Sprint Unlimited Data?
I just signed a 2yr contract with Sprint and i'm wondering if it is really an unlimited data plan. I bought an iphone and i use most of the data plan for FB,Twitter,email and there's a radio station that i listen to a lot for like hours, so i'm just wondering if i should worry about my bill. I know it might sound stupid because it is unlimited data but you know how those cellphones companies are always looking for ways to get your money, so any feedback is highly appreciated, specially if you've been a Sprint customer for years.
What is an unlimited data plan?
Basically, it means that you don't get charged per gb of data. Currently at&t and verizon have plans starting at 2gb of data, which means that if you go over you will be charged above and beyond your monthly payment. Sprint still has unlimited, which means that you pay a flat rate for as much as you need (although there is usually a clause about excessive data usage, like over 5 gb). Keep in mind that wireless modems are different, and pretty much all have a 5gb cap.
Sprint Mobile Broadband "unlimited kb"?
Ive have sprint broadband for almost a month. Before the contract started the deal was I get 5gb of download+upload. On the sprint website it tells me how much data ive moved over the last couple weeks. Now right beside the usage thing, it says 3,710,000 KB out of "unlimited". Is this implying that they are giving me unlimited amount of data to use? Ive talked to my friend who doesn't know much about networking. I hooked his network up for him awhile back and he has the same plan. He uses his broadband for heavy xbox live down loads. I know for sure he would have already gone past the 5gb limit, and yet he said he was never over charged. Data roaming with unlimited everything on sprint?
i have the galaxy s2 with sprint and have the unlimited everything plan. but when im up in the mountains it tells me im data roaming and that charges may apply. will i be charged if i have the unlimited everything plan with sprint? if i do then whats the point of being with sprint then? thanks for any answers!
Why did AT&T and Verizon stop offering unlimited data plans, while T-Mobile and Sprint still do and still plan to do in the future?
The premise of this question is out of date. All four major carriers offer some form of unlimited plan now. The only difference is what the hidden restrictions are.To answer your question though, Verizon and AT&T dropped their unlimited plans a few years back because they did not need them to be continued to be successful, and customers were abusing them pushing the limits of their Networks. T-Mobile and Sprint continue to offer them because it was their only real advantage over the other two. Along with price. Those two networks have substantially fewer customers or did its a Time, and therefore had a lot less strain on their Networks.Now that several years have gone by all of the major networks offer unlimited now. They all are much more upfront about what used to be in the fine print as far as how they manage their Network. All for carriers have a certain point at which your data Maybe deprioritized if you are on a congested Tower and there are customers also using that Tower who have used less data.
