Someone Has Been Sending Junk Mail From My Yahoo Account To People In My Contacts List. How Can I

My Yahoo email account sent spam emails to all my Contacts List.?

On 11/13, I opened a brief “Hello-subject email from a friend, containing a message to ”Take a Look” at a link for a “Career” article, although that went to an obvious spam website for an internet affiliates program.

THEN, on 11/16 Friday-Saturday overnight, my Yahoo email SENT out this same email to all my Contacts list.

All my sent emails were listed in my Sent Folder.
It is puzzling that it did take a few day before these emails were sent.
Some were returned to my Inbox as non-deliverable/rejected by recipient.

*Can you tell me how the malware got into my Address Book, to generated these emails?
*Did the malware compromise just my Yahoo email, or also my PC computer?

I did get negative results on manual virus scans I ran on my PC, using Malwarebytes and others. My Norton 2012 Internet Security program did not catch the original email or website.

I have sinced changed my email password. I checked all my settings, as recommended on your Help page, and saw no changes. No further outgoing emails have been generated.

How to stop Yahoo Mail from automatically adding contacts to my address book?

There is a feature that you can turn on in Yahoo Mail where every time you send an email to someone who is not saved on your contacts list, it will automatically add them to your contacts list. At first I thought this was a helpful feature which is why I turned it on in the first place, but now it is starting to annoy me since my contact list is getting cluttered with people I don't really know simply because I sent them an email for whatever reason. Is there a way to turn this feature off?

Someone/yahoo; is sending out spam emails to everyone on my contact list even sent one to me from me.?

Do you see the messages in your Sent-folder ?

If not, your adress is spoofed (forged) by a person / botnet for sending out spam mails.
It is not really complicated to do so, spammers are using valid email addresses to get their spam into the mailboxes.

For instance I receive viagra-mails with my senders name, and nobody else did ever log into my mailbox. Somehow my address came on a spammerslist, and after a while I did not only get this spam with senders name like suzy3z8oi40@anymails.com but also with my own address as sender.

This has spooked me in the beginning, but now - I don't think there is anything You / I can do against.
And - we are not the only people to experience this abuse of emails.

Or - Your account has been compromised - change your password to a strong one, something like U3v%Dc2j&jp or Wysnmwysfmwi64

- It could be a trojan/virus on your computer.

Do a virus-check, also use an trojan-remover

malwarebytes.com, trojan remover , anti rootkit etc are terms for your search.

How to fix a virus sending e-mail from my contacts list?

HACKING PREVENTION:
Someone has hacked your account and is still sending Spam to those in your address book.
Each one will have a person's name in the subject line. When opened, there is a link to some advertising sight. If you click on the link, you get Mal-ware, Spyware or a Virus.

1: Do a spyware scan on your computer to find the malware which is sending those messages and remove it.

2: After your hard drive is cleaned, change your password, not before!

3. Clean your cache, delete history of visited websites and "Sign Out" of your account completely before leaving the computer. Click the "Sign Out" button.
4. If you leave it open, anyone can open and read your email. They can also go to the history function, or just hit the back button and get into your account. Never open emails from someone you do not know. That's how the hackers get your account info.

Don't forget your new password though. You will need it the next time you sign into your Yahoo account.

When using Yahoo! Mail, if I send an email to someone I have blocked, will the person receive it?

With my understanding, I would say yes only if the person has not blocked you also. When you are the only one who has blocked the person will not have a problem for it will be just like any other person that you are sending to that has not heard from you ore have been getting emails from you. So there is no worry if you have not been blocked.

My email account is sending spam without my consent. What do I do?

You, unfortunately, have fallen victim to a virus. The virus has turned your machine into a zombie. Spammers do this. Somewhere along the line, you got a piece of spam. The spam had an attachment. You opened the attachment thinking it was one thing when really it was the virus and it infected your machine. The virus hijacked your address book. Not only is the zombie sending spam to your friends, it is sending spam to a whole lot of other lists the zombie got from other machines, maybe even from your friends. By hijacking your address book, all of the spam appears to be legitimate to all of your friends because your email client is using your address, so your address is who the email is from and looks innocent. Those bounced emails are from addresses which no longer exist. Spammers do not care if an address is good or not as it costs them nothing to send. YOU get the bounce, not them. Zombie spam tends to replicate the zombie into every machine it can when it is sending spam. The spam is infected so anyone getting the spam, if they open the attachment part of the email can get infected as well. The zombie program is usually in an attachment since it is a binary file, NOT a text file, and it will be a ZIP archive or another type of archive, since most email virus programs do NOT scan attachments if they contain an archive file. Time to do a search using your favorite search engine for anti-virus software. Look for AVG, which is a free package and highly rated. Be SURE to get it from their home page. Downloading a package from anywhere else could be preinfected with a virus.

How do I put someone on my yahoo mail whitelist?

Over the past few weeks, I have been receiving emails from one particular person that yahoo keeps automatically placing into my spam folder.

I've read around and people were saying to just add the person and his email address to my yahoo contacts. I've done so, as well as making sure he wasn't in my spam email address block list, and his emails are still being automatically sent to my spam folder.

I am currently out of options, and lost as to how to whitelist this person. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Why my computer is sending out email by itself to people which not in my contact list . How do i stop ?

Your contacts list has been compromised. The best thing to do is
Tell your friends not to click on any links in those email,as
they will have virus/or worms attached
You and your friends will need to do a full spyware scan.
Finally change your password, and make a note of your new Password.
Have a good day

How do I know if someone blocked my Yahoo email?

When you add an email address to your blocked email addresses list there is no notification sent to the blocked email address in question.Whenever your blocked contacts send you a message, they will not receive a failure notice confirming their message was not delivered. Since the email in question will never arrive to your inbox, you will not know they have sent you a message. This works the same if someone has blocked you. I appreciate you giving me the opportunity to help you!
