Some Of My Fsx Planes Bug Help

PMDG 747 help! BEST ANSWER WINS 10 POINTS!!!?

I'm assuming you're using FSX?

CTDs (crashes to desktop) are not all that uncommon for Flight Simulator X and associated add-ons (in many cases, it's not the add-on but the way it interacts with FSX and ultimately your hardware).

This issue is probably not widely reproducible, so it's probably not really a bug. Your best bet would likely be to avoid causing the condition that causes the crash. Try switching to another view before switching to tower and see if that works.

What is the best helicopter simulator for PC?

I write for PCHelicopters.com and we [1] looked at a number of helicopters specifically for the PC. The simulators we looked at include DCS, Xplane and FSX so we hopefully should be able to answer this question. We conducted a poll amongst the community and the results of our poll can be viewed on www.pchelicopters.com site. DCS was favorite followed by xplane. For the full results and other polls check the link above or click this link Helicopter Simulators to go straight to the POLL.FSX has not got the best helicopter flight model unless you purchase an addon called the DODSOIM Bell 206. This includes a highly realistic flight model and does not use the standard default helicopter model for FSX. It has 5 different difficulty levels with 5 the most realistic and challengingXplane has a great helicopter flight model and a number of helicopters can be purchased through the xplane store. DreamFoil Creations - home make some great helicopters for xplane.DCS concentrates mainly on military helicopters and are second to none in this field. All DCS helicopters are detailed and accurate and for me and many others have the best helicopter for the PC in the shape of the DCS Huey. All our covered in our video below and more information can be found at PCHelicopters.com and also at Itye channel on youtube which has lots of PC helicopter videos.A POLL was conducted via the Helicopter Facebook group and the results can be found at the PCHelicopters.com website. http://PChelicopters.com compiled 2 videos below which will help people decide which helicopter simulator to choose from.Footnotes[1] PCHelicopters.com

FSX Rudder Problem! Can anyone who has FSX help me out?

In Microsoft Flight Simulator X, my rudder always makes my aircraft slowly tilt to the left. It started when I got my Logitech Extreme 3D pro joystick. I thought it was the joystick for sure because when my friend got his, the problem started for him too. But hen I started finding signs that it wasn't the joystick that caused the problem. Today, my friend went into realism settings and turned off auto rudder. That totally fixed the problem for him. So he called me up and told me to turn it off and what do you know, mine still isn't fixed. I explored all of setting to see if I could find it but I couldn't. Of course don't be stupid and tell me to re-calibrate the joystick, I've tried that many times. Please help me out though!

Is it safer for a plane to make an emergency touchdown on water or on land?

When you are a pilot and driving a aeroplane built of aluminum body you need to remember that this thing needs huge space ,landing length plus if you land in emergency you should be reached for help ASAP.Now take example of the Heroic FLIGHT 1548 landing in hudson river. You really think they thought about land or water? No the pure decision making was will they be able to reach the airstrip without colliding an obstacle which is a major problem.Whenever you wanna emergency land ,see tha course of landing should be OBSTACLE FREE,plus you should not land somewhere people can’t be rescued fast like for example PACIFIC OCEAN. It would take hours for safety to reach you .So better to land in an island grassland. Where atleast survival is guaranteed.Talking about technicalities of LAND and Water landings. The thing is LAND has always been given upper hand cause whole aluminium body is designed such way to tackle friction from ground. Survival rate is high. But in water ,a lot of factors come example the depth of water body, waves ,stream velocity ,current direction. Which are highly unpredictable. But yeah if you have got no option for clear land ,go for water as last and only option. On the whole ,A CLEAR OBSTACLE FREE LANDING on LAND or airstrip is better than an Oceanic or river landings. What FLIGHT 1549 did was extradordinary cause the pilot SULLY was extraordinary read his career demographics before pulling out such things. If you ever got two options go for land .Provided you dont end up in a building.

Is it just me, or do aircraft in FSX/P3D seem more to scale than their X-plane counterparts?

