How should Yahoo! convince people to switch from Gmail to the new (December 2012) Yahoo! Mail?

"We’ve redesigned the new version of Yahoo! Mail with speed in mind -- getting through your emails is faster than ever before. We’ve also made your inbox more intuitive and easier to navigate, allowing you to focus on what matters most: your messages."Not like that. The focus of Yahoo! Mail is to let me read my emails, and fast? It IS an email program... right? What service is slow at this? I use Hotmail and Gmail. Neither strike me as slow, or needing speed improvements. I have a severe case of doubt when it comes to the more intuitive, easier to navigate inbox too. Really? More intuitive than a list of all my emails, sorted by any method I choose? Every single new version, new system, and new update promises this. Still, little has really changed since 1998. My inbox looks much the same as it ever did, regardless of the email service I am using. Allowing me to "focus" on my "messages"? Well, since it as an email service, that better be what they are doing. What does that even mean? Are they going to have advertising all over the page, but highlight my messages with flashing gifs or something? It reads like very standard, expected hype for something that is likely not much different from its predecessors aside from an appearance update. I'd be blown away if they mentioned anything even remotely interesting or unexpected, but they didn't, so I am not. I don't see anything substantial in the message, and certainly no reason to switch from what already works perfectly fine. I don't even see a reason to give it a try.

Xtube's new interface is slow.?

Xtube's new interface is actually slow in my computer, I don't know if it's in my connection or in the website because other websites that I visit is okay.
Is there a problem on Xtube's website, they said the new interface will make things faster but it's actually slow in mine.
For those who visits that site do you experience the same problem?

Why is Yahoo! Mail's interface so absolutely awful, compared to Gmail?

Disclaimer: I'm a Yahoo, but do not work on the Y!Mail team.It depends on which Y!Mail interface you are talking about.  There are currently 3 live versions: "Classic" (early-2000's), "Candygram" (2006), and "Minty" (2011). Obviously, having 3 versions live at the same time is an issue, so I'd imagine the older two will be deprecated once Minty is released as the primary interface (at some point in 2011).  You can opt-in to Minty today @ http://features.mail.yahoo.com/.If you are talking about the older two, then the simple answer is they are very outdated.  For the new one - I've been a GMail user for 5 years and have hundreds of thousands of emails (7.7gb worth).  Yet, I very much prefer the latest Y!Mail over GMail.  It's a cleaner design, intuitive, incredibly fast, and I get unlimited storage (I currently pay GMail for extra storage).  I've given up GMail as my preferred client because of its well-documented performance issues over the last year.  Y!Mail also has integration w/ Twitter, Facebook, and Flickr, but with GMail I only get Buzz.  :(While GMail at this point is more feature-rich, my hope is that when Minty leaves beta, the resources spent maintaining and building 3 versions of Y!Mail can instead be spent on building out Minty's feature set.  Interface tweaks like threading, labels, and advanced filters are all things I'd love to see.If you do have complaints about the latest beta interface, please submit some feedback with the "Send us feedback" link you'll see on the left sidebar.  At this early stage in its development, I know the team very much values and incorporates feedback into design decisions. Here is another relevant question - "In what ways is Yahoo Mail better than Gmail?" In what ways is Yahoo Mail better than Gmail?

In what ways is Yahoo Mail better than Gmail?

A - Think about this scenario :You are looking for an email sent from Bob containg a photo that was sent in 2008.In Gmail you'd have to type something like:"from:Bob +  filename:(jpg OR jpeg OR png) + before:2009/31/12 after:2008/01/01"In Yahoo, well you'll simply have to type "bob" and the result page will offer you to simply refine you query by clicking on some filters.Of course I'm exaggerating somehow but Yahoo! Mail search has become much more powerful in the new version of the webmail B - Both services will benefit from the great "Webmail Ad Blocker" extension for Firefox or Chrome.C - Yahoo Mail is more social but this is just an optionD - Another think that i like is the Facebook integration. Not so much for my contacts updates (I deeply hate facebook inside) but rather for the noblest part of this social network the jabber based Facebook chat. it has become a sort of universal IM protocol today as everyone own an account and it's right into your email client

Why is Yahoo, Yahoo Mail and Yahoo Answers slower than a snail?

i had this problem when i was using Internet Explorer. i switched to Google Chrome and now everything is much faster. i recommend you try switching web browsers, downloading a new browser or updating your current browser.

Yahoo! Mail supports the following browsers:

Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8:

IE 7.0 (with limited functionality)
IE 8.0 and newer
Firefox version 19 and newer
Safari version 4.0 and newer
Google Chrome version 25 and newer

Mac OS X 10.4, 10.5, and 10.6:

Firefox version 19 and newer
Safari version 4.0 and newer
Google Chrome version 25 and newer

To download a new web browser or upgrade your current web browser click on the link below:

http://downloads.yahoo.com/us/internetex...
http://downloads.yahoo.com/us/firefox/
http://www.apple.com/safari/
https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/

If you are using Internet Explorer your problem could be because of a feature called "Compatibility Mode". You will need to switch to a different browser or turn off Compatibility Mode.

To disable Compatibility mode in Internet Explorer 8, 9, or 10:

1. Open your Internet Explorer.
2. Click Tools.
3. Click to uncheck Compatibility View.
**Note: Ensure that "yahoo.com" is not listed under "Websites you've added to Compatibility View."
4. Close and relaunch your Internet Explorer.
5. Access Yahoo! again.

What is up with Yahoo mail. It's acting weird and really slow?

Been doing the same for me ever since they Upgraded the Home/front page of Yahoo. Second upgrade/change in a month or so. Hesitates for many different actions in Mail, navigation, etc., "mark all Read" etc.

Why is yahoo mail so slow. It slows down every computer I use and some times even feezes it.?

That usually happens "after" you have upgraded to the new version----and when your computer isn't powerful enough--with lots of RAM--or highspeed internet--or an upgraded browser that Yahoo recommends--or your cache hasn't been emptied lately.
You should probably just stay with Classic, if all of those "requirements" haven't been met---otherwise the new version will never work properly.

Do this to "STAY with" (or get back to) Classic (which is the ONLY older version you can stay with or get back to)----it's quick and easy.

This link (below) has been reported to be a permanent fix---and even stops future "prompts to upgrade"
It's different than some of the other links, (that have been given), which are only temporary.
Click this link:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/ym...

When the page opens---scroll down about midway until you see this---"What if I don’t want to upgrade to the newest version of Yahoo! Mail"?----IF you do not want to upgrade, please "click here" to use Yahoo! Mail Classic.
("click here" is a blue link). Return to Classic is immediate
