Schecter Synyster Special Case

Schecter Blackjack ATX C-1, Brand new and already got fret buzz?

There is a lot that can cause a fret buzz. Im hoping that you know what you are doing when you adjust the truss rod. If you do, and the neck has the correct relief in it, you probably need to raise the treble side of the Floyd a little bit until you get the buzz out. You can use a hex key to turn the post that the Floyd Rose sits on (treble side). Keep raising it until the buzz is gone or acceptable. You may have to retune your guitar afterwards (unlock the nut).

Schecter Blackjack ATX or Les paul studio?

I am going to use the guitar for drop tunings and the les paul studio i wanted was at my guitar shop. It is not chambered has a nice set up, comes with a hardshell case and is $800. The reason i might want the blackjack is because it has the pickups that i would have put in the paul, and it has a nice body shape. However i havent played one and it doesnt come with a case. Please help. Thanks

Which type of guitar is better? Schecter or BC Rich?

Generally I would say it's all personal preference. But, in this case I really feel Schecter makes a better instrument. Yes, American BC Rich models are awesome, but also very expensive. To me the import BC Rich guitars are some of the lowest quality ones of all the well known brands. Kids just buy them for the shape.

How good are Schecter guitars?

For the price they are excellent.

As far as I know they all have emg pickups standards, and I have never heard anyone who actually used them to complain.

I have used their Bass Guitars for over a decade, and pretty much won't use anything else.

Pretty much any sub 300 doallr guitar from anyone will be less than great. But I am amazxed at how many people get caught up in name brand and advertising, and so overlook Schecters, JAcksons, BC Riches, Epiphones, when all of them build some very nice guitars and basses in the 4-600 dollar range, and unless you are Rhandy Rhoads, having a 2000 dollar guitar doesn't actually make you sound better.

What's the name of the guitar brand that starts with syn?

I've never heard of a brand of acoustic with SYN in the brand name.

The only guitar I know of is an electric guitar which is the "Synyster Gates" Model by Schecter.

I would avoid a pawn shop, no name brand guitar. And usually pawn shop guitars are horribly overpriced. You can get half size or 3/4 size guitars by reputable brands at a music store.

For a 6 yr old child, I would recommend a half sized classical guitar with Nylon and brass wound low strings.
The strings are easier to play than a cruddy steel string guitar would be. and he can learn guitar basics on it.
You can use guitar picks on a classical guitar, too and can play anything you can on a steel string guitar.
That is very appropriate for a 6 yr old. When he gets older and shows interest or promise, then you can upgrade the guitar
I learned on a 3/4 sized classical guitar when I was 9 and played it for ages. I upgraded to electric when I was 13, but still played the little guitar too.

try this one from Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Hohner-HAG250P-Siz...

That is quality enough for a young child without being a "toy" guitar.

You can also get a "guitalele" which is a 1/4 size guitar which tunes 5 pitched higher than a guitar but is tuned the same intervals and guitar chords can be played on it.
Amazon has a Yamaha guitalele for $100.

Good brands for a beginner electric guitar?

Second thing first: Schecter's website seems to suggest that Synyster Gates products are amps & cabs, not guitars, so that was a dead end. http://www.schecterguitars.com/search?se...

First thing then, like is this going to be your first guitar, or first electric after say less than two years on acoustic? I have no problem with Schecter's, but don't just go ga-ga over them because they look cool. It's pretty much a "metal" ax, which one may be great for. Then there's the other "half", a decent amp, another subject and extremely important.

With some years playing, I'd look for a good used PRS, but that's just me. For noobs, I'd recommend a decent import Fender "Strat" or a comparable "Les Paul" type from Epiphone, the two classic electric types, any and all from a decent music shop, and that amp (going maybe 20w, 10" speaker).

My Daughter Wants A Guitar?

Well yeah, you could get her a Schecter, but I would strongly reccomend getting her a basic Squier Strat pack, by Fender. It's durable, good for beginners, comes with an amp, picks, strap... everything a beginner needs. And it's cheap.

Almost every guitar player starts out with one of these, unless they've got loads of money. I'm guessing why she wants a Schecter is because Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance play Schecter.

Don't get me wrong, Schecter makes really excellent guitars, but she's not going to be shredding Avenged Sevenfold solos anytime soon. She'll probably be working on chords for a while, then easy songs, scales, and all that for a while on.

You should search around for some good guitar shops with helpful employees (guitar guys are usually pretty chill, so nothing to worry about there). If you know anybody who plays, ask them to help you find a good shop in your area.

I say, if she really puts her heart into it, and makes a long-term commitment to doing her very best, and she is able to play an Avenged Sevenfold solo all the way through (which may take a few years until she can get to that point), THEN you should get her a Schecter. She'll have earned it. And besides, it's not the guitar that makes the guitarist. Excellent guitarists can sound good on anything, and having high-quality stuff after they've gotten used to sounding their very best on an average quality guitar will only make them sound better.
