Why should I never visit Britain?

Zombies, witches, skeletons, wizards and such. Just last night October 31st, there were loads out on the street. The place was crawling with them.Police. Why would you want to visit a country where only 1 in 30 carry a gun, and that gun is locked away from the officer?History. We might have buildings older than American, stay away. Danger of collapsing on you.Multiculturalism. Many cities or towns have people from all faiths together. Bad thing to do as it gives others ideas how to live.Scotland and Wales. If you do decide to visit, after wearing your “Hurt Locker” outfit. DO NOT ask them “How does it feel to be English?”NHS. Beware — free health care. Shocking that we already pay for health out of our wages.London, Oxford and that other university place. They are clogged up with foreign tourists. Would you risk your health with being trampled by Chineese, Japaneese, French, German, Italian, Swedish, Austrian, Spanish, Dutch, Flemish and English tourists — to name a few.Food. Very bland. We only eat English, Thai, Indian, Spanish, Korean, Polish, Tibetan to name a few. Oh, we also have something call McDonald's— to healthy for us to stomach. Imagine it, kids meals with fruit!!!!Comedy. Like the food — bland. Just look at YouTube for British comedians. Proves itself.TV. More bland TV shows.Theatre. Just a bunch of actors prancing about on a stage that gets shipped to America when we get enough money from crowd funded pages to get rid of them. Wicked for one. The Lion King, another started life in London.Music. Adel, Def Leopard, Rick Ashley, Wham, Pet Shop Boys — really bad music.Literature. We couldn't write a manual to save our lives.Yes, bad idea to visit Great Britain. We have nothing. This country was invented by Hollywood as country estates and soppy English men.Seriously, what is stopping you from visiting the best country in the world. The scenery is beautiful, just imagine New England in the fall, but better. Foods from around the world, FREE health care, Police WITHOUT guns on the streets. Police actually talking to you and not telling you to not to talk to them. This is the most diverse country in Europe (while we are still in) where a foreigner is not affraid of attacks because someone from their race caused a problem (Germany). History, thousand years of it. You might even find (if English decendent) where your ncester was from.Door is open, come on in.(Just make sure you do not have a criminal record, got enough of them)

Why is honesty important in life?

Honesty is when you are truthful in what you say and what you do. It’s more than just speaking the truth, it’s about acting in a way that is inline with what society deems is “right”. (Here’s a full definition of honesty written in simple terms: What is Honesty? Honesty Definition for kids).Honesty is important for two reasons. First, honesty critical to trust in relationships. If you are dishonest, people can’t trust you. You cannot have healthy relationships, do your job with a team, be offered more opportunities, etc. if people can’t trust you. Dishonesty diminishes a society’s ability to function because we all depend on a certain level of predictability and dependability in others. Society can’t function if we don’t know what’s real and what’s a lie.The second reason honesty is important is that being dishonest takes a toll on your self esteem and self worth. Self esteem comes from knowing you are able, and knowing you can make choices that are in-line with what you believe is right. Being dishonest means you are making choices that are not in line with what you know is right. This causes internal conflict and makes you feel bad about yourself (assuming you have a conscience.)

What are the darkest secrets of elite US universities?

Since you have left MIT from your elite list, ill add it anyways.Harakari or Anxiety attacks: The worst problem of elite universities is suicide. In MIT there is a special square where students routinely jumped off. My elder brother showed it to my dad on his visit. The MIT colors of maroon jacket on grey pants is also called as ‘blood on concrete’. Asian students (especially Korean) are quite famous for going into depression or going all the way to burn out. Most students coming to places like MIT are top in their respective countries. When they discover that they are no more the top dog in their class, but have now slunked to the bottom level; it is a very emotional hit. Especially if all your life you were used to reaching top positions everywhere.Superficial relations:The other problem is that on the surface everybody seems cheerful but nobody has really anytime for the other person. Everyone is a coming as a top fish from a smaller ponds and now they want to prove to their peers that they are the whale of this ocean. The end result is that you will most probably make superficial relations or friends for benefits. Most extra curricular activities are done by Arts majors: The glitzy rowing competetions on Charles river, the drama contests, the alpha bea pi initiations—all are more or less done by the art students. Tech students just find time to get 6 hours of shut eye (if possible)Very few will opt for post graduate and fewer for phd: Most will branch out after undergrads towards jobs and very few will get admitted to phd levels (admissions are again based on competing graduate researchers from outsid). From around 500 applocations, a professor has to narrow down to 4 or 5 researchers. So that necessary will not have much from same university. Also most will try to opt for jobs to pay off their high student loans. Its usually a chilly place for warm hearted souls and although it will drill you like a sergeant, it sometimes can also break a person. Professors are usually busy in their own research /companies. And curriculum is the same as you will find anyhere in top 15 or top 20. The only difference is that here you are paying for the brand. That all there is.

