Sneaky Yahoo Is Trying To Hijack My Browser

How do I keep Yahoo from hijacking my browser?

I hate that crap too. Google did that to me so what I did was completely uninstall it then I went through all my installation discs until I found the oldest one and reinstalled a browser. You might be able to find an old browser version on the net.

Anyways, then I updated the browser BUT VERY CAREFULLY read and selected each option.

I have also been very careful that anytime I install new software that I read every option. Some of them try to sneak google in on you. Also, Firefox helps you keep junk out of your browser better.

Hope that helps. It has worked for me.

Is AOL Trying To Hijack My Browser?

I'll venture a guess. It might have to do with using IE... No, I'm serious, it probably does have something to do with ie. it is the easiest browser to exploit and hack into ever. As soon as you mention IE to any good IT guy, they'll guide you away from this program. You're better off downloading firefox or chrome. If you can, go into control panel and click on add and remove programs and uninstall IE. This might solve your problem and your other problem. just remember to get firefox first.

My browser has been hijacked how do i remove it?

First, you'll need to run a virus scan. If you don't have an anti-virus program already installed you can get AVG here: http://free.grisoft.com/

Next, you should run an adware/spyware program, at least two as no one anti-spyware program can detect everything. Try spybot: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/downl...
and
Superantispyware: http://www.superantispyware.com/download...

Someone is trying to hijack my computer?

If this is a server we are talking about, and I assume it is, unless your server keeps logs on FTP access, it will be difficult to know who to track down.

My suggestion is that you change you all your passwords to at least 10 characters. I like using the SecurePassword generator extension in Firefox to do this. Be sure to use letters and numbers now. :-)

Why does yahoo allow ads to hijack your browser & try to install bogus software?

I don't think Yahoo is screening their ads whatsoever. That's exactly why I use ad blocking extensions.

My browser has been hijacked by you again dont want you as browser go away?

Yahoo is not a browser. It is a website. You need a browser such as Firefox, Chrome, Safari, or Edge in order to access Yahoo.

How can I remove browser hijackers?

“Luckystarting” is a new addition to a browser hijacker family which displays wallpaper, time and a quote. Read more about the hijackers and removal instructions here: Remove “Funnysearching”, “Myluckysites”, “Ourstartpage” Browser HijackersHere are other domains:funnysearching.com

You cannot easily remove the hijacker because it has a backup program which monitors for changes and reverts them back. As soon as you change browser settings, the program modifies them again. Same goes with browser shortcuts. As you have probably already found out, there is no value in this parasitic website as it is only designed to earn advertisement revenue to the developers. The only way to completely remove this unwanted homepage is to remove the backup program it utilizes to stay on your system. Here is a short version of the guide which can be found by following the link above:Go to Programs and Features and search for a recently installed program which could be the hijacker.Go to Registry editor and search for “luckystarting” and delete the entries.Clean up Temporary files (just in case).Go to MSConfig Startup tab and remove suspicious programs from there.Delete and recreate all browser shortcuts (or look for URL additions to “target” field in the properties).Delete extensions from your browsers and reset their settings.

How can I find out who is trying to hijack my computer?

Here's a handy little app to allow you to be able to see all the information contained in packets you are receiving and sending.

http://www.wireshark.org/

Wireshark tends to give pretty detailed information, so everything you can expect to find you can expect to find using it. However, if you don't know what you're looking for, this may not help you very much. You'll definitely probably want to take a look at the "get Help" sections of their page.
If you can identify the packets from the intruders, then you should be able to trace the IP address you find. Don't necessarily expect it to lead you to be able to find their name and street address or anything, though. There are probably simpler applications to get the information you would need, but this is the one I use.

You should consider the possibility, by the way, that there is no hacker, per se, just some sort of malware giving that impression. In that case, just get some good malware protection software.
