Sm Audition Questions

SM Ent. Audition and Trainee questions?

1.) Yes, it is absolutely true that SM prefers looks over talent. You should have ideal/close to ideal body measurements for a good chance of getting in. As long as you can sing a decent range of notes with a sweet tone, you should be fine. If you can free style dance, that's even better.

2.) This is a negotiable topic, SM has trainers in the USA, however they may or may not require you to stay at SM Academy if you live at a hard to reach area.

3.) Once your contract is signed, yes. However, you do have a limitation to how much money you can spend on your expenses.

4.) Not everyone debuts. In fact, the chances are relatively small for non-Korean/Chinese/Japanese speakers. SM does expect that you can speak an acceptable level of Korean/Chinese/Japanese to be selected for debut. It's not an uncommon event for trainees to be kicked out, or to have trainees who choose to quit.

5.) This varies from singer to singer. SM has been know for 'slave contracts', which mean that singers may be obligated to sing for eight to thirteen years. Examples include Key and Taemin from SHINee.

6.) This depends on your skill level. Are you educated enough to handle a normal job? It's recommended that whilst pursuing your singing career that you also make sure your normal skills are up to date.

Hope I helped~

KPOP (SM) Audition Questions?

1. 18+ Manily because most Kpop groups debut when there around 17
2. Nope it's all covered if you have a contract with them. But if you make it to the second round, techinically you haven't had a contract with them so the expenses are on you.
3. AWH HELL NAWWWW. I mean they obviously care more on looks than on talent but they still want something to work with! I mean if your good at singing and dancing but you have so so looks, you still have as much as a chance as a person with amazing looks. Just, this question is asked so often. Don't worry so much about how much you appeal to the judge. But general decency is still probably preferred.
3a. SINGER: They are looking for people who can sing bubblepop. It's a genre. I swear. A voice that can be cute or sexy. (snsd for example with Beep Beep and RunDevilRun.)
DANCER: Any type of dancer. Can dance all types of dance
I didn't really understand the "Type of talent" question. I know YG likes rappers though.
4. I've auditioned for SM through email and they got to me 6 months later. They usually tell you to go to a live audition
5. GLOBAL&&YOUTHSTAR: With others MONTHLY&&WEEKLY: alone
usually it goes like this; AUDITION → review → judge meeting → ROUND 2 → Judge review → meeting → photoshoot → review → singing prep → ROUND 3 → Audition → judge review → meeting → contract disq → Photoshoot → meeting w/ parents → meeting w/ ceo → contract → trainee
5a. introduction in the languages you can speak than singing
6. They will teach you how to sing better and how to dance. They will most certainly teach you how to speak korean and you will go to KENT international school (SM only)
7. Yes! Tiffany has pre-debut photos with stars! If your nervous infront of crouds you already have a lower chance! They want confident people! You dont have a 100% chance of debuting too. They test for the best then drop the rest
8. only of your group is going to debut in different countries so technically no.

SM entertainment audition questions?

Hey guys..I'm 16 years old...My parents are Vietnamese but I was born in Australia..( so yeah my English is pretty fluent).
I've just got a few questions about SM Entertainment auditions/training:

- How pretty do you have to be? I mean..do you have to be pale, have big eyes...blah blah ?
- Is 16 too old to audition? It says no age limit but I'm sure they want people under a certain age..
- What if you send an email audition in and they accept you. Will they pay for your ticket to Korea for you to do a live audition?
- How many audition rounds are there and are the judges mean?
- Will SM persuade you to have surgery if they think you don't look good enough?
- If you get to become a trainee, will SM give you an allowance at all? because they're already paying for accommodation and all that... :S
- If you're a really good dancer, could you become a backup dancer while being a trainee?
- ...I want to send an audition in but my mum has already planned my life out for me. If I pass...will I have to go the live audition or is it my mum's decision?
-...and...I'm really worried about this: Will SM make you follow a strict diet? :S I love my food but I'm also really skinny and underweight. D:
-Oh..and...I'm vietnamese..so if I somehow manage to er...pass...will they try to pass the influence on to vietnam?
- What about wearing prescribed circle lenses to the audition/ in an email audition? Will judges think you're fake?
- I know i'm not but..if you're super pretty...like yoona from SNSD and you can hit the correct notes but have no vibrato..will they accept because you're pretty?
Sorry for all the questions :X I really want to know because time's passing and most people audition when they're 14 :X
Thankyou!

