Should I Have Send Cash In The Mail

Can I send cash in the mail?

You can, and the wise way to do it (which all the other answers so far have missed) is to send it registered mail. This costs a lot more than normal mail (minimum price $11.70) but what you get in return is that you have proof that you sent it, proof it was delivered, and it will be insured.

You will need to take your letter containing the cash to a post office. They can weigh it, calculate the correct postage and sell you stamps for that much, and give you a certificate of mailing with a tracking number that you can use later to get confirmation it was delivered.

How safe is it to send cash by U.S. Priority Mail?

I  have known a very small percentage of USPS employees who lost their job  because of theft, so to minimize that scenario, don't make it look like  there's any possibility of cash being inside.  Sadly, one of the  employees of which I speak, was rifling through obvious birthday cards for children.   Remember, this is not a common problem.  In 30 years of postal  employment, I probably knew 5000-10000 employees.  Only 2 were thieves. If   you really want to send cash in the mail, use a security envelope that   can't be seen through.  Of course the mail might be lost, or stolen by  someone randomly pilfering mailboxes, but the  chances are slim.   They're so slim, that my father once mailed me a $50 bill to  Switzerland, where it was hand-forwarded it to me in Cairo, Egypt.  Yes I  got it, because it didn't look obvious.

Can i send CASH overseas via snail mail?

First, where are you sending it? If you are sending it through a (reasonably) safe postal system, such as the UK but not somewhere such as Nigeria, the odds are that it will arrive.

The first rule is to never send cash through the mail b/c you, the sender, assume all the responsibility and burden. If it is lost or stolen or destroyed, you are still responsible for the money.

I have received US dollars through the mail many times. I have also had dollars get stolen or lost.

Short of the rule of thumb, never send cash in the mail, if you must do this:

1) use a #10 envelope (approximately 4 inches by 9 inches) with the blue security on the inside.
2) use brand new bills, not worn out ones. The new ones will lay completely flat inside.
3) place a piece a paper around the bills, with the note, $13 enclosed.

If you can get a money order that can be accepted as payment in the other country, then use that. You can purchase a money order at most Supermarkets. These typically have the "Western Union" label on them. A US Postal Money Order may be purchased at the post office. Some money orders, like those drawn on a private bank / not Western Union, may not be readily cashed in other countries. They could refuse payment or require a check cashing fee.

For you, you may purchase the money order, and pay a fee usually anywhere from $1 to $2. If they are lost or stolen, they can be traced for replacement. A big hassle, but it can be done.

If you send cash through the mail, will the mailman take it?

I've sent cash before, but it's a risk on your part. I hid it in between some papers. It got to the designation safely, but there's never any guarantee, unless you send it via a registered letter with a tracking number...which I would recommend.

Can you put regular cash in mail?

I've pondered about the importance of this question until now. I want to donate some money to a company. Is it legal/safe to send regular cash inside sealed letters? Or must I write a check out? Please respond.
I will not tolerate any off topic answers, or rude comments. They will be reported immediatly.
Also I'm sorry if this topic is misplaced, I could not find a place to place it.
