Should I Go To Dreyfoos Or G-star

How can I get into Dreyfoos School of the Arts, for Digital Media? NEED HELP WITH AUDITION?

My name is Lily, and I'm currently a freshman in high school, and I audition last year for theatre, but it was so competitive, I didn't get in, and so this year I'm auditioning for digital media, but it's going to be harder for me, since I'm going into 10th, and that means my audition score would be a 4.50. For digital media, I'll select a sequence of images to create a Storyboard of 5 photographs from a group of 29 photographs and write a text to accompany each of the photographs, I'll then have 40 minutes to do it. Also I'll have to create a series of 10 Digital Photographs on campus using a digital camera, exploring an assigned theme related to the elements and principles of design. I'll have 60 minutes to do it. The thing is, I don't know anything about photography. Help me please.

Dreyfoos School of the Arts<--- HELP?

hey so i go to dreyfoos im a junior, not for theatre but for art... although i have a lot of experience in acting ive done it for a large portion of my life i auditioned for theatre for the middle school and got in but, i had alot of training. you really should pick a monologue that shows a variety of emotions showing that you can play a variety of parts. VARIETY IS ALWAYS BEST!!! don't go for something complicated... or something you don't really understand. pick a speech you can really relate to so that your more in tune with the emotion your about to portray. also a little tip for trying out always try to stand out as much as possible when introducing your self you dont just wanna shy away.
my best suggestion is to go to a local community theatre program aka (delray beach playhouse, lake worth playhouse) something along those lines and ask for there advise on picking a monologue i know people from either place and i highly recommend both places for training.

also theatre is extremely competitive and that is the hardest major to get into. i know people who didn't get in when they were clearly amazing.so i suggest also check other options such as getting a back up major... hope this helps

Dreyfoos Auditions! Any who could help?

The schools are having us choose choice programs for high school, and A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts is something I, more than anything, would like to get into. It's VERY competitive, and people have been trained all their lives for this. I haven't. I just want to get into Communication Arts because I have a passion for writing. There are a series of interviews I just can't write down in less than 4,500 letters. Look it up on the website, and please help. I've never wanted anything so bad, and I really want to try for this. You go through an interview with three people (I have little confidence), give a speech (I have a small stutter and--did I mention I have little confidence?), and present two projects in less than an hour (Pressure doesn't sit well with me). The interview is around January-February.

Is dreyfoos hard to get into?

Well to be honest with you, you applied for the most hardest major to get into. Last year I audition for Theatre, and didn't get in. This year is even harder, because their standards has gone up. If your a freshman you need a audition point of 4.25, instead of a 4.00, and if your a sophmore you need an audition point of a 4.50, instead of a 4.25. The thing that mess me up, at my audition, was that I was nervous, so don't be. Also while you are waiting for your turn to audition, the theatre students who is attending Dreyfoos, will give you very helpful tips. My advice to you, is to be prepared, know what to say, when they asked you, why you want to go to Dreyfoos, and smile, and let them know, that you want to be at Dreyfoos.

Auditions for Dreyfoos: school of the arts?

Hey i go to dreyfoos and i heard that for communications auditions they make you write a timed essay on the spot and you have to make like a short film or documentary of some sort. My friend did a documentary on the soldiers in iraq and peoples opinions on it. Then they interview you and ask u questions about what u can contribute to the school and why u wanna be there and stuff. hope this helped! :)

Performing arts high school?

you are going to have to move to big cities like philadelphia, boston, or new york. Juilliard has a prep division, granted it will be difficult to get in and will be expensive. try to find something in boston, it will also be expensive there as well. philadelphia is a shady place, i wouldn't recommend going there. new jersey or connectict might also have something. stick with the new england states. start with a music summer camp or somthing and talk to the counselors there. make sure you either have the money to pay or you are so dam talented that peers at your age can't even come close to competing with you then you'll get a full ride to a prestigious place for NOTHING. good luck

Unfortunately, I don’t think it will.If Disney somehow loses the rights to lucasfilm, how will the new company gloss over the faults of the sequels? Will they just do what Bethesda did with Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, and pretend it never happened? Or will they accept that it happened, try to keep the most important aspects of the movies (cough, cough, not Rose Tico, cough, cough) and just try to alter them to make them better?I guess we’ll never know.

Based on my experience with napping at MIT (which is extensive, but is, by no means, limited to CSAIL's boundaries), I had a hunch about the best answer to this question, but I couldn't be sure. In order to provide an authoritative answer, I spent half an hour this afternoon exploring CSAIL in search of more napping venues. It should be noted that, for the purposes of answering this question, I defined CSAIL as the areas encompassing the 2nd and 3rd floors of Stata in their entireity, the 4th and 5th floors of the Dreyfoos tower, and the entire Gates tower.I can now say definitively that my hunch was correct, and the best place to nap in CSAIL is on the Medical Vision Group's couches on D4. They are in a quiet, seldom travelled area. The lighting is not too bright at all, and they are a reasonable distance away from the professors' and students' offices (so they're not as sketched out by some random person sleeping right next to where they're working). However, as a student, I've only napped there a few times. Most of the time I'm looking to take a nap on campus, I'm extremely sleep deprived and can't afford the luxury of sleeping until fully rested. Therefore I avoid this venue because it's too perfect.Instead, if I'm looking to take a nap in Stata, I frequent the couches on G6, which aren't as comfortable and are in much more brightly lit areas. This makes waking up quite a bit easier (if I'm too comfortable I have a tendency to turn off my alarm without even waking up).