Sm Email/Mail Audition Questions?

1.) can you email them auditions eventhough your not from korea or US?

Yes, definitely! But you have to be Asian, because if you're not, then it will affect your chances greatly in a negative way.(It's sad but that's the truth.)

2.)can i send in a video anytime? or do i have to wait until they say the global auditions are on?

You can send a video through e-mail or mail at anytime.

3.)can i audition with another person? like a duo?

Yes but I wouldn't recommend it. Why? Because if you audition together, it could affect your chances of getting in. I mean like, if SM really likes your friend, he/she could outshine you, and on the other hand if your friend is really bad, it could take the focus off of you. But if you are considering auditioning with a friend, just remember that you both have to submit individual application forms.

4.)if they are interested in me, will they ask me to audition live? will i have to travel to another country? will they pay for the cost of the travel?

If they like you, they will ask you to go to Korea or to the Global Auditions to see you audition live. They will not pay for the cost of the trip because they don't pay for anything unless you have officially become a trainee.

5.)when i email them my audition video, how long would it take them to reply or get my result?

I heard that they send you an automatic message once they have viewed your e-mail, and the automatic message tells you that they have received your e-mail and offers you to go to the next Global Audition. And I'm pretty sure that if they like you, they will notify you and ask you to audition live, which is different than the automatic message. It could take up to 2-4 weeks for them to reply.

HOPE I HELPED AND GOOD LUCK!

S.M. Global Audition Questions (S.M. Entertainment)?

1.) Amber, ZhouMi, Victoria, Henry, Kris, Tao, Lay, Fei, and Jia are all Chinese (and some are Chinese-American/Canadian) and didn't know any Korean when they were accepted.

2.) That is untrue or they wouldn't be the one of the biggest companies in K-pop. I recommend having a Korean song tucked away in your audition arsenal if you are good at pronunciation. The judges might ask you to sing a song in Korean if they really like you.
It is true, especially for mass global auditions. They don't have time to listen to 2+ minutes from everyone when they have 10,000 candidates. If you want more time, go to the Weekly Auditions.
They will only let you audition for ONE thing per audition.

3.) 13 is as good as any age. The older you are the more talented you need to be. There might be a section on the application, but it won't make a huge difference until far into the final interview process.

4.) Just look for what they ask for. They usually ask for Name, Age, Sex, School, Category (you're auditioning for), etc. Almost everyone who sends an email to the Global Auditions gets invited to the live portion. After the live portion, if they think you need more practice but have some potential they will send you an email back saying something about auditioning again next year.

5.) Trainee contracts are 3 or 5 years I believe. If this is too long, you might want to try another industry.
Pay a day? No such thing for ANY singer...your earnings will depend completely on how many members you have and what kind of extra activities you do.
Training depends on when the company feels you are ready to debut. TAO and Baekhyun debuted after a month of training and some of the SNSD members debuted after 7+ years of training.

6.) NO make-up for your audition. The judges want to see you bare faced. These judges have been in the industry long enough to know what you WOULD look like with make up on. Also, make up can be seen as a crutch for confidence.
Wear something nice, but not too fancy. Just don't show up in your ripped jeans and T-Shirt with obscene words on it.

7.) 0-1 out of 100. Companies sometimes end an audition without choosing anyone. These auditions are as much of a promotion as they are to find talent.
The odds are more of like 1:10,000, especially with Global Auditions.

8.) Sure, just make sure you get the pronunciation down.
