How much of my hair should i cut off?
I’ve had long hair my whole life and I want to cut it. Right now it comes down to my waist and seems too long. I was thinking maybe 8 inches off (would be mid back length) but then I kind of want to cut more, maybe to shoulder length (18 inches!)????Help! Will I regret cutting my hair short? How short should I cut it?
How much hair should be cut off?
My hair is very damaged and has been coloured and bleached many times over the years. I rarely cut my hair but I know I need a haircut. I was in for my colour treatment about 3 weeks ago and my stylist told me that I should definitely snip of a good amount of hair. She said I have about 8 inches of dead, dry, damaged hair that needs to go but on top of that she suggests I should chop off an additional 5 inches, so 13 total. My hair would rest at either shoulder length or just above. I’m willing to cut off as much as I need to to ensure the health of my hair. I was thinking to cut off maybe 6 inches but if my hairdresser suggested I take more off I’d be willing to do that too I suppose. I just don’t know if it’s all necessary, but if it is then so be it. After I go in for this haircut, how often should I be going back for haircuts and how much should I take off each time?

Hair grows up to 1/4-1/2 an inch every month.. so you have to wait another year for your hair to grow.... Eat alot of protein, milk, daily products and stuff and your hair will grow. Don't straighten it and leave it alone.
My dad cut off all of my hair. I am a 15 year old girl. What should I do?
I am a girl and I am 15, living with my dad on my own. I had long hair that went down to my butt. It was really well cared for. It was cut every month to stop the ends splitting and my dad always cut it for me, he is a hairdresser; but he isn't gay. Earlier tonight he said that my hair could do with a trim and told me to sit down. He said that he was just going to take the ends off. I sat down and he got the scissors and a cape that he normally used when cutting my hair. He also got the water sprayer and clips and started separating my hair because it is really thick. After this he started spraying it and then got the scissors and comb. He combed through my hair and then put the scissors on my neck and cut, I shouted at him and told him to stop. He started going on about how it would look better short and take me less time to sort out in the mornings. He told me to sit down and let him finish or he would just cut it all of in a shaggy pixie cut. He said that this way at least I would get a styled bob with layers. He kept cutting and I was crying. He finished and gave me a small hand held mirror. It looked awful and it was ridiculously short. I said that it was way too short and because my hair is very bushy it would poof up and look worse. He shouted and said that I was being ungrateful and hacked it all of really short, like and inch of my scalp. He then shouted more and said that if I said any more on the subject then he would just shave it all off and not let me grow it back until I leave home. He said that I could not have extensions, a wig or a weave. He also said that I cannot dye it or add highlights. If I do then he said he will shave it all off and won't let me grow it back until I have left home. I ran upstairs and cried for ages. We haven't spoken since. I am really mad at him and he is annoyed at me. Was he in the wrong, or was it right for him to do that to my hair? What can I do, my school has a uniform and we are allowed no hats and they will take it off of you if you wear one? What can I do about my hair, please help?
Cut my hair while pregnant?
I am 5 months pregnant and I heard from numerous women that you shouldn't cut your hair when you are pregnant because you will regret it. I have really long hair and I am getting really tired of it. It is really hot where I live and I just want something that doesn't take so much time in the morning to do. I am not wanting to go butch short but maybe 3 or 4 inches. It has taken so long to get my hair to this point and I am always complimented on how pretty it is...I am scared that I will not like it after the damage is done...so I guess my question would be...have you cut your hair while pregnant and did you regret it or were you pleased with your decision??

wow that sucks, your dad is probably one of those old school macho guys or something . i says you should lets it grow for like 4 months and get a nice short taper or a mohawk and get a new style, at least youll have something to look foward too.

That all depends on whether or not she wanted it cut off. If she protested and was attacked with scissors, your MIL could be charged with assault. If she wanted it cut off, and you didn’t, then you should just accept it. Eventually children choose their style for themselves.

All of my hair has been affected by heat damage. I don’t want to cut it all off and start over. My hair wasn’t really curly before; I’d describe it as just frizzy/afro-like hair
