Ramadan Where Can I Get Some Material To Increase Spirituality

What is a good SPIRITUAL BOOK to read to increase & strength my faith?

I would agree with Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. It was a wonderful book that really made you think.

I would also suggest books by Lee Strobel like The Case for Christ: A Journalist's Personal Investigation of the Evidence for Jesus or The Case for Faith.

Though it is a work of fiction, Between Heaven and Hell: A Dialog Somewhere Beyond Death with John F. Kennedy, C. S. Lewis & Aldous Huxley by Peter Kreeft was a very good and unusual book. I heard the author talking about how he came up with the idea for the book, and he said it started with the fact that these three men died on the same day within hours of each other. It is thought-provoking.

Josh McDowell has written some interesting books, too. Some of the titles include: The New Evidence That Demands A Verdict Fully Updated To Answer The Questions Challenging Christians Today, Evidence for Christianity, More Than a Carpenter and Answers to Tough Questions Skeptics Ask About the Christian Faith.

There is also a good book called Jesus Among Other Gods by Ravi Zacharias. You might appreciate that one.

You might also enjoy some of Max Lucado's books.

There are many more, but I hope this helps.

How are the main beliefs of Islam expressed through Ramadan?

Bismillah alrahman alrahim

Fasting is for our own benifit, not only do we reap physical benifits of pushing our bodys to new heights and cleansing our bodies. But spiritual benifits also are reaped. It helps us get a small taste of what the homeless feel like, even though theirs is much worse, helps us increase our self control(thus putting the principle to other things like abstinence from sex), sex b4 marriage, all other temptations. Self control is enhanced. This is for our well being. Note: if person is sick(diabetes even flu) it does not have to be done only able bodies should do it

Is fasting in ramadan healthy?

It depends on your food consumption during “sahur” (supper) and ifthar (breaking the fast). Ramadhan fasting is when your body does not consume any food or drink from the sunrise to the sunset. In Indonesia, it is only 12 hours. It can be longer in the northern part of the world. If you eat too much sugars in the night (from ifthar to sahur), then your fasting is not healthy. But when you keep it moderate, your fasting is relatively healthy.Scientifically speaking, fasting is a kind of food restriction method. Many research prove that it is good for your body. Because of what? Because when your body does not consume food in certain period, it will burn the fat “stocks” inside it. Based on my research, the glucose level of fasting person will get lower in the first few hours after supper but then your body does the magic! It will maintain your glucose level in a moderate level by producing it from your excess glucose in your fat stocks.below is the link of my research:Effect of Monday-Thursday Fasting on Working Memory of Adult HumanFasting and the Human Mind

What is the greatest way of increasing imaan and yaqeen?

My dear brother in Islam, Assalamu Alaikum,

Your Eiman and spiritualism can increase by learning true meanings of Ayahs that you recite during your prayers, so what ever you say to Allah during your salats it comes out from your heart. This develops your closeness with Allah. Our mind always wanders during our salats when we don't understand or know what we are saying in our salats.
Read books on the life of Prophet Mohammad SAW and learn how he worshipped Allah and how he dealt with others; how quickly he used to leave every thing and rush to Masjid when he heard the word of Azaan; how he loved his companions; how he distributed all food and material things to poor people as soon as he received from others;
how he treated his wives and children; All these qualities of Prophet SAW will aslo help you learn to be closer to Allah. I have read book on Prophet's life. Its title is Ar-Raheeq Al-Makhtoum. It was originally written by an Arab Ph.D student. Saudi Arabia gave him best prize for this book. I have its urdu translation. It is also available in English. Try to find it with Online Islamic Books companies by searching on Yahoo.com or Google.com

Rasoolallah also did zikr of Allah and salatul Tahajjud as Allah taught him in Saurah Muzzammil.

When his Aesha said to him why you worshipped long hours and swell your feet when Allah has already told you that you will be in Jannah. Prophet answered, ''Shouldn't I be thankful to Allah'' for His blessings to me"? When we read
such statements of Rasoolallah it boosts our Eiman.

Closeness to Allah is the key of achieving spiriualism.

May Allah be with you and you be close to Allah and achieve your aim.

Wassalam, urs AM

Ramadan. How can I make my life less boring?

Man I've been on like all day, which is why I tried to leave before, to prevent this lol. Anyway, I'm bored a lot. I'm literally home all day almost. My citiess really boring too so there's no where fun to go. I only go out grocery shopping or to the mall with my mom really. My good friends live too far to see and my other "friends" do bad stuff so I don't want to be with them anyway, so don't say call up some friends. I can't get a job anymore bc school starts soon. What can I do to make my life less boring when I have a lot of time to myself like now when schools out?

Is it fine If I observe Ramadan fasting if I am not a Muslim? Is Ramadan actually pre-Islamic? What happens if I observe Ramadan for the ancient Egyptian god Amun?

There is no reason for your Ramadan fasting to be a problem if you are not a Muslim. Fasting is for humans, Muslim or not. Ramadan itself is an Islamic name of a lunar calendar month. You were probably wondering if fasting was done before, and the answer is definitely yes; the Jews and the Christians have been fasting for quite some time, although their exact way of fasting may be a little different. “O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you, as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqun” (the pious - see V.2:2). - Qur’an 2:183 So, the Qur’an makes it clear that fasting has been prescribed before, to the ancient people. As far as your “observing Ramadan for the ancient Egyptian god Amun”, that is clearly a joke, as “observing Ramadan” means obeying The One and Only God of an absolute monotheism, while doing it for “Amun” indicates honoring another god (and a false one at that) which means practicing polytheism, which is a glaring contradiction of terms. Basically, you want to humbly obey God by defiantly disobeying Him. This would indicate either joking on your part (laugh while you can!), a disease of hypocrisy in your heart, or such a serious mental illness/deficiency that your mind can accept two totally opposite statements at the same time and consider them both true (double-think).

How do I manage hunger and thirst in Ramadan?

السلام عليكم ورحمه الله وبركاتهPeace mercy and blessings of Allah be upon youWell there are plenty of ways to do that. However I'd like to remind you that, the whole point of fasting is to feel hungry and thirsty. That is the true essenceof it. The actual feel of Ramadan is not felt when you don't feel hungry. It is this that helps you train yourself to sacrifice your desires. To increase your spirituality and Taqwa. It doesn't happen at first, but slowly when you indulge in worshipping Allah, you'll enjoy feeling hungry.Think about it. You're abstaining from food just because Allah has told you not to, even though you're hungry. How many times have we disobeyed him openly ? Or even if we didn't, are we sure that we have done our ibadaat perfectly without riaa? And takabbur? It is one of the only worships which we can proudly say to Allah that we have done it for him alone.May Allah help us ascend to the highest levels of spirituality and grant us al Firdous.
