Ever since I got Generations, when I go to the launcher and click the play button, it stops responding! It never did this until I got Generations! The only fix I found is to plug my laptop into an internet cable and play. I camp and travel a lot, so I don't always want to plug it in. What can I do? I don't want to reinstall it and lose my game! I don't care if I use the launcher or not, so what could I click in the program files? - Open launcher and it should que an update. Update it.
- Install World Adventures (it should update only once)
- Go into the launcher again and it will update
- Install High End loft stuff (if you have it)
- Same process with the launcher.
- Install ambitions (if you have it)
- Launcher (same old same old)
- Finally install Fast lane stuff if you own it.
- Update once more from the Sims 3 launcher.

If done in this precise order, the game should function fine. Since you are using downloads, i suggest going to the Sims 3 help website if this does not work, as that is where I learned how finicky the game can be with the way it is installed.

I don't have internet at home, but I was wondering if I could use my phone to manually download the sims 4 update and transfer it to my laptop via USB, and apply it to the game. my game has never been updated.