Why can't any liberal media channels admit that the USA is doing well under Trump?

Can any Trump supporters tell me, objectively, without veering off on hate-speech tangents, how the country is doing better under Trump?I’ve read claims that the “Economy is Booming”. But I don’t really see a huge change for the better since January of 2017. Is there any hard numeric data, as opposed to “alternative facts”, showing any marked change under Trump in the gradual recovery that’s been gong on since the last 6–7 years of the Obama Administration? The following article from Forbes (not exactly a Liberal Rag :) ) is dated mid-January 2018. Economically it shows at best a continuation of the gradual positive trends of the Obama Administration through the 1st year of the Donald, with some indicators breaking badly since his inauguration.I guess the big question is the effects of his tax shake-up. They may be very good or very bad, depending on the politics of who you ask:Trump's Economic Scorecard: One Year Since InaugurationTo some extent I can sympathize with the author of this question. Mainstream and Liberal media does not do a very good job of distinguishing between Trump’s many failures as a Human Being and the State of the USA under his administration. It may be possible that he can be an utter slimeball and still have the country do well under his administration. But his many failures as a Person do have the effect of making it hard to know if the country is doing good or bad, because among his biggest failures is that he *lies*, he lies incessantly, proudly, to anyone, about nearly all things. He massages a 1% tincture of truth into outrageous lies and is proud of himself for being so honest. He lies, and when a lie blows up in his face he tries a different one. I think that long ago he lost the ability to even recognize the truth or falsehood of what comes out of his own mouth. And this is the man telling us how wonderful the country is doing under his administration.Maybe it is. But Trump’s personal word is worth nothing. So again, if you think the Nation is doing well under Trump, economically or in any other sense, please provide actual data to demonstrate that. If nothing else it’d be a healthy exercise, perhaps even unique nowadays.

Presumably Trump attended some good schools. So why are his verbal skills so poor and lacking any sense of decorum?

Actually, Trump is fairly smart, but his rhetoric is declining. An analysis was done in May about this decline which includes syntax, vocabulary, cognitive reasoning, and coherence. From the article: Back in the 1980s and 90s, he spoke articulately, used sophisticated vocabulary, inserted dependent clauses into his sentences without losing his train of thought, and strung together sentences into a polished paragraph, which — and this is no mean feat — would have scanned just fine in print. There are numerous contrasting examples from decades ago, including this — with sophisticated grammar and syntax, and a coherent paragraph-length chain of thought — from a 1992 Charlie Rose interview: “Ross Perot, he made some monumental mistakes. Had he not dropped out of the election, had he not made the gaffes about the watch dogs and the guard dogs, if he didn’t have three or four bad days — and they were real bad days — he could have conceivably won this crazy election.” And today we would see this only if Trump were reading a prepared script, for now "Trump’s vocabulary is simpler. He repeats himself over and over, and lurches from one subject to an unrelated one...[example followed but we hear this every day]." And the reasons for this according to the experts in the article may be due to just aging, stress, anger, lack of sleep (which frustration, or early dementia, which having any is not good for a man who represents the highest office in the land especially when thought and decorum are necessary. And speaking of decorum, from what I know, he has always lacked that along with class. When he was married to Ivana, there was a magazine article that showed his garish, tasteless, and extravagant lifestyle along with comments of the Old Rich which was perfect to use as a parallel piece when teaching “The Great Gatsby” which proves that the press often has not been kind to him for decades due to his behavior, so it is really nothing new nor fake.

Why are the people in Africa black?

