Question About Working Out At Home

GCSE Maths Question: Working out the mean...?

The table shows the no of students in 3 groups attending a high skl last Mon. No student belonged to more than 1 group.

Group A: 135 students
Group B: 225 students
Group C: 200 students

A teacher carried out a survey on the students travelling times from home to skl that Mon. She worked out that:

- The mean time for group A students was 24 minutes;
- The mean time for group B students was 32 mins;
- The mean time for group C students was the same as the mean time for all 560 students

...Work out the mean time for all 560 students?

Thank youuuuu

Math questions ?????? working out needed?

well...
all you have to do is solve both sides.
2(3x + 4)=2(x-10)
6x+8=2x-20
this was pretty easy. now you have to put both Xs on the same side

6x-2x=-20-8

notice that when a term goes to the other side of the equation, the sign in front of it changes (+8 changed to -8)
now all you have to do is the simple math

4x=-28

now divide both sides by 4 (because you want x, not 4x)
this leaves you
x= -7

QUESTION 2
if the first sheet has pages 1,2,71,72, the second sheet should have 3,4, 69,70
the 3rd sheet has 4,5,67,68.
now u count on using the first page number for each sheet
4th=6,7
5th=8,9
6=10,11
7th sheet = 12,13
8th sheet=14,15
9th sheet= 16,17
10th sheet=18, 19

now if we go back to the start of the question, the first sheet had 1,2,71,72
the second sheet had 3,4, 69,70. adding the first page number and the last page number of every sheet should get you 73. so in the 10th sheet (where we found page 19)
the first number is 18. 73-18=55.

therefore the 10th sheet has page numbers, 18,19,54,55
and therefore the sheet with 19 also has 18, 54,55

QUESTION 3

this doesnt make sense. im sorry, but i dont understand it.

hope this helps!!

What are your (setup) tips for working out at home?

If you insist on working out at home, here are a few tips for you:Get a Professional TrainerPersonal trainers can help you with:Assessing your current state and helping you set short term and long term goals.Teaching the fundamentals of nutrition and fitness to you.Creating a workout program with your personal goals in mind.Demonstrating how to perform all the exercises safely and effectively.Helping in the purchase of quality home gym equipment.Don't buy scam workout equipmentMany of the "as seen on TV" exercise products and machines that claim to help you lose weight and get fit rapidly are, for the most part, garbage. Buy products that you have tried yourself and make sure you purchase them from a store with a return policy so you can return them if you don't see any results.Plan Ahead For Your WorkoutYou should plan to workout at a specific time each day and you should stick to it. Don't make excuses not to workout. Do not allow yourself to be distracted by the telephone or other things during your workout. Your focus should be 100% on exercise during the time you are working out.Plan Your Meals In AdvanceSo you don't have any excuses to fall off the nutritional wagon, always plan your meals out in advance. Eating the right foods at mealtime only takes a few minutes. Surprisingly, you can eat a lot of healthy food in the same amount of time it takes you to eat the same amount of junk food. Most importantly, don't skip any meals. Skipping meals can slow down your metabolism and throw your body off schedule. These are but a few tips you should keep in mind if you want to benefit from your home gym program. Can you get ripped from working out at home?

As other posters have said, you need to eat a serious amount of food to battle your fast metabolism. Make sure you eat at least 500 calories above your daily maintenance calories.
Take a protein shake 30 min before you workout, and another no later than 30 min after.

In terms of your exercise routine, it's unlikely the dumbbells you have at home will be heavy enough to tax your muscles (or at least you'll outgrow them really quickly).
Stick to a proven bodyweight strength programme. Have a look at the basic routine at http://www.StartBodyweight.com
Since your goal is hypertrophy (muscle building), not strength specifically, change all the rep ranges from 4-8 to 8-12.
This is commonly thought to be a better range for gaining muscle.
Stick to rest periods of between 1 and 2 min.
I hope this helps!

Can you get "built" by only working out at home?

Yes you absolutely can get built by working out at home. You just need to have the motivation and willpower to force yourself to stick to regularly doing your exercise regime. Here is a free insane arms building video book that has many exercises you could do from home http://bit.ly/InsaneArmsThe other things that you really should get are a weights bench that you can put at different angles and possibly a barbell and a piece of rope to tie weights to, then you’ve in effect got a full gym set up. Good luck!!

How can I lose weight by working out at home?

I have lost 20lbs. This is what I did:

Ate healthy and limited myself to only two snacks a day.
Jogged the mile 5 days a week. I started with running a quarter, walking a quarter, running a quarter, etc until I ran the mile. Every week I ran more and more and walked less and less. Until I finally could run the whole mile through.

Once you get into the habit, it becomes natural and you get better and better. Good luck!

What's more effective a gym or working out at home?

i would say a gym, it is easier to stop when tired at home. in a gym you feel like you should carry on
