Sholder Popped And Now It Hurts

There is a bone popping out of my shoulder. It doesn't hurt, it's the bone at your shoulder where your clavicle connects to. Is that bone? Is this normal?

It’s something like the Ac joint but a little higher and I don’t think it’s broken cause it doesn’t hurt

Shoulder "popped," now my neck and shoulder hurt...?

This morning I woke up and was perfectly fine, not sore at all. Later I stretched my right arm out, kinda to the side, and immediately felt a big pop or crack in my right shoulder blade. It was nothing I had felt before, and within a minute the right side of my neck and shoulder developed a humongous, stiff kind of pain. I got really nauseous for a minute or two and then it was unbearable to move for 30 minutes. I felt much better after, and now the only problem is not being able to turn my head all the way to the right without it hurting,

I would simply like to know the possibility of an injury, some remedies, and whether it's safe to wait it out before seeing the doctor.

My shoulder popped and my hand went numb!!!!?

I was wrestling around playing with my dogs, and my shoulder popped and then my arm, hand and fingers went numb. That was 2 days ago, now my shoulder hurts when I move it forward, or lift something heavy...shoulder problems run in my family. Please let me know what you think happened!

Why Does my Shoulder pop and hurt?

Your shoulder and shoulder blade are two different things. It sounds like you have a possible torn rotator cuff or maybe a spur on it.Do go see an orthopedic doctor. You probably need surgery especially if you can push the joint around a little. My husband has both torn and has a spur on the right one and it pops when he moves it.He wouldn't have surgery though. Now your shoulder blade is in the back,a flat bone that helps protect you lungs.Good luck.

I cracked my neck and my shoulder hurts now?

I was dancing around in my room and I cracked my neck. It felt fine fine about 2 minutes later I got severe shoulder pain on my left shoulder, around the top of my shoulder. It hurts really bad when I lay down, or if I move it wrong. I also have a very, very dull pain on the left side of my neck.

I took a Tylenol, but I have school in the morning and I need to sleep. What can I do so I can lay down?
Any idea what I might've done?

If my shoulder popped out of the socket but went back in the socket by itself, do I have a subluxation or a dislocation?

Most probably a subluxation, like I had during badminton reaching for the shuttle decades ago. Know that you’ve torn ligaments, and there is blood in your joint, it it will hurt like hell. Take lots of painkillers, keep moving your shoulder (e.g. by rotating) or you’ll freeze and need weeks of exercise treatment to loosen your shoulder. According to protocol you need a shoulder X-ray to rule out any broken bones, I didn’t since I could move my shoulder although very limitedly after the subluxation, I didn’t wear a mitella either, kept on working among others doing endoscopies so was totally revalidated within 2 to 3 weeks. No more badminton though.

My shoulder popped out of place, but then popped right back in?

Hey, I'm sorry about your shoulder. Shoulder injuries can be serious and there's a lot in the shoulder that can be hurt and cause pain.

I highly recommend you see an orthopedist (aka an orthopedic surgeon) (bone and joint doctor). They specialize in this specific area and will provide the most/best help.
Normally I say to skip the family doc or hospital if you can; they won't do much except maybe your shoulder and then send you home when the xray comes back fine. You could have soft tissue damage. Or if they think your shoulder needs further evaluation, they'll refer you to an orthopedist anyway. So, skip that step if you can and see an orthopedist. An orthopedist deals with all injuries to a joint.

Your orthopedist will ask what happened and what symptoms you're experiecing. He then will examine your shoulder by palpating (feeling) and maybe doing some "hands-on" tests. These tests just involve bending your and moving your arm around in certain ways to check for possible injuries. If you search "shoulder exam" on YouTube, you'll see the different tests they do. You may be sent for an MRI. An MRI will show any damage done to the soft tissues, cartilage, ligaments, and tendons. The orthopedist will have a good idea of what's causing this and then will send you for the MRI if he thinks it's necessary.

You'll then meet back with your orthopedist to go over your results and discuss the best treatment for what's wrong.

I'd give your shoulder a week if you want to wait and if it isn't better, see an orthopedist. They'll get you answers and help.

You can also look at this website:

http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/topic.cfm?topic=a00065

http://orthopedics.about.com/od/findingthecause/p/Shoulder-Pain-Symptoms.htm

It describes shoulder pain and different causes.

To me, it sounds like a shoulder subluxation which is a partial dislocation. The ball of the shoulder joint slips out of socket, but not completely. Maybe you should google "shoulder subluxation" to see if that's what you think happened.

If you've more questions, etc., feel free to email me at michellemullen5@yahoo.com and I'll try to help if I can.

Good luck!

My neck popped, and now it hurts to look up and turn my head to the right. What can I do to help the pain?

Try soaking in a hot tub with your neck parallel to the bottom. Try to wiggle it gently side-to-side to see if it goes back into place. (I have to do this all the time because my neck is fused.)Ice may help your inflammation.Go to a recommended chiropractor, but make sure they will take x-rays at your first visit. If this type of intervention does not help you, insist on an MRI from an orthopedic doctor or neurosurgeon. INSIST—don’t stand on your head, but insist. You have to know what’s wrong, and x-rays are just preliminary. I had a myelogram because an MRI was insufficient to diagnose me. I hope you don’t have to get that test.My MRI was delayed for far too long and my cervical fusion results have been disappointing. Fusion was necessary, due to spinal cord compression.Don’t play around with a neck injury—it can ruin you.Good luck. Get film copies of all your tests, not just the reports. You can’t imagine the potential pain in the arse it is if you neglect this.

Hurt my shoulder swinging a bat?

You may have overstretched a muscle or tendon. If it is a muscle, it will be fine a couple of days. If it is a tendon, there could be damage that you will want looked at. Either way, take it easy for a couple days and see where the pain level is and consult a physician if necessary.
