Should a woman living alone buy a gun for safety?

I think so. This is a very dangerous world we're living in nowadays. Have you ever seen the atrocities that happen on that show "The First 48"?

I'm a single female with a Golden Retriever and a Chihuahua. So, basically, my dogs offer NO protection.

But guns are expensive. What I did was buy a real-looking beebee gun and painted the bright orange part of the barrel black so that it looks real. That way, if someone breaks into my apartment, there's a good chance that they'll run when they see me with the gun (I hope!).

I’m traveling to Canada as a young female. What can I carry for self-defense?

The way the law is worded in Canada, if you carry something for the purpose of using it as a weapon, you may be charged for carrying a weapon. For instance, you can carry capsicum dog spray legally -unless banned by local bylaw. But if you use it on a person, you can be charged for carrying a weapon. If you carry stronger capsicum bear spray in an urban area, it would be deemed a weapon even without use, because it isn’t reasonable to expect a bear in an urban area.Essentially, Canadian law is designed to discourage people from going around armed. This has proven to be a successful strategy because crime levels through most of the country are quite low and you can be comfortable walking the streets. However, if you feel that you wish to carry something, an electronic noise alarm (panic alarm) is something you can carry anywhere because it is does not cause physical damage. As they are very loud and attract attention, most would be criminals will flee if you activate one.A second consideration is a powerful LED flashlight (torch) with strobe function. Such flashlights are available that will easily fit in the smallest of purses/pockets. Aside from a very useful item for its mundane purpose, a hi-intensity (200+ lumens) strobe can disorient a would be attacker long enough to effect an escape. If you go this route, make sure you get a flashlight with an easy to activate strobe function - some flashlights are unnecessarily technical to operate. Also, avoid a ‘tacticool’ flashlight; if it looks like a weapon, police might charge you and let the courts determine if you meant to use it as such. When purchasing a flashlight, get one that is slightly longer than the width of your hand. If worst comes to worst, you can use it as a yawara. For the overwhelming majority of cases, with a minimum of awareness, tourists in Canada have an enjoyable carefree experience.Except in Churchill, Manitoba. The muggers there are brutal…Brave tourists come nose-to-nose with a massive polar bearTactical Flashlights: How to Use Them for Self-Defense

Do female Army medics carry weapons?

I heard that medics will still have a weapon on them, though usually a sidearm instead of something like the M16. Does that include female medics too even though we're much less likely to be put on a line unit? So for instance, if I'd be assigned to a hospital or one of those field hospitals that are set up under tents or whatever (not sure what they're called), would I still get to have a small weapon on me? If not, what instances would a female medic carry?

Can a spouse of a felon own a gun?

Yes the spouse can. But here's where you should talk to a lawyer. Generally speaking, the spouse can keep it in the same home so long as it is not possible for the felon to access it. For example, the spouse has it in a locked cabinet that the felon cannot get into. Where if becomes a gray area is when you don't have it locked up. If it is in the livingroom it can be argued that he had constructive possession of it because is it in a common area. You should speak to an attorney about how you can best avoid trouble for the spouse and felon.

What are some uptempo musical theater songs for a female duet?

Here are two songs, orgininally boy and girl, but will be ok with girl and girl, one is Anything You Can Do from Annie Get Your Gun and the Other is Friendship:

Lyrics: >

Judy: If you're ever in a jam, here I am
Johnny: If you're ever in a mess, S.O.S.

Judy: If you ever feel so happy you land in jail, I'm your bail
Both: It's friendship, friendship
Just a perfect blendship
When other friendships have been forgot
Ours will still be hot
Judy: A-lottle-dottle-dottle-dig-dig-dig
Johnny: If you're ever down a well, ring my bell
Judy: And if you're ever up a tree just phone to me
Johnny: A-yes-sir-ee
If you ever lose your teeth and you're out to dine, borrow mine
Both: It's friendship, friendship
Just a perfect blendship
When other friendships have been forgate
Johnny: Gate?
Both: Ours will still be great
Johnny: A-lottle-dottle-dottle-chuck-chuck-chuck
Judy: If they ever black your eyes, put me wise
Johnny: If they ever cook your goose, turn me loose
Judy: And if they ever put a bullet through your brain, I'll complain
Both: It's friendship, friendship
Just a perfect blendship
When other friendships have been forgit
Ours will still be it
Judy: A-lottle-dottle-dottle-hep-hep-hep
Johnny: If you ever lose your mind, I'll be kind
Judy: And if you ever lose your shirt, I'll be hurt
Johnny: If you're ever in a mill and get sawed in half, I won't laugh
Both: It's friendship, friendship
Just a perfect blendship
When other friendships are up the crick
Ours will still be slick

A-lottle-dottle-dottle-woof-woof-woof
hep-hep-hep
a-chuck-chuck-chuck
a-dig-dig-dig
Good evening friends!

Song from a musical that involves two female characters fighting?

A Boy Like That/I Have a Love from Westside Story (way, way dramatic)
Take Me or Leave Me from Rent (def a fight song, but since it's between girlfriends, it miiight be a little akward for sisters to perform.. but I'll throw it in here anyway)
Anything You Can Do from Annie Get Your Gun (a guy and a girl, but can be adapted to be two girls)
Matchmaker Matchmaker from Fiddler on the Roof (three girls, but you could have on girl play the ldest sister and the other girl play the younger two? or something?)

Not fighting, but you might want to check them out...
How the Other Half Lives from Thoroughly Modern Millie (it's not actually a fight, but it's a bout a poorer girl wanting to live with the upper class while a rich girl looks forward to living as a normal person... so it's got the same sort of back and forth)
Sisters from White Christmas
Stepsisters Lament from Cinderella
Some things Are Meant To Be from Little Women
If Mama Was Married from Gypsy
Three Bedroom House from Bat Boy the Musical
Class from Chicago
Every Day A Little Death from A Little Night Music

Should all the women in India be legally allowed to carry guns?

The right way to reduce crime against women is to understand the cause for the same and implement a solution. In case of dowry based harassment, we pass appropriate laws that criminalize it and create the necessary awareness. Giving women guns would either lead to husbands and in-laws being hurt/murdered or worse the weapon could be used against her.In case of work-place abuse, we ensure that women are aware of their rights, help them face such abuse. Again guns would make them murderers/ get them killed. In case of sexual abuse, well we have a lot of work to do. We need to promote a culture of treating women with dignity, providing training for work and safety and health facilities for victims and helping them cope with life. I don’t think shooting one’s attacker is wrong per se but its not right as a society to make women feel so unsafe. There may be more kinds of abuses women might face but the right way to tackle would be to educate every boy and girl both academically and with sufficient focus on morals to ensure 50% of us don’t feel the need to walk around with guns all the time. After all we all came in to this this world cos of a woman. We owe her at least this much.
