Mom found my cigarettes!!!!?
I am sure that most of us have had a situation like this when we were teenagers. Yesterday, my mom was going through my room "cleaning it", and she found a small safe that I kept all of that stuff in, so she managed to pick the lock, and in there she found all of my cigarettes, pipe tobacco, whatever, and she called up my dad all frantic and stuff because she thought it was marijuana or something like that. So, after school my dad comes up to me, kinda laughing, and totally cool about it, because he has been in this exact situation before, and tells me mom called him up and told him everything, and that I should talk to her. Well, it has been a couple hours, and my mom has been extra friendly to me, because I don't think she knows that I know, but things are like, REALLY awkward between her and I right now, and I want to know how to like, say sorry and stuff for totally freaking her out, and tell her that it will not happen again, or whatever she wants to hear. The truth is, I am sorry that she had to find that, but I am not sure how to express that. Any tips??
My parents found my lighter, what should I say?
I am 18 and my parents just found a lighter in my car. I smoke, but not cigarettes. There is a possibility that my mom went through my bag and found it (which is total BS) well anyways what should I tell them? I said I bought it on my 18th birthday with a primetime and now they are pissed I bought a prime time. And I dont need some shpeel about how smoking weed is bad so if your going there, save it.

So I was downtown and I had my cigs and when I got home I sat on the couch with my dad and we watched a movie I was really tired so I put the cigs in between the couch cushions and after the movie I just went straight to bed forgetting about the pack the next day he had found my pack and is super pissed and tore apart all of my cigs I'm not addicted I just smoke to ease the stress like once a month or so can anyone help me have some ideas to calm him down BTW I'm 14 and yes I know smoking is bad please save the lecture because I know all of the risks I am taking when I do this and it is my choice

I'm 16 and have been smoking for a good year and a half. I'm not doubting that my parents didn't know I smoked but I just never thought I would get caught, which was naive I know. My older sister has been smoking since she was 12 yrs old and now she's 22.my parents are so broken from this and my dad and I have talked about everything and the reasons why I even started smoking (had an eating disorder, social pressuring etc...) but my mom is still so upset because I've completely demolished our trust. I need to know what I can do from now on besides quitting (which I am going to do) and how to get their trust back. I think they were most disappointed in the fact that they think I'm spiraling out of control because all my life I've been set on this specific course for a perfect life and attending an ivy league school, and so I think that they think that I am going to lose everything I've worked for. Basically they're nervous that I'll end up like my sister who was in the same situation as I am but completely lost control of who she was.

You do realize you posted this in the cancer section? I was diagnosed at 21 with a smoking related cancer. 21. Not 81, 91, or even 71. 21. Think about that. When I should have been out partying, the nurses were picking me up out of my own puke. When I should have been sleeping in, I was getting blood transfusions. When I should have been getting started in my career, someone else was wiping my butt after a bowel movement because I was too weak to do it myself. My cancer is leukemia, and trust me, no, you dont understand that cigs are bad. I dont think anyone your age has a concept for what cigs can do to you, I know I didnt. I know some people who are well into their 40s or 50s that dont even understand. That being said.... unless your parents also smoke, they knew you were smoking long before tonight. Especially with you smoking on the porch. A non smoker can smell cig smoke a mile away. I have no idea how your mom will handle this. My mom got mad, grounded me, and lectured me, the whole time chain smoking herself. Your best bet is to own up to it, take the punishment, and quit.
Found Weed in Parents Room?
Haha okay so my parents are very strict about smoking. My sister smokes and when they found out they flipped. But she just smokes cigarets. She got in trouble yesterday for having an e cig at only 16 so they took everything away from her especially her cigarettes and e cig. Well today my sister was looking for shorts in my parents room and she came in my room saying "you won't believe what I found" and i went with her and it was a smoked rolled up joint with with weed wrapped in tinfoil and cigarette paper wrapped in another piece of tinfoil hidden in her drawer. My sister and I are confused and need some advice. What should I do?!

If you don't smoke, then why did you secretly take the pack back after he took it from you? There isn't really any help anyone can give you. Eventually you will have to listen to what your dad has to say about it. I'm sure he will lecture you about it. Even if you know (noe- that drives me nuts. Can't you use spell check?) that smoking is bad and all that. Just listen to what he has to say. Apologize and don't do it again. Although if I was your dad, I wouldn't trust that you aren't smoking since you stole the pack back after he took it from you the first time. That sounds like additive behavior to me.
