Should I Get A Moped At 16 Or Waitfor A Car Ii

Should I let my 16-year-old son have a moped/scooter?

This has less to do with your son than it has to do with you.  You are fortunately in the position of being legally responsible for your son and therefore have the choice of saying yes or no when it comes to these kind od decisions.  Realizing the well know risks of injury/death that naturally go with a person each time they ride one of those forms of transportation if you grant his wish are you willing to live with your decision if the worst should occur?  While technically uninformed statistically as to the increased risks that are involved compared to driving a car, I'm sure those statistics bear out much worse results from an accident. In the end, should you cave to your son's request and the worst happens, are you prepared to suffer the guilt you will endure for the rest of your life?  Your decision as a responsible parent comes down to making the best overall long term decision for your son's safety while he is still under your care.  Your decision for yourself comes down to are you willing to look yourself in the eye in the mirror everyday for the rest of your life should you lose your son as a result.I know what I decided and that was no.  When my son moved out at 18 he bought a motorcycle 2 months later.  Three months after that, I got a call from the police that he was in the ER with multiple fractures he suffered in a bike accident.  He lived fortunately but to this day you can see the outlines of the screws that were used to rejoin his broken bones in his chest through his skin.

I'm 15 should I get a moped at 16 or wait for a car at 17?

It depends on where you live. If you live somewhere where it has nice weather most of the time, then I definitely say moped! I have a moped and it's a BIG gas saver, if something goes wrong then it's less expensive to fix, and it's less frustrating getting around traffic with a moped rather than a car. If you live somewhere where it's usually bad weather or if bad weather does occur for quite some time then I'd probably say a car. If it's icy, snowy, or even rainy then you can't ride a moped around unless you want to get in a wreck. To turn with a moped, you need to make really sharp turns and you lean over a lot, so in slippery weather that's really scary and dangerous. If it's raining then you'll get wet.

The pro's and con's of a moped (other than the weather that I just discussed);
Pros- it's a BIG gas saver, if something goes wrong then it's less expensive to fix, and it's less frustrating getting around traffic
Cons- the helmet messes up your hair

That's all that I can think of. Hope I helped xoxo

I'm 16, should i get a car or a motorcycle?

OK I thought I'd just clarify somethings but first, thanks everyone who's answering :)
So I live in Florida so its warm all the time and on the winter compared to northern states. Secondly, we have a rav4 and a trailblazer and a truck I'm allowed to use if the whether is not ideal or I need to go with my friends or a date. And I'm sure I'll be much more aware since I know about the dangers (my uncle rides bike and gives me tips a lot). I plan on taking a lot of courses too. So I think that's it and I can make a decision.

I want to get a 49cc moped, can i since i have a dui?

i have 2 dui 's , i am waiting to get my restricted license,( this means i can not drive with out the interlock system in the car i am driving ) but i am told i can not drive any motor vehicle without the interlock , now since this does not meet Pa requirements of less then 50cc, and less then 1.7 horse power ( i think it what it said for horse ? )

But i dont know if a cop stops and sees that i can only drive a interlock ,? in this case i have a quad? if i am on the power line or state property where u are aloud to ride off road vehicle am i going to get in trouble ?

Hope some one can refer me to the law page where it classify this or they have research some thing on these lines before , ty look forward from hearing what you guys have to say ,,

Ps. please do not comment if you have no information on the question at hand :-) Thank you

Can I ride a moped to school? Moped basics!?

Hi! I'm a 15 (turning 16 soon) year old girl living in suburban New Jersey. I really am interested in riding a motorcycle but my mom thinks it's too dangerous and doesn't approve, especially of driving it on the highway. I want to look into getting a moped but don't know much about it. My school is only about 5 miles away and I want to drive a moped to school. Could someone tell me the basics about owning and driving a moped? What license do I need to get and what should I expect? Please tell me all that you think I should consider and know. Thank you! :)

What motorized vehicles can a 14 year old drive? On sidewalks?

I'm 14 and I want to buy some type of vehicle. I have a friend who drives a dirt bike around all the time and he is also my age but he doesn't know if it's legal. I've heard I can get like a a moped if it's engine is not very powerful.

How to get my motorcycle license at 15?

You have to be at least 16, because you need your driver's license in order to get a motorcycle endorsement. Even then I'd recommend waiting at least a year after you get your driver's license before getting a bike, so you can get accustomed to the rules of the road in a much safer vehicle.

Can a 14 year old ride an electric scooter?

Depends on the laws of your state.
Most states, no.
You can Google your state's DMV site and find the answers. Or call your local license bureau or DMV.
Ignore Jame's answer. He doesn't know the laws of your state. Also just because he rides on the street doesn't mean it is being done legally.
