Then I saw a toilet that one of the residents on my street wanted to get rid of, which they placed on their lawn next to the road. I was desperate enough to use it. Luckily, I never got caught by anyone except for one of the neighbor's kids (about a toddler's age) who got out of their pool and said "stop hogging the toilet! I have to pee!" Other suggestions I have include... - Impersonating a criminal - Asking for dye packs and using them like grenades - Disguising a school bus as a bumble bee - Drawing optical illusions on your car - Attaching a bird feeder to your car (in some places) - Using a radio transmitter on a Walmart background radio (only in certain circumstances) - Shooting a metal detector so that it won't go off when you pass through - Starting a fire using a laser pointer and a magnifying glass (the bigger the better) If you wanted to, you could find more on Google
Do I get notifications from Quora when my content is downvoted?
Quora hides all the downvotes for a few reasons that I assume and few reasons that I am not aware of. The reasons that I assume or feel are -Showing who downvoted your answer will lead to arguments and debates on the person who downvoted your answer than the answer itself. This will easily lead to fights and lesser useful content.Lot of the times, Quora operates secretly in many topics like Politics (and its related topics like Politics of India , Politics of the United States of America , Israeli–Palestinian Conflict ect), Feminists , International Relations etc. There have been numerous occasions when an unpopular political opinion has been targeted by the mods purposely. Related to the same topics in the above point, many users themselves downvote any answer that does not conform to their opinions. Like here in India, supporters of one political party often downvote answers of supporters of other political parties. Showing who downvoted you in both these cases (of point 2 and 3), can lead to lot of debates and conflicts that can dilute the value of the website itself. Quora uses something called PeopleRank (Quora feature) which is very complex that only the Quora mods and may be top management knows how exactly it works. Peoplerank ranks each user according to the users quality of content. This leaves highly followed users with higher ranks and writers with less followers with lower ranks. So here, if a user who has high PeopleRank downvotes your answer, usually it automatically gets collapsed, irrespective of how many upvotes it has. Its the same with the OP of that question. If the OP downvotes your answer, it usually gets buried in the collapsed answers. Although I find this highly stupid of Quora, Quora justifys this by stating that it helps to keep the quality of the site up. What is Quora PeopleRank? How is it determined? Should Quora take action against users who report answers for no reason?
I think that they should take action, but they need to start from scratch.I see different automated options while reporting an answer, because of which it is easy for those people who are reporting that answer for no reason. They will select any reason in a random fashion. One click of a button and Bam! Your answer gets reported and collapsed in a few days.I have a few suggestions here. Let me know what you guys think about these:Make it compulsory for those who are reporting the answer, to give the reason in written. I mean, they should type the reporting message. People who report without any reason, will obviously give a pretty vague reporting message.Quora moderators should keep an eye on the stats for the answer. If an answer is not getting reported during its initial days and they are suddenly finding the answer getting reported after it has went viral, they must seek a detailed reporting message from the person and then if they really feel the answer violates any policy here, they should reach out to the writer, seek an explanation and then decide about it.I have seen a few people who go on a flurry of downvoting and reporting answers without a reason. Keep a limit on the number of answers you can report within a particular time frame, for a particular writer. This would help in curbing the people who report the answers because of their jealousy for the writer's popularity.Probably increase the threshold value when they decide to collapse an answer. Set up different league like structure for this. For example: Higher the upvotes, higher the threshold !There will be obviously something fishy when a popular answer gets reported for no reason and they have to recognize this.None of the writers here write answers in a way that, most sections of the society would get affected all at once ! There'll be one or two downvotes here and there, but that's part and parcel of writing here.As pointed out by User , a very less fraction of people follow the theory of subjectivism. People who report following that theory, will have obvious reasons and will give a pretty reasonable explanation about why they have reported or downvoted that answer !A lot depends on what the readers follow too. Lots of silly question I ignored! I don't know why people ask some simple and easily knowable answers.Firstly, word meaning, this irritates me lot. Guys you are using internet and you must have google so instead of asking and waiting for answer to get from Quoran try to get it from Google.Almost all words are available on google with exact meaning.Political issues without involving and proper concerned.Comparison between north and south, east and west, their rituals, people orientation towards their thinkings.Why cow is yummy in some state and mummy in other state.How to make blog on Quora.How to earn royalty from Quora.How to get higher upvote.How to get rid off on population.Lastly, how to become celebrity on Quora.Gross! These questions polluting the quora. Try to put useful questions that makes quoran feel good while writing answer and make other feel good while reading the answer too.Just break the hypocritical shell around you and build the paramount of thoughts. Don't chase the delusion and make sure that all of your doubt must have reasonable problem or queries that oneself find quite enthusiast to solve your problem or anyway in question.Ponder over these subjects, you must be glad to get all your question a pretty good attention.With all my flexible regards!:)
