Should I Have Uninstalled My Graphics Driver

How do I uninstall graphics drivers for my APU and keep the processing drivers?

Open the Device Manager and expand Display Adapters.  If the Radeon is no longer listed, then either it was disabled by installing the Nvidia card, or it is disabled in BIOS.  In either case, uninstall the Radeon drivers.

If the Radeon is still present, download the most recent Catalyst drivers.  Uninstall the current drivers and restart the computer.

If the folder containing the previous drivers still exists in the default location —

C:\ AMD\ support\ 14-4-win7-win8-win8.1-64-dd-ccc-whql
or
C:\ AMD\ support\ 14-4-win7-win8-win8.1-32-dd-ccc-whql

— rename or delete the folder.

Run the downloaded Catalyst installer.

What would happen if I uninstall the graphic card driver from my laptop?

Your laptop would function similarly apart from ofcourse gamingUninstalling the geforce driver would revert windows to its original basic drivers that it has for nvidia gpu's You might notice a substantial bump in battery life because the geforce driver is fairly heavy and requires some resources of your cpu to run The basic windows driver is pretty similar but is a ripped off to basic functions version of the nvidia driver So yeah, you may notice a slight difference in performance perhaps substantial but certainly not a huge differenceIf want to switch to your onboard chipset then simply go to device manager>display adapters and then disable your current gpu

Do you have to uninstall your graphics card driver before intalling a new video card?

I would.3 reasons:The graphics chip manufacturers themselves advise so*The driver is normally packaged with additional control software. The version of this is step tied to the graphics driver which in turn is step tied to the chip. Even if you're not switching between AMD and nVidia, this can cause glitches if mismatchedIf you are switching between nVidia and AMD (either way), the control software will still try and launch (needlessly slowing down startup) and then moan when it can't find compatible hardware.*Installation Guide for AMD Graphics Card and Driverhttp://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/10/related/1/session/I've seen installations where it becomes impossible to reach a usable desktop with the screen blanking every second or so after graphics hardware was switched without uninstalling the old drivers first.

PC wont boot, after graphics driver uninstall!?

You didn't just uninstall your graphics drivers, you uninstalled some of your chipset drivers as well.

amd_sata.sys

Your motherboard has an AMD chipset and you have uninstalled the driver for the sata controller, meaning it can no longer read the drive.

If you have the driver CD that came with your MB it should have the chipset drivers, you need to browse the CD and find the correct file (amd_sata.sys), and paste it into the proper location on the drive that won't boot.

The proper location to install the file is windows/system32/drivers

I Accidentally Uninstalled My Graphics Card!?

I was trying to get the new drivers for my graphics card (AMD HD Radeon 7950 xfx) which would be the 14.1 Beta but i had to uninstall my previous drivers to install the new ones. I didn't know how to do it at first and researched but I ended up going to my Device Manager and uninstalled my Graphics Card instead so now I can't download any drivers from amd.com or play any games either. I already tried a system restore but I can't get my graphics card back to "Display Drivers". How can I get it back!?!?!??!?!? Please answer, i'm still sort of new to this PC world.

What will happen if I uninstall my Intel HD Graphics?

If you kind of like me and has 2 Graphics card (one in integrated and the other one is an nvidia card) don’t uninstall it becouse you can’t edit the nvidia settings. If you dont have an another card just an integrated, i don’t know whats gonna happen i din’t experiented it. Maybe it’s don’t gonna let you uninstal, or the screen is gonna be black if you uninstal it.