Flight Simulation is a bit weird compared to other games, when you’re looking at anywhere between $30 for a very basic aircraft to $100 for a study level airliner it makes people very hesitant and resistant to change.FSX and by extension P3D is alot older of a system, serious flight simmers have spent in some cases the region of thousands of dollars on add-ons, that’s ignoring the hardware to run the sim, and for alot of people that is what prevents them from switching to a new simulator, because the cost of reinvesting in essentially the same add-ons .Unfortunately that leads to a bit of a Catch22, the developers who produce these high end study level aircraft are profit driven companies, unfortunately they can’t see enough potential profit in the community to justify their time and programmer hours, and on the flipside, people like us, are hesitant to switch because of the lack of high quality study level add-ons, either we have to switch and give the companies more profit, or they have to produce the addons and hope people follow.X-Plane is the baby of the community, MSFS went for many years essentially uncontested in the market, and I have used both, I started on FSX back in the mid 2000’s, then moved to P3D when I started to get back into simming a few years ago, and was convinced to give XP11 a try. At first I suffered a little bit from what I think you do, I looked at it and the lack of study level aircraft, the lack of seemingly big names in the developer community working on add-ons, and that prevented me from fully switching and I used to run both XP11 and P3D4.X-Plane is truly a better and more realistic simulator, it has it’s bugs which are being worked on, but it’s flight mechanics are far more realistic than P3D, and we’re seeing more and more developers producing for both, PMDG released their DC on XP and rumours has it the next PMDG release will also be an XP release, Active Sky announced last year they are working on their own weather engine for XP.My advice, if you enjoy flying GA and smaller stuff, X-Plane is great, there are some fantastic GA aircraft that are study level, but if you want to fly tubeliners, we have the FF A320 Ultimate which gives any P3D A320 a run for it’s money, but other airliners we’re still lacking on and whilst I fully encourage you to fly on XP, you may find you also need to still use P3D to fill your urge to fly the heavy metal.

What video card do I need to run Flight Simulator X in Windows 10 with all scenery complexity settings maxed out with zero framing?

Honestly, you should get Prepar3D v4. It’s basically FSX, but updated for 64 bit systems and a lot of bug fixes. Academic version is $60 and well worth it.However, if you’re stuck with FSX, a GeForce 10 series video card(1060 or better) will be absolutely fine. Last time I used FSX I had a GeForce 970 and had no issues on mostly maxed settings.

Why is flight simulator x glitchy?

Play on Microsoft Flight simulator 2004 since this is less cpu eating, Flight Simulator X is one of the most buggy simulators ever built by Microsoft, even the multiplayer keeps disconnecting every 30 mins or so, absolutely stupid...anyway the reason you can't fly on high graphics, this is because your pc at its current state cannot handle the graphics on fsx therefore you will need to invest in a Quad Core pc with atleast 4GB ram and a pretty decent graphics card.
I recommend getting a SP1 fix from the Microsoft Insider website, it should make the frame rates a bit higher, also just put it on medium graphics you should find that its ok ;)

Question about Auto Pilot?

This is the answer:
1. In FSX when you set your speed at a certain altitude and then climb, sometimes it doesn't counteract the decreasing TAS (True air speed) so once you reach cruise, you should increase your speed setting, then bring it back to normal and it will set the TAS hold bug correctly. Also, at that altitude, you should really use a MACH setting to get a more accurate ground speed.
2.The ALT disconnects because if you're going to use the approach hold, there's no glide-slope information. If you want the plane to lock onto the glide-slope, get the NAV frequency for the runway you're landing at (you can get it in map mode), put the frequency into the NAV1 part of your radio-stack, switch from GPS to NAV mode, then hit NAV HLD (sometimes labeled as LOC) instead of approach hold. The glide-slope information will be displayed in your HUD as well as the horizontal information you would normally get with the approach hold. This will basically enable your plane to land itself. This process is wildly different from the real-world way of landing, but it's fun anyway :-). Hope this helps!
