Should I Do Cheer Or Not

Should I do dance or cheer?help?

If you mean dance team I believe you should do dance team.

But if you mean take a dance class then I would say go for cheering.

B/c if you are deciding on doing dance team or cheering then it would be difficult but i would say it depends on the amount of flexibility. I mean they are both fun but dance team is better if you know how to dance but if you like flips and tricks do cheer.

But if you mean take a dance class, thats lame because really all you do are recitals and learn dances and not have much fun. But cheering is way more fun cause you have a free ticket in too all the games :)

Cheer or marching band?

well i've done marching band for two years now (freshman and sophomore year) and i'm a sophomore right now.i've always wanted to do cheer leading sooo badly and whenever i see something that reminds me of cheer, i get really sad because i wish i could do it. now, the seasons for both run at the same time, as well as practices, so i can't do both (already talked to the cheer coach). marching band isn't as great as it was last year because we got a new band director and he doesn't even let us do our school's call that we've been doing ever since the school opened in 2004 when it was always looked down on since it was the "newbie school".
now, lots of people that did marching band this year with the new director aren't doing it this coming year 2011-2012 because they don't want to deal with him anymore. do you think that i should too? one year without marching band won't hurt right? and if i don't like cheer as much as i thought i would and i miss marching band too much, i can always go back to marching band my senior year.
what do you think? i mean, i'll still be doing symphonic band (the class) so it's not like i'm completely quitting band as a whole. all input is welcome!
thank you!!

I want to be a cheerleader but I'm not very flexible?

I am gong to be a freshman in highschool soon and I have been dancing for 9 years doing ballet, tap, jazz, and pointe. I just don't know if they will accept me because i'm not very flexible. I can't do back flips, but i can do a carwheel. Do you think i can get in?

I CAN'T DO ANY CHEER JUMPS AND TRYOUTS ARE IN A COUPLE DAYS! WILL I MAKE IT WITHOUT JUMPS? AND TIPS ON JUMPS?

Do pencil jumps with the motions. Then, start doing jumps where your legs are barely apart. Keep doing that and gradually open your legs farther when you go up! once your comfortable with that, focus on thrusting your hips forward while jumping. This will help get your legs higher. Also focus on pointing your toes and keeping your back straight. Finally, get 2 pound ankle weights and do your jumps with those. When you perfect your jump with those, you'll have incredible jumps without them! stretch your straddle splits and jump every single day! Good luck!

Should I play volleyball or cheer?

I love volleyball & I try to play as much as I can. In gym class, lots of people tell me I should join the team. But I have always wanted to be a cheerleader & when I was younger I did gymnastics for about 3 years, and this year I took a couple of tumbling classes. I can do most easy things (cartwheel, back end, split, front handspring, etc) but I can't do a back handspring & I'm not that good at cheer jumps. So I don't really know what to choose. I also wanted to try color guard & I kinda can throw a baton and catch it, and I like dancing even though I've never taken any classes. But I'm not sure about color guard because I wanted to try marching band. So i don't know what to choose & I know if I do matching band I can't do cheer leading, and vice versa. Help please? And sorry for the long thing to read cx

Do you have to be flexible to be a cheerleader?

My friends keep telling me how I have the potential to be a cheerleader because of my energy and the way I bring a crowd together.heres the thing; I can't do flips or anything gymnastics related.I can't do the splits or anything like that..Do you think all of that matters?
