Skyrim Is Extremely Laggy And Is Missing Sound Files

How to fix Skyrim pc lag?

My brother broke the xbox 360 when I was halfway through with the game so I bought it on Steam and downloaded it. Now, I can play a game on an xbox or a computer but when it comes to problems with them, I am lost. It loads fine, it starts fine, when on a screen like menu or inventory it is fine. but when I start to play the game, I move in segments, my attacks come late, and everything is pretty much slow and laggy. If you could explain how to fix the lag in a way a toddler can understand, I might have a chance of understanding it too. thanks.

My Magic In Skyrim Has No Sound?

It glitches in and out for me too. I think the issue is that Skyrim stops sending samples to your mixer when it hits a certain limit and magic gets axed first.

SUGGESTIONS:

Update your sound card drivers
Raise the audio quality settings in Skyrim
Do a cache verification/repair on Skyrim

I hope these help, they did a LITTLE for me.

I have a Skyrim (PC) Input Lag?

Skyrim on my laptop has a pretty bad lag. Normally when i'm traveling or talking, its manageable but in big dungeon fights or boss fights, it starts skipping frames, and my inputs take a good 2-3 seconds to respond. Sometimes i'll be clicking my mouse 4-5 times and my character won't swing his weapon. Since I dual wield, i'm getting hammered in boss fights while i just stand there and its annoying. My heal spells also take a bit of time before they activate. I've been constantly getting killed because my inputs don't go in fast enough. Its gotten so bad, I couldn't even pull up my character menu to drink a heal potion. And the game is running on medium quality.

I just got a new ASUS laptop running windows 7. I haven't checked the graphics and processor info yet, but its a brand new laptop. So my drivers should be up to date. Anything I can do with the settings?

Skyrim sudden frame drop when crouching/sneaking/silent rolling?

Honestly I don't think it's an hardware problem, as I don't have that problem with a 650M which is several stages worse than a desktop GTX 660. Like you think it could be a problem leftover by a or particular group of mods. Did you install any shadow improvement mods that replace default textures with 2x, 4x, 8x of the original size?

Also how did you disable your mods? Did you disable it through the Data menu on the launcher only? Check the Data folder in your Skyrim directory. Take out every folder and file except these folders (Interface, Sound, Strings, Video) and these files (All files bsa files that start with "Skyrim -", skyrim.esm, and the actual dlcs) If the problem occurs, I would suggest you back up your save files to another folder, uninstall skyrim and do a fresh install. This should fix the problem as it must be a problem with the previous game install/files. If the problems exist without adding mods on a fresh install it must be some mysterious hardware issue.

Have you ever messed with settings on the NVIDIA GPU settings?

Where are the files for eyes located in your Skyrim folder?

So I want to replace the vampire eyes in Skyrim with the full-black eyes so when I become a vampire my eye color won't be changed, but I can't seem to find where the eye files are located. Could somebody please either give me a quick walkthrough on how to do this or at least point me towards the eye files so I could do this?

Skyrim menus keep freezing on PS3?

I am having the same issue on the PS3, almost every menu takes a few seconds to unfreeze, so each time I go into a menu i have been waiting a few seconds before I try to navigate it. This doesn't always work however, sometimes I have to go out and reopen it. One of the worst for me so far is the leveling up menu. I haven't found it to be unplayable, just annoying. Hopefully they will release some sort of patch, I don't know.

*update*

Received this email from Bethesda's support team,

Thank you for contacting Bethsoft Support. We are sorry that you are experiencing menu freezes for Skyrim. Our first suggestion is to perform the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Problems may arise if you have been playing the game for an extended period of time. Let the system cool down, then try running the game.
2. Please make sure that you have the most recent update for your PS3 console.
3. Remove the game data from the Playstation 3 Hard Drive. Files in the Game Data Utility folder, are saved settings for a game (i.e., controller preferences, brightness settings, etc.). These steps will NOT delete your save games. To remove a game data file from the Playstation 3
a. In the XMB home menu, go to (Game) > [Game Data Utility].
Important: Make sure you select [Game Data Utility]. Do NOT select [Saved Data Utility], as this will delete all of your saved games files.
b. Highlight the game data utility file (i.e., name of a particular game you have been playing) you wish to delete.
c. Press the button and select [Delete].
d. Highlight "Yes" and press the button to confirm the deletion.
e. A message indicating the file is being deleted will appear.
f. A "Delete completed." message will appear once the file has been successfully deleted.

4. Try running it from another console. If the game works properly on another system, you may want to contact Sony to find out more about getting your PlayStation 3 serviced. If the game fails to run on multiple consoles, contact our Technical Support representatives for further assistance.

Skyrim and lag caused by mods?

It really depends on the type of mod as to how it affects performance.

Mods which add lots of characters to the game (like massive battles) for example, will tax the CPU and can cause lag on lesser machines.

Mods which add higher resolution textures to the game can tax the GPU, which can cause lag also.

Some mods don't cause any lag. Usually simpler mods (like a simple player house) will cause no additional lag...but not always.

Will This computer run skyrim?

Im looking into buying a new laptop, and i think it would be nice if i could put a game or two on it! The one im looking at now is the "Asus x401a" its a little on the cheap side...but it's within my budget. one of the games that i would really like to put on there is skyrim. but, im not too sure if this computer will be able to run it! so if you could help me that would be great :) it dosent have to have the best graphics, and it dosent have to run silky smooth the whole time...that being said, i dont want it to start to lag every 20 seconds.