It gives them numerous advantages. The higher melanin concentration in their skin makes them much more resilient to sunlight than the rest of us. This is ideal for life in warm unsheltered plains.Their dark skin also cuts glare, meaning that they can see significantly better in high light environment. If you look at most desert/plains animals, you'll see dark fur or teardrop shaped fur on their eyes (think cheetah) this is to cut glare. If you're not black, try shading around your eyes like they do in military films, you'll see a difference. I generally do it while fishing.Because of the development of clothes, the requirements for body hair disappeared, meaning specimens without hair could survive. This mutation proved more useful than fur and so stayed. One more key reason might be that humans developed warfare. Humans lack a tapetum lucidum, which is the lens in the eye that makes most animals eyes appear to glow in the dark. Why we lost this is because it is thought that we developed twilight raids, where we attack other humans at twilight. If our eyes glowed when exposed to fire like a dog's, we give away our position. Similarly, to further camouflage, darker skin was better for the twilight warrior.A final important reason is that humans are unique in that we indicate directions to other humans with our eyes. We make eye contact, then flick our eyes somewhere else to make the other human look. No other animal has been observed with this behaviour, yet for humans it is instinctive and innate. When trapping a large animal, especially a wolf or bear who understands pointing, this was a massive advantage. The dark skin gives contrast between eyes and face making it easier to communicate. In short, the dark skin has significant advantages over lighter skin in the African environment. As humans left Africa, the populations declined and began to inbreed, thus strange and beautiful mutations appeared like blonde hair and blue eyes. Just like inbreeding tigers creates cool mutations like white tigers.Dark skin is the natural state of humans, it is not accurate to ask why does an African have dark skin, but we should ask why don't we.

Why are religious institutions tax-exempt in the US?

Churches, temples, mosques and similar religious institutions do not pay taxes because the money donated to them goes toward helping individuals that tax payers would otherwise have to pay to help (or to bury). This includes homeless people, starving families, people between jobs who are having troubles finding new jobs, donations to food pantries, medical facilities, transportation, employment help and more. The funds these organizations receive are voluntary donations from their members, and donations made to non-profit organizations (whether faith-based or not) are not taxed in the USA. These donations go toward running the organization, not profits. This includes churches providing a home for someone in need (as my church does), funding a hospital, library, home for abused women and children, or any other non-profit service. In the current climate of anti-religion in the West, the above services are often forgotten in favor of the few abusers who make headlines (think televangelists, faith healing scammers and such). These and worse (think ISIS and Boko Haram) do happen in the name of religion, there is no denying it. But for every person Boko Haram kidnaps into sexual slavery, there are thousands saved from that fate by Christian anti human trafficking ministries somewhere in the world. For every dollar a televangelist scammer takes for himself, there are thousands that go to clean drinking water where it is otherwise unavailable, or to a hospital run by a religious organization which accepts patients no secular for-profit hospital will.Taxpayers are getting more than their money's worth by the government offering tax-free status to churches and parachurch ministries. Even so, many fail to look beyond the sensationalistic headlines into the daily activities of churches, and so oppose tax exempt status. It is very unpopular to express this opinion in America these days, but that does not make it any less true.

What is your biggest “only in the USA” moment?

I have many “only in the USA” moments to share. I am an American, but I have lived abroad. I see many normal American things as different and strange.Black FridayIn the USA, many people go absolutely crazy the day after Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is where families come together and express their thanks for family and being able to celebrate together. They usually share a meal with each other consisting of turkey, ham, dressing, vegetables, mashed potatoes, gravy, dessert, cranberry sauce, macaroni and cheese, and many other tasty foods. But the very next day turns to complete mayhem. Stores open with extreme sales to get people to come and shop. You can find televisions for $100 and laptops for $50. The trick is that they usually have very limited quantities. You will find these types of scenes on Black Friday. Here is a video from 2015 showing you how people are acting on Black Friday. Remember Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving. The people don’t seem to be so thankful or kind to each other. I refuse to go out on this day after a terrible experience trying to find an electronics item for my mother at Wal-Mart. People were yelling and screaming at each other. It was a complete madhouse!Christmas DecorationsIt blows my mind to see how some people will decorate their home with Christmas decorations. They will literally do this for a few months. I can’t even imagine the electricity bill.Church SignsAll over the USA, you will find church signs with different messages to get you to come to church, change your ways, and teach you the right way to live. From time to time, I will get a chuckle out of reading a sign. I am non-religious, but I am thankful that the churches try to help others.Speak EnglishI have met many Americans that believe the USA is an English language only country. They will rant for hours about people coming to the USA and not speaking the language of the country. Ironically, English is not the official designated language of the USA.Interesting People Shopping At Wal-MartI will always go to Wal-Mart and find people shopping who make me do a double or triple take. For some reason this place seems to attract people who have no shame in presenting themselves in all types of ways. Going shopping at Wal-Mart is like a big box of chocolates. You never know what you are going to get or find.Source: All images found on Google Images.

