Why doesn't New York have a ‘stand your ground law’ while some other states have it?Because there are a lot of assholes in the world.Here are three scenarios. Tell me which one turns out the best -1 - While driving you inadvertently offend another motorist. He pulls in front of you. “Fucking asshole!!!”… he seeths while giving you the finger. “Pullover, motherfucker, I want to TALK to you!!! He indicates the shoulder and pulls over. You slow up and pretend that you are going to pull over, too. As he gets out of his car, you pull back into your lane and drive off… by the time he gets into his car he has lost you in traffic…2 - While driving you inadvertently offend another motorist.. “YOU DUMB ASS COCKSUCKER!!! Pull over, NOW!!!” he yells. You both get out of your cars and you approach him. When he realizes that you are really pissed off, a head taller, and outweigh him by a 100 pounds… he suddenly realizes he fears for his life… pulls out his gun, and shoots you dead…3 - While driving you inadvertently offend another motorist. “You IDIOT!!.. SON-of-a-BITCH!! He screams. You both get out of your cars and he runs towards you. When you realize HE is really pissed off, a head taller than you… and outweighs you by at least 100 pounds, you suddenly realize that YOU fear for your life, pull out your gun, and shoot him dead…Even though you live in a ‘stand your ground’ state you are still charged with manslaughter… You have to hire a lawyer for thousands of dollars, and he uses the ‘stand-your-ground’ defense. Still, the odds are you will be found guilty.. Something else you had not thought about before this incident… You have now killed the father of two toddlers with a grieving wife and parents… and for what?Some facts from the Tampa Bay Times that you might be interested in..60% of the people who use the stand-your-ground defense, were arrested at least one time before.One third of them for violent crimes.One third of them illegally carried firearms or threatened someone with firearms previously. Are these people you want to mess around with if you don't really have to?In a ‘stand your ground’ state, a defendant who uses ‘stand-your-ground’ as a defense is 354% more likely to get off if he is a white person who has shot a black person then if he is a white person who shot another white…Oh… Maybe that is what this is all about?

My brother is 32 years old and on drugs my dad put him out because he was use his identity for phones and loans, and never gave any money but borrow money he never paid back .i let my brother stay with me in the past and all he did was use me he dosent work are pay his way my mother pays his car note cell phone and insurance. He ask me could he stay one night and told him no.Before in the past his broken in my house stole over 2,000 worth of stuff broke all my car winshields and more.

I find it funny as hell that people actually needed a STAND YOUR GROUND LAW. I’ve been doing this since I was 12 and will do it til the day I die. I don’t need some stupid law to grant me the right to not comply to some robber. One way or another the robber, the invader will fall.
Best friend smokes and it’s starting to annoy me?
so my best friend of 10+ years has been smoking (cigarettes) for about a year or so now and it’s starting to get to me. Whenever we go out she needs to have a smoke break every hour and she always wants me to go with her. The smoke blows in my face and then when she smokes outside and then sits in my car I can just smell it coming off of her. Recently she asked if she could smoke in my car (which is a huge no for me) cause it was cold outside. I just feel like it keeps getting worse. The breaks become more frequent, she doesn’t respect my boundaries about it as much, she knows I don’t smoke and that I dislike it like crazy yet she sometimes even says things that indicate she wants me to smoke. I just have no interest in it and even though I’m not going to give into it, it’s just starting to get to me. I want to say something but she’s just going to say something like “I NEED smoke breaks.” I want to be respectful about it but at the same time I’m so sick of it. She also smokes weed but I’m much more lientent on that. The cigarettes are what’s driving me crazy. I’m 18 and I don’t have any other friends or family that smoke so I’m not sure how to handle this/what I do about it? Any advice on what boundaries I should have and how to address them without making her angry?
