the back of the bridge to then hold the string snug for you to then tune. I would suggest that you visit a guitar shop and talk to a salesman or a musician there for the proper way for you to change strings,

3) The correct word is chord and I'm not sure if the buzz is from the electronics if you have an electric type guitar or if the buzz you describe is caused by loose strings that are vibrating on the fretboard and causing this type noise. Again a salesman or musician at a guitar shop would be able to help you with this. Best to you and happy picking to you...

Is the Takamine G340SC a good guitar?

I run Takamines. I stand by them because they have good quality, great tone and fair price. I currently own two taks.

What do you know about a Takamine N-15 Acoustic Guitar?

$350 sounds like a pretty good deal. the N-15 was a good guitar, it had natural wood binding instead of plastic like most others.

i own a late 70's takamine 12 string, its basically a martin hd-28 copy. fantastic guitar. very loud, and it's made really well.

basically, almost any takamine sounds good, as long as it's not the bottom of the line models. and, it comes with a case. go for it.

Takamine Jasmine s34c guitar?

In general, Takamine/Jasmine guitars are good entry level instruments as compared to brands as Ibanez and Yamaha models of the same quality and price ranges.

To buy anything over the Internet shopping/shipping system can be of risk for the fact you don't have the opportunity to have it first in your hands to look it over and try it out for yourself. Pictures, descriptions and price comparisons are not always on the mark.

It would be worth your effort, time and expense to best go to a music store, and with someone who is already into guitar playing to help make a choice, even for the Jasmine you may have in mind to start out with.

The 'set up' refers to making any adjustments to string height, nut and bridge saddle changes or smoothing out any rough edges of the fret wires on the fingerboard to make playing that much more comfortable for ease of learning, physically.

You could probably have a set up done on any guitar but have a professional do this, spending a little more money to have things as good as possible for whatever guitar you end up with. It can make the world of difference, even with the least of quality and price instruments on the market.

What type of guitar strings for my Takamine s35?

I'm a total guitar noob and recently picked up my guitar that was gathering dust for about 3 years, and while i trying to tune it i snapped my 4th string. My question is what kind of strings does my Takamine s35 need? does it matter? and if possible something cheap I'm only a beginner so i don't need anything fancy.

I have a problem of my Takamine G Series Guitar.?
