My Spotify App keeps crashing... Help?
I just got a MacBook air, and have had the Spotify music app for about 3 weeks. I went to open up to listen to music, and about 30 seconds, it crashed. Tried it 3 other times, crashed at the same point all 3 times. Just restarted my computer and tried again, once again it crashed. I was told to un-install it, so I just re-downloaded it, is that the correct way to do it? I have not had any problems for 3 weeks, and all of a sudden it started crashing today. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Yesterday my spotify worked fine and then it stopped working. now I go to open it and the logo jumps in my dock, then login screen flashes on my screen then crashes. I've tried to redownload and nothing worked. I also updated my system, and it still didn't work.

It happened in mid February 2011? I'm not sure what exactly you're asking but I'm going to interpret the question as "why has my macbook been crashing for three and a half years" because that's how it's phrased. Assuming this is true, Niels is almost certainly correct. A lot of people are content with not knowing how their computer works in the slightest. This is all well and good until they leave their laptop in their car on a cold February night because they don't know better and the hard drive stops working. Extreme temperatures do not play well with hard drives. If it stopped working in February, the drive is almost surely fried.

I had the same problem.I deleted the app and use the Chrome plugin - that seems more stable.

It's probably a bug in the Silverlight plugin which is a MS plugin. All I can propose is trying other browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Opera), and make sure you have the latest version of silverlight.

Without more details, I would say delete the app and reinstall. You can download the installer from the Spotify web site.Follow the instruction at Reinstall Spotify.You an also do an offline logout. Disconnect from the Internet, start Spotify (will start in offline mode), log out, then connect to the Internet and log back in.
