Something Stuck In Throat Help

Scratched Throat/Something Stuck in Throat?

2 nights ago I was eating a sandwich from my local deli when I noticed I bit into something hard. I reached into my mouth and took out what I though was the hard object, a hardened pepper.

When I finished my sandwich, I felt something weird in my mouth... I again reached in, and this time pulled out a small metal chip. I looked maybe like a piece of tin or something. My first reaction was when I first bit into it, it sounded like I chomped through it, meaning there's another piece that I must've swallowed. I started to notice that my throat hurt and it felt like something was stuck.

Anyways it's now 2 days later, and I can't locate the 2nd piece, I'm not even sure if I actually swallowed it, I could just be feeling it due to anxiety, but I definetly have a scratched throat.

My question is, is it possible that the metal is still stuck in my throat, but can't be reached? And how long does a scratched throat usually last? I'll be going to the docs on monday.

Thanks!

My dog has something stuck in her throat- how can I help her?

This happened to my dog years ago (he choked on a rib bone he stole from the barbeque.. Stupid dog). We opened up his mouth and saw the bone, got some pliers and pulled the bone out. May sound a little harsh, but it saved his life and saved us from a hefty vet bill. If you cant see the obstruction, Take your dog to the vet. Best off paying money to have her fixed than to lose your best mate.

How to remove something stuck in throat? Help please!?

I've had that happen before but drinking a lot of water has helped. I would try warm water, maybe that will help it dissolve a bit. I agree with the others to make an appt with your doctor or if you're not able to eat or breathe well then head to the hospital.
Please let us know how you turn out! {{hugs}}

Weird feeling of something stuck in my throat , please help !!?

Hello ... It's been 3 full months since I've been feeling this weird sensation of something in my throat . It first felt like some hair or piece of rice stuck in my throat ... I always try to swallow it but then it stays there in my throat ... but now it doesn't feel that way anymore , it feels more like mucus stuck in there now . I went to the doctor's and they first gave me some acid blocker which didn't help . The good thing is that It doesn't HURT at all . I have NO trouble swallowing. In fact I forget that I even have that sensation when I eat which I find weird. The doctor at my school opened my mouth and didn't see a sign of any infection . Now I am on antibiotics hoping this will take this feeling away because it's very annoying though it doesn't hurt . When I first started taking my antibiotics , 5 days later , I felt like the sensation was going away , I thought I was healing , but then 2 days later , the feeling in my throat came back. To end , I want to mention that I FEEL fine during mornings after waking up , I dont feel the feeling in mornings , but as the day progresses , the feeling comes back .... I would appreciate it a lot if people could share what they think this might be ... I recently moved to Southern California from Northern California .. I am wondering whether the smog of LA has anything to do with it .. other people are feeling fine though ... It sucks to have this sensation for 3 freaking months ... I am just GLAD it hasn't been getting worse and I can eat and swallow food just fine.. Please help with any hint for a remedy if u can

Feels like something is stuck in the back of my throat?

You most likely have food lodged in your vallecula, they are little pouches at the base of your tongue that commonly trap food, but very difficult to remove sometimes. I have seen it on occasions in the ER. You need to try to gargle with water while gargling try to rotate your neck or gargle and extend your neck( look up to the sky) while rubbing the upper portion of your neck so that the pouches move and possibly dislodging the food. If you don't feel like you can get it out you might have to go to a primary care type place and they can get it out.

Please help. Food stuck in my throat?

Okay first of all, if you had food in there that could move and choke you after you went to sleep, it would WAKE YOU UP when you couldn't breathe. You will not just drift off into oblivion, so don't worry about that.

I can assure you, if you didn't have this feeling like something is stuck until hours AFTER the meal, there is not actually anything left in there. Your larynx (throat area) is so delicate that it would not tolerate a foreign body for more than the time it took you to cough it out.

What has most likely happened is that during swallowing the crust, a piece scraped against the side of your throat causing some small abrasions. Just like any abrasion you get on your skin, the body responds by flooding the area with cells that repair and cells that fight off infection, and the way they get there is in fluid. The area swells as it heals. That's why it's taken a couple hours to feel it. It had to be swollen, and that took time.

Now, the swollen area will not cut off your airway if you lay down. But I would suggest to continue drinking COLD things, eating ice cream...anything COLD you can pass by it. It can take a while for the swelling to go down...it takes up to 12 hours for the swelling to reverse. You can also try breathing cold air. Stick your face in the freezer and breathe deep...

Next time, chew better...teehee...

Feeling like something stuck in throat after eating pizza?

If you vomited then their should not be any thing in your throat even if you ate a banana later. You probably have gas that makes if feel like you have some thing in your throat. If you have some anti gas medication take it it should help. To calm down your nerves go to your parent or some one else to trust.

I use to have this all the time and the anti gas medicine worked for me.
