So I Found A Phone And I Put My Sim Card Into That Phone. It Says Service Provider Locked. What

I found an iPhone and put my sim card in it to see if it would work...more inside?

The first time after I put the card in, it tells me to connect to iTunes or there is an option under it to Dismiss. I push that and I can access everything. But if I turn it off and back on, it only gives me the option to make an emergency phone call. I've tried 3 different sim cards from friends and it has done it with each one of them. I planned to sell it on Ebay if no one claims it, but I can't sell it if it's not going to work properly. What can I do to keep it from doing this?

Can I put my SIM card into an unlocked phone and have it work right away?

You can insert your SIM card into an unlocked phone and you will be able to make phone calls immediately.

If you buy an unlocked phone that is not a carrier-supported model, then some data features such as internet and multimedia messaging may require a call to the carrier to get working correctly. It depends upon the model.

How do I unlock a phone to put any carrier SIM card on it?

You need either an unlock code to insert into your phone or to register your IMEI as Unlocked. It depends on your phone model and network carrier.Android devices for most GSM networks:You need a network unlock code, which you can either get it from your network carrier or from a third-party unlock code provider such as UnlockUnit.T-Mobile and MetroPCS Android phones (manufactured since March 2015) and Apple iPhones:Your network or an unlock service provider need to register your phone's IMEI as Unlocked. For T-Mobile and MetroPCS the IMEI is registered as Unlocked in either the T-Mobile or MetroPCS database. Whereas for iPhones, the IMEI is registered as Unlocked in Apple's database. The above options are paid methods and the process is simple and straightforward. However, there is also the option of unlocking the phone for free by flashing a new firmware, but you will need technical knowledge. Also, with this method, you risk bricking your phone.

Can u fix 'no service' in phone? Just put working SIM card in phone and says emergency calls only.

What kind of phone? Who is the carrier? What type of SIM?Generally if you have a compatible phone and SIM and the phone doesn’t recognize the SIM, you can do a soft reset and it will then recognize the SIM. If you have a working sim for a specific phone on one carrier and put it into a different carrier’s phone it may not recognize it. Nothing wrong with the phone, just wrong SIM. Verizon phones are not locked other carriers phone are. A lot of variables. Be more specific..

What happens if you take a SIM card out of a locked phone and put it in a new iPhone?

If the new iPhone is either from the same cell provider as your previous phone or is carrier/sim unlocked it will work fine without any issues unless your using Metro PCS in which case you will still need to call their customer service number. A SIM card has nothing to do with the phone being locked or carrier restricted, the restrictions are within the phones software. However it is possible to put a lock code on the SIM card itself, in which case you would need to enter in the SIM cards lock code once inserted into the new phone. SIM cards don’t normally come password locked from any cell provider, it’s an option under phone settings that the user has to set up. Hopefully that was helpful

I found a mobile, and when i put my sim card in it says, service limited, and would not work.?

I found a mobile on a bus, handed it in, 2 months later i was asked to go collect as it hadn't been claimed. I put my sim card in and it worked but certain services didn't. This phone was on virgin, has blue tooth, camera etc, my other phone was on orange without camera, blue tooth etc. In order for me to, for example, send a picture message, i just phoned orange up, explained the circumstances and they updated my sim for me to use with my new phone. Hope all this makes sense, might not be the same circumstances, but if you phone the network you are trying to use and explain to them that you have acquired a new phone and wish to use your sim from your existing phone then this may help.

Can i put my old sim card into a new phone?

Yes, My auntie just did last week. Her cell phone just stopped working and the cell phone company(Cingular now is once again ATT. I really wish they'd make up their mind. I think this is the third time ATT has bought Cingular. Its wrecking havoc on our lives!!! LOL...........) sent her a new phone and told her to put her old sim card in the new phone. So, it's totallly cool. :)
