Can cherry blossom grow in India? Particularly in a hot state like Rajasthan?
Sorry to disappoint you but i don't think that Cherry trees will survive and bloom in temperature of rajasthan. Like other deciduous fruit trees, including apples, pears and peaches, cherry trees need a certain number of cold nights in order to produce maximum yield.These cherries need approximately 700 to 900 total hours of chill, or temperatures of 7 degrees Celsius or less. Can cherry blossoms be grown in Oklahoma?
Its Oklahoma, not Death Valley, for goodness sake... That being said, I imagine the summers are a little hot for cherry trees.-- that's probably why not many garnders use cherries in Oklahoma. We see a lot of Crepe Myrtle and flowering pear trees for spring color. Why not take a drive to your local gardner center and ask someone who actually knows what works best in your part of the state. (I seriously doubt you could make a cherry tree work in hot, dry, southwestern Oklahoma, but around Tulsa might be a different story...)