Does Trump really want to win the U.S. Presidency?

Trump Presidency outlook in my opinion:No I think Trump has done nothing more than insult people along the way which is a sad habit his allowed himself to behave over the years. Quite frankly this is how his lead his company. After learning all the scams and scheme. Trump wants nothing more than to gain political power because (1) he has probably already incurred massive debt since his Apprentice show have been canceled before running for office. (2) I suspect his seeking police protection from enemies and/or avoiding pending lawsuits. As Presidennt he will change the rules of engagement best suit his needs. (3) He has no plans on running Oval Office. Everything he said will be a LIE just so he could claim the highest rank of position of power and control purposes. (4) I think he will finally get the opportunity to venture his brand and build more Trump estates abroad or Russia which he seems to favor and have attempted to build properties before but didn't have much luck or approval. (5) I think Trump will abandon his US obligations and conform only to his desires and business ventures. (6) I think he will massively increase the taxes from everyone so he can benefit from donation with use of our taxes to build his Trump properties abroad and/or in US. (7) He will change rules of engagement. Hire other people in his cabinet he sees fit, remove all existing political government. He plans to control America and ruin all our lives by tax hike for his benefit. (8) Sure he may be able to ban refugees from entering, but building a wall across the border is quite unrealistic and expensive, which he may find funds are better of vested in his properties. (9)After chaos has been done once he takes presidency (God forbid), he will create massive debt, abandon American people, abuse use of troops, perhaps reserve some police protection for himself. Then leave the country or move to Russia. (10) After leaving US once all the damage has been done and becomes irreversible. Either he decides to use nuclear weapon and rid of US or join Putins presidential regime to combine US with Russia. (11) New revolution results, another catastrophic war occurs (WWIII). Many citizens will die. It will be like WWII again except it will be modern Hitler Trump on the rise. (12) Other planets will become new breeding ground or home for the remaining civilians who volunteered to go to Mars prior to Trump’s rise of revolution.

Do right wing comedians exist?

People who happen to have politically conservative views can be funny so long as they don't talk politics. The issue is that comedy that takes on political subject matter generally can't be conservative. It's not that conservatives are too dim to be funny or that liberals have a monopoly on humor, it's that the intellectual basis of conservativism doesn't fit the mold of political humor. Liberal humor tends to be cathartic, it assumes a desire for progress and it identifies need for improvement. Conservative humor, by definition, resists change. The result is that it can do little more than point and laugh at liberals. Conservatives simply don't have room to work with to be funny, and their best efforts are too often just too mean-spirited to have universal appeal.I appreciate good humor because I think that brilliant comedy is a good vehicle to communicate social change. For that reason, even when I agree with their politics, I don't enjoy comedians who damage their own causes by adopting point-and-laugh methodology because it doesn't do anything but hurt the cause, and it's hard to be surprising. For example, I enjoy Sarah Silverman, Stephen Colbert, and Eddie Izzard because they are very methodological about lampooning conservatives. Ricky Gervais and Jim Jefferies just aren't funny to me when they joke about the same material because they operate by singing to the choir in the same masturbatory voice as conservatives. You can dispute the fact that they're actually funny, but Jeff Dunham and Tim Allen are both comedians who are personally conservative but garner broad appeal because they purposefully avoid leaning on conservative humor. Also, this is a good enough place as any to quote the immortal John Cleese:"I used to think that Michael Palin was the funniest Palin on Earth."
