Should I Buy A Used Car Or A New One. This Is Kind Of Complicated

When did cars become too complicated for guys to work on themselves?

When they added computers in them.

I used to help my Dad work on our cars so I learned so much about how a car runs. Very helpful when you are a female dealing with a mechanic. Sometimes they want to replace something that doesn't need replacing or use a rebuilt item and charge you for a new item.

I know when I hear a noise that there is a problem and I can sometimes help diagnose the problem. But I hate it when the "Check Engine" light comes on. This means that something probably needs to be replaced but it is usually not something that needs immediate attention.

Buying a new car?

I have $25,000 cash and was wondering what everyone's opinion was on getting a new car, 2017 or 2018. Should I wait a few more years until electric cars are more mainstream? Should I buy a new car all cash? I was thinking of getting a 2017 Honda Civic.

Could you list used cars with AUX Input?

I'm thinking about buying another used car.
One thing I must need is an auxiliary input, so I can plug my Ipod with a simple jack (*no complicated installations) & listen my music with clean sound.

I'm looking over cars on web but it's very frustrating b/c mostly they don't say whether they have it or not.. (can't call & ask every one of them. just too many) I seriously don't understand why they don't do this.

What used cars (model & yr) have or at least have option for aux input? Could you list them?
Or list ones that do not have option for aux input?

BTW I want either affordable sedan, coupe, or sport car (no trucks, SUVs, vans)

(BTW I'm thinking before 06s probably don't have it.)

How many miles on a used car is considered too much?

That's a bit more than I would pay but those are solid cars and you should get some more life out of it. Generally speaking things with lazy engines like trucks and cars like this one last a long time if they are well maintained. Older Honda and Toyota are the same for a different reason. What is important is how well maintained and how it got those miles, if it was driven by a normal person and taken in when it needed then it should have another 100k left. If it was owned by a crazy person like myself it won't last long, I drove my Olds with the same engine as that buick probably has and it spun a big end bearing at 170k miles and was toast.

The 3800 or 3100 that it has is one of the best engines that GM has ever made, and the transmissions aren't bad either. So it should be capable of more than the average 90's American car.

So in short good car maybe $750 more than I think its worth.
